Vicky Pattison admits she 'hated' herself as she shares throwback snaps and hits out at troll who criticised her bikini photos
Vicky Pattison has opened up about 'hating' herself in a candid Instagram post as she hit back at a fan that claimed she 'loves herself'. The former Geordie Shore star, 37, who is currently enjoying an idyllic Maldives holiday with husband Ercan, has been sharing a series of stunning bikini snaps. However one fan took to the comments writing, 'God doesn't she love herself', prompting Vicky to hit back, 'And what gave you that impression?! Or can you just not stand to see a confident woman?' Vicky then shared two throwback snaps and revealed it has taken her years to get to the happy place she is at now and to 'finally feel comfortable in my own skin'. She wrote: 'After years of hating what I saw in the mirror.. being told I was 'fat' or being offered 'shape up' features in mags, or being criticised for being too small, always being convinced I just was worth nothing more than a number on a scale.. it is a monumental moment for me, or any women when she gets to say - I'm actually content. 'Now don't get me wrong, this didn't happen overnight. It took years of fad diets, weaponising exercise, counting berries & never ordering what I wanted off a menu to get here. 'I decided there had to be more to life.. or at least I wanted more anyway. I grew up, I fell in love with a nice man who has loved me at a number of different sizes & shapes over the years & I embraced balance. 'I know my body will look a bit different at the end of this holiday & that's ok.. because I enjoyed myself- I ate nice things with my husband & drank cocktails & I LIVED! 'I'm finally comfortable in my own skin.' Vicky told her 5.5million fans that they should be able to post whatever they want and despite not always feeling confident on the 'rare days' she does she's going to enjoy it and not let others ruin that. She continued: 'I'm not saying I'm confident all the time (Christ in a cardigan who is?!) In fact sometimes I'm downright crippled by insecurity & pulling every bit of myself apart. 'I stare in the mirror & tell myself my nose is too big, I'm starting to look old & that I have no arse & no matter how hard we try as women to be positive, embrace who we are & silence that nasty inner critic. They're always there. Nagging away at our happiness. 'So on those rare days when I wake up & I feel quite good about myself.. there is not a chance in hell I'm going to let some silly little man change that. 'Because let's have it right, this isn't about me 'loving myself', it isn't about any woman 'loving herself'- which we should all try to do more of by the way- this is about how a secure & confident woman can make CERTAIN men feel. It makes them feel small, intimidated.. it makes them feel less. But who gives a f***' Vicky then shared two throwback snaps and revealed it has taken her years to get to the happy place she is at now and to 'finally feel comfortable in my own skin' Vicky told her fans that they should be able to post whatever they want and despite not always feeling confident on the 'rare days' she does she's going to enjoy it and not let others ruin that The TV personality concluded by telling fans to 'love yourself' and enjoy sharing photos no matter what others say. She added: 'So continue to take up space, post your glam pics, your posey holiday snaps, nights out with the girls- whatever it is! Because learning to like yourself, let alone even love yourself after a lifetime of conditioning yourself otherwise is hard & you deserve to! 'In a society that thrives on us hating ourselves.. do something rebellious & love yourself'. Fans took to the comments to praise the reality stars wise words as many said 'isn't loving yourself what it is all about'. They wrote: 'And isn't that the goal - to love ourselves???; Like loving ourself is a bad thing!! It's the goal! Bloody shout it from the rooftops when we get there! I am; 'Take up space babe. This is the heart of it it's ANARCHY XXX; being content & happy is what everyone deserves to feel xx; 'Always love yourself you are beautiful inside out; So worthy!; AND???? Why can't we; If you don't love yourself, how can others ? X'. Vicky's inspiring post comes after her I'm A Celebrity bestie Ferne McCann showed off her incredible figure in a taupe bikini in a new video on Monday as she admitted to often hesitating to post pictures of herself. Fans took to the comments to praise the reality stars wise words as many said 'isn't loving yourself what it is all about' The former TOWIE star, 34, wowed in the skimpy Grace Jacobs two-piece before slipping into a patterned co-ord, posing this way and that as she showcased her stylish summer look. And amid her apparent confidence, Ferne, like Vicky, urged her followers to 'stop doom scrolling', 'stop doubting' themselves and 'post the damn picture' in a defiant, inspiring message. The mother-of-two looked in great spirits as she twirled around in the clip, but confessed in her caption that she'd regularly edit her images 'a million times' before finding the courage to post it. Her motivational message read: 'This is your sign to POST. 'Not when your body looks perfect. Not when the lighting is just right. Not when the algorithm is 'doing better.' Not when you've edited it for the 5th time. Not when you've sat on it for 3 months and it ends up lost in your camera roll. 'There are so many moments I've waited, overthought a post, edited it a million times. Sometimes you've just got to think fck it* ….free the drafts and post.'

