The new 323-mile Genesis Electrified G80 is coming to the UK next month
The new 323-mile Genesis Electrified G80 is coming to the UK next month Dual-motor limo will arrive with a mighty but silent 365bhp punch Skip 11 photos in the image carousel and continue reading Turn on Javascript to see all the available pictures. 1 / 11 Want your slice of luxury automotive cake with left-field sprinkles? Genesis' new and updated Electrified G80 - revamped for the Korean market last winter - is set to make its way to the UK in June. Silently, of course. Because the G80 is - as the name literally points out - electrified, producing 365bhp and 516lb ft from its dual-motor, AWD powertrain. Expect 0-62mph in 4.9s. And, via its rather large 94.5kWh battery, up to 323 miles of clean green driving. Rear-wheel steering is available as an option if you're happy to part with a few more shillings. Advertisement - Page continues below The plush new Electrified G80 is 130mm bigger than the last one to make things even more spacious for passengers. And luxurious. There's a generous amount of leather in there, a redesigned three-spoke steering wheel, behind which sits a massive 27in panoramic screen that encompasses both the driving information and entertainment. Other highlights include a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo and a built-in antibacterial steriliser system within the front armrest, because of course there is. Since this UK-bound facelift is going to match up with Korea's version, it'll get sharper bumpers at either end, plus something called 'Micro-Lens Array' technology to improve visibility from the twin-pronged headlights. A very cool shape, you'll agree. Ditto those 19in shoes - very demure, one might say. Reckon on a starting price of around £77k. Offered in one "highly equipped" Signature AWD trim level, the Electrified G80 is priced from $155,000 before on-roads, an increase of $10,000 from when the model first launched in 2023. It now features a colossal 27-inch display that incorporates infotainment and instrument displays, a new Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, Hyundai Motor Group's "Ergo Motion" air-controlled seats front and rear, and powered rear doors. Other upgrades include Highway Driving Assist 2 with navigation-based smart cruise control and active road noise cancelling, the latter of which utilises four sensors and six interior microphones to monitor sound levels. Hundreds of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. Get the experts on your side and score a great deal. Browse now. Its battery capacity has been upgraded from 87.2kWh to 94.5kWh, giving the Electrified G80 a maximum claimed driving range of 570km on the WLTP cycle. Outputs remain at 272kW of power and 700Nm of torque, with rear-wheel steering now featuring as standard. Genesis labels this battery as a "fourth-generation" unit, which still incorporates 800V architecture and boasts a claimed DC fast charging capacity of 350kW. This means the Electrified G80 claims to be capable of charging from 10 to 80 per cent in 25 minutes. It's also fitted with Genesis' "Preview Electronic Control Suspension", which can supposedly adjust the suspension dampers "in readiness for bumps and potholes ahead", informed by the front camera and GPS data. These specifications exclude the hotted-up G80 EV Magma Concept, which was revealed in Beijing in early 2024. Only the tamer Electrified G80 is available in Australia at the time of publication. The new long-wheelbase Electrified G80 has increased the car's length by 130mm, while width and boot space measurements have been retained. Genesis backs the Electrified G80 with a five-year, unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty and an eight-year, 160,000km high-voltage battery warranty. Servicing is required every 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first, though pricing has yet to be detailed. The brand also offers a five-year ChargeFox subscription with new Electrified G80 purchases, while the "Genesis to You" program is offered for the duration of the car's five-year "Complimentary Scheduled Servicing" period. This unlocks Genesis' concierge service and courtesy vehicle service. The updated Electrified G80 has yet to be crash-tested, though the outgoing model wears a five-star ANCAP safety rating based on testing conducted in 2020. Standard safety equipment includes: There's only one fully kitted trim level available for the Electrified G80. 2025 Genesis Electrified G80 Signature AWD equipment highlights: Genesis Connected Services include: Note: * denotes functions requiring smartphone app connectivity.
