KSrelief Cooperates with ICRC to Support Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has signed a cooperation agreement with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to strengthen the efforts of the emergency response in Gaza. According to the agreement, KSrelief will provide an additional $1.85 million in aid to bolster aid efforts in Gaza Strip, according to the Saudi Press Agency. Therefore, the Kingdom's total support for the ICRC's efforts in Gaza reaches $11.85 million. Crucially, the center's funding basically targets the delivery of essential medical supplies to health facilities, as well as improving water and sanitation services. These vital sectors are currently facing great challenges due to the severe humanitarian crisis in the Strip. The humanitarian situation in Gaza has deteriorated sharply since the outbreak of the war between Hamas and Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. The Gaza War has caused the death of tens of thousands of casualties, widespread displacement as well as severe shortages of food, clean water and medical supplies. Through its humanitarian arm (KSrelief), Saudi Arabia has been intensifying its humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of Gaza people. Alongside its international partners, the Kingdom is exerting lots of efforts to provide food assistance, medical supplies and emergency relief to the Palestinians in Gaza. Medina to Launch Shuttle Bus Service in Ramadan 2025

Medina will launch a shuttle bus service on March 1, marking the beginning of the month of Ramadan, according to Gulf News. The Medina Bus Project seeks to make the movement of visitors and residents easier during Ramadan. The service is set to operate routes to the Prophet's Mosque for 18 hours a day. However, Al Salam and Sayyid Al Shuhada stations will run 24/7. Launched to alleviate traffic congestion, the initiative aims to boost mobility around the mosque and offer visitors and residents with a cleaner environment by decreasing vehicle emissions. In 2024, over 2 million people used the Medina bus service, according to official data. As the number of worshippers increases during the fasting month, the authorities plan to increase the bus fleet, operating hours, as well as stop points. Powered by solar energy, the buses represent an integral part of the Medina Development Authority's projects. The service covers 106 stops, each equipped with display screens, route maps, as well as service schedules. Furthermore, the routes serve key locations, such as mosques, historical and archaeological sites, educational institutions, shopping malls, and healthcare facilities.