Turkey wildfires: Izmir airport forced to close with flights cancelled and diverted
A Turkish airport has been forced to temporarily close with flights cancelled and diverted as wildfires continue to rage. Flights were grounded to and from Adnan Menderes Airport, which serves the coastal city of İzmir, a popular tourist destination, on Sunday (29 June). The airport departure board shows a number of flights due to leave on Sunday evening have been suspended or cancelled, including several from Sun Express Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Turkish Airlines and Aerlingus. Flights appear to be slowly resuming late into the evening. An airport spokesperson said: 'Due to the forest fire in İzmir's Gaziemir district and adverse weather conditions, including strong winds, İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport was temporarily closed to air traffic as of 16:00 local time. 'Some incoming flights were diverted to alternate airports during the closure. Following the NOTAM [meaning notice to airmen], the runway has reopened and the first flight, PC 1864 to Ercan, has successfully departed at 21:50 local time. Flight operations are gradually returning to normal.' Adnan Menderes airport was closed temporarily due to the blazes (Getty Images) Flights on the board still show severe delays, with one Sun Express Airlines flight to London Stansted delayed by 21 hours, now set to take off at 7.30pm on Monday. An AerLingus flight to Dublin, originally due to take off at 10.20pm, has been cancelled. Photos on social media showed clouds of smoke over İzmir as the sky turned orange with flames. The Mayor of İzmir, Dr. Cemil Tugay, said: 'Today is a very tough day for us; we are simultaneously battling numerous fires breaking out all across our beautiful İzmir. In collaboration with relevant institutions, our Fire Department, along with heavy machinery, tankers, and all field personnel, is on high alert. 'Our teams are working with all their strength to combat the fires, which have grown due to the effect of the storm, particularly in Menderes, Seferihisar, and Gaziemir. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the fires that reduce our forests to ashes are caused by human hands. 'A small act of negligence is enough to burn down an entire forest, thousands of creatures living within it, and our homes. Please, let us be extremely careful from now on. Especially in hot weather, let us steer clear of any activities that could cause a fire.' The flames in Turkey come almost a year after the country battled wildfires in August, after the country recorded its hottest July for 53 years, with temperatures reaching 45.9C in Şırnak in the country's southeast, according to the Turkish State Meteorological Service. As Turkey battles its own tinder dry conditions, Europe remains on high alert as the continent faces its first major heatwave of the summer. Temperatures are expected to climb as high as 42C. Greece has already experienced blazes on the Island of Chios, while France has issued severe fire risk warnings.

MAFS in major schedule shakeup as E4 bosses pull hit series from slot as seething fans complain
SEETHING Married at First Sight have complained after E4 pulled the hit show from its usual slot. The Aussie version of the matchmaking programme is currently playing out on E4. 2 Married at First Sight has been ousted from its usual slot Credit: Channel 9 2 The hit show has been split into two parts for E4's new series Honesty Box Credit: Channel 4 Fans have typically tuned in at 7:30pm each evening for the latest fix from the show. However, in a schedule shakeup, they tuned in on Monday night to discover it was ousted from its slot. Instead bosses have chopped MAFS into two parts - with the first airing at 8pm. Vicky Pattison's brand new reality show The Honesty Box then airs an hour later at 9pm. The second part of MAFS then broadcasts at 10pm. With Tuesday night's schedule the exact same, seething fans have flocked to social media to complain. One said: "I refuse to be manipulated. I will watch MAFS on +1 at 9 then switch over for the second part at 10. No Honesty Box for me!" A second fumed: "They think because we're loyal MAFS fans we'll watch Honesty Box and stay up late to finish watching MAFS. Nope. That's what catch up is for." "Just seen now it's not on until 8pm! Simpsons it is then! Very cheeky splitting MAFS between this new show. I'll be getting it on catch-up, past my bedtime," said a third. While a fourth commented: "In case you didn't know tonight and tomorrow's #MAFSAU episodes will be on from 8-9 and then 10-10:40 with #HonestyBox in between. I resent E4 messing with my night to try and get me to watch another show. I already know it's on; they've advertised it enough." Vicky Pattison reveals 'difficult' first year of marriage with husband Ercan Honesty Box sees a group of singletons live in a luxury villa in Cyprus while looking for love. Speaking exclusively to The Sun about the new show, Vicky said: 'The Honesty Box is the perfect mix of Love Island and The Traitors, with this gorgeous First Dates theme running through. 'You have bikini-clad babes and hunks in a gorgeous villa looking for love, which is a format we are familiar with. But then you add this AI tech element that forces them to be honest and face their feelings.' Each contestant is quizzed inside The Honesty Box, a room that uses artificial intelligence to track their physiological responses — including heart rate, body temperature and pupil dilation — to determine if they are telling the truth about their feelings and any love connections they may have made.
