2025 Arizona Cardinals training camp roster preview: OL Evan Brown
We will preview every player on the Cardinals roster leading up to training camp. This is about OL Evan Brown. The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team. Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2024, questions they face and their roster outlook. This focuses on offensive lineman Evan Brown. Evan Brown background, 2024 season Brown enters his second season with the Cardinals and eight season overall in the NFL. He entered the league in 2018 as a rookie free agent out of SMU with the New York Giants. He did not play all season. From 2019-2020, he spent time with the Giants, Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions, appearing in 11 games, logging 81 snaps, all as a backup. He became a starter with the Lions in 2021, starting 12 games at center and then another 12 in 2023 at right guard. In 2023, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks and started 16 games at center. Last year, he signed a one-year deal with the Cardinals and moved to left guard, starting all 17 games and playing 98% of the team's snaps, logging a total of 1,070. He was very good and the Cardinals re-signed him this offseason. Evan Brown 2025 contract details, cap hit Brown signed a two-year deal to return to the Cardinals worth $11.5 million. He received a $3 million signing bonus and will make nearly $3.2 million in salary in 2025. Of that, $3 million is guaranteed. He received a $50,000 roster bonus and can make up to $255,000 in per-game roster bonuses. He counts $5 million against the cap. Questions he faces, roster outlook Brown is a lock to make the roster and is the unquestioned starting left guard. He was a pleasant surprise last season. The question is whether he can repeat that success and build upon it. He was the team's most consistent lineman all season. They need more of that consistency. NFC West LG rankings: Cardinals' Evan Brown not No. 1
We continue to rank players and positions in the NFC West. We now look at the four starting left guards. We are in the final stretch of the NFL offseason as the Arizona Cardinals open training camp on July 22. Leading up to then, as we have for several offseasons, go through the players and position groups in the NFC West and rank them. Next up, we look at the left guards for the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks and rank them. 1. Steve Avila, Los Angeles Rams The highly touted second-round pick in 2023 has been a solid guard. He was supposed to play center in 2024 but that did not go well in the offseason and the Rams moved off of him even before the season began. Is is big and strong and moves people. And he has a high ceiling as well. 2. Evan Brown, Arizona Cardinals Brown was very good in 2024 for the Cardinals in his first season at left guard. He had played a lot of center in his career and left guard as well, but he was great. He is as good as he probably will ever be at this point in his career, but he gives the Cardinals solid play without being ridiculously expensive like some of the better-known guards have gotten. 3. Grey Zabel, Seattle Seahawks He is just a first-round rookie, but there are high hopes for him in Seattle, and his upside gives him the leg up on the No. 4 left guard in the division. 4. Ben Bartch, San Francisco 49ers Bartch is the guy projected to replace Aaron Banks. But he is a question mark, as he has played only eight games and made two starts in the last two seasons for the Niners. Arizona Cardinals to face several of NFL's top guards and centers
No Cardinals OL made ESPN's top 10 interior linemen, but the Cardinals will face several this coming season. As NFL training camp approaches for most NFL teams (the Los Angeles Chargers reported on Saturday), sites continue to publish lists, rankings and predictions. ESPN has been revealing player rankings at different positions, but with a twist. They are based on the votes of coaches, scouts and executives. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler revealed the rankings for the interior offensive linemen — the top 10 and five honorable mentions. Unsurprisingly, the Arizona Cardinals did not have any of their linemen in the group. After all, while left guard Evan Brown and center Hjalte Froholdt have been solid in their roles in the starting lineup, no one really considers them among the best at their positions, while right guard Isaiah Adams, projected to be a starter in 2025, has five NFL starts under his belt as he enters his second season. However, the Cardinasl will face some of these top interior linemen. NFL interior linemen rankings: Which ones will the Cardinals face in 2025? The Cardinals will face four of the top 10 and another three of the five honorable mentions. The Cardinals have an upgraded defensive interior this season, so it will be fun to see who has the advantage in these games.
