N.S. man wanted on provincewide arrest warrant

Police say 54-year-old Kirk Patrick Brown of East Preston is facing two charges of failing to comply with a release order. Police add Brown also has other charges before the court involving intimate partner violence. Police describe Brown as six-foot-two, weighing around 185 pounds, with a shaved head and brown eyes. The RCMP says they've made several attempts to locate Brown but have been unsuccessful. They believe he is in the Halifax area, according to a news release on Wednesday. Police are asking anyone with information about Brown's whereabouts to contact the RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment at 902-420-5020 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. N.S. RCMP asks public for information after shots fired in East Preston

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a report of shots fired in the 200 block of Brooks Drive around 9:40 p.m. Police say their initial investigation indicates gun fire was exchanged by people in two vehicles travelling east. No injuries have been reported. Brooks Drive was closed for several hours as officers gathered evidence. Police say they do not have a description of the vehicles involved at this time. The investigation is ongoing. The RCMP asks anyone with information about the incident to contact police at 902-490-5020 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
