First Look at Evan Peters as The Villain Julian Dillinger in TRON: ARES — GeekTyrant

Disney has dropped some new photos from it's upcoming film Tron: Ares , and they offer a first look at Evan Peters as the film's villain, Julian Dillinger. The third entry in the Tron franchise. following 1982's Tron and 2010's Tron: Legacy , is finally surfacing after years of development, and Peters' character appears to be stirring up trouble on both sides of the digital divide. Julian Dillinger, as the name suggests, carries a heavy legacy. Speaking at D23, Peters teased the connection: 'Dillinger doesn't always mean great things for those on the grid.' One of the newly released images also shows Julian alongside a character played by The X-Files star Gillian Anderson, who portrays Julian's mother, Elisabeth. In Empire magazine, Anderson opened up about the tension in their dynamic: 'Having a son that behaves in the way that Julian does, and trying to deal with his actions, both emotionally and logistically — it adds a level of stress and strain to their relationship.' The film's official synopsis sets the stage: 'A highly sophisticated Program called Ares is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind's first encounter with A.I. beings.' Directed by Joachim Rønning ( Maleficent: Mistress of Evil ) and written by Jesse Wigutow, the movie brings back Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn and introduces Jared Leto as Ares, Greta Lee as Eve Kim, and Jodie Turner-Smith as Athena. Tron: Ares hits U.S. theaters on October 10, 2025.

Ryan Murphy's 'Monster' Season 4 Will Focus on a Female Protagonist

Though Season 3 of Netflix's Monster hasn't premiered yet, Season 4 is already in the works. If you need a refresher: Season 1 starred Evan Peters as Jeffrey Dahmer, and season 2 followed the Menendez brothers (played by Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch). The upcoming third season, which is slated to premiere sometime this year, is set to star Charlie Hunnam as the serial killer Ed Gein. Laurie Metcalf, Tom Hollander, and Olivia Williams will also reportedly round out that cast. Now, here's everything we know about season 4 of Ryan Murphy's anthology series. According to Variety, a source shared that season 4 will focus on Lizzie Borden. Borden (1860-1927) lived in Massachusetts and was accused of murdering her father and stepmother with an axe, but she was later acquitted of the deadly crimes. After her acquittal, Borden continued to live in Fall River, MA, until she died of pneumonia in her late 60s. Borden's story has previously been immortalized on the screen in the 2015 series The Lizzie Borden Chronicles starring Christina Ricci as Borden and the 2018 film Lizzie starring Chloë Sevigny as the titular character, and Kristen Stewart as Bridget Sullivan, the Borden's live-in maid and Lizzie's close confidant. The cast for season 4 has not yet been announced. Season 4 is potentially set to begin production this fall, but Netflix has not yet renewed Monster for a fourth season, per Variety. This story will be updated.

Kesha Responds to Controversy Over Jeffrey Dahmer "Cannibal" Lyrics

Originally appeared on E! Online Kesha's 2010 song "Cannibal" has left a bitter taste in some people's mouths. And while she understands why, it was a risk she was willing to take for her art. So the singer (born Kesha Rose Sebert) didn't sweat it when "Cannibal" sparked a dance trend on TikTok in 2020, particularly the part where she warbled, "Use your finger to stir my tea / And for dessert I'll suck your teeth / Be too sweet and you'll be a gonner / Yeah, I'll pull a Jeffrey Dahmer." Not everyone was charmed by her lyric referencing the serial killer, who dismembered 17 boys and young men between 1978 and 1991 . "Oh my God, I got re-canceled for the Jeffrey Dahmer lyric," Kesha told People in an interview published July 3. "It was a controversial lyric." But, she added, "If some people aren't offended by what I'm doing, I'm probably not doing a very good job of being a pop star." More from E! In response to criticism that the show (which was nominated for six Emmys) exploited Dahmer's victims, Murphy said during a Q&A panel that his crew "reached out to around 20 of the victims' families and friends trying to get input, trying to talk to people and not a single person responded to us in that process." And Kesha's mom Pebe Sebert pushed back when the Murphy series prompted a new round of backlash directed at her daughter. "The whole Jeffrey Dahmer lyric in 'Cannibal' is a big controversy right now," Pebe said in an October 2022 TikTok. "I thought I'd just say a few things about it because that was my line that I wrote in 'Cannibal.'" Basically, Kesha and her cowriter were "too young to even know" who Dahmer was, Pebe explained. Enter Mom and the Master Writer for Songwriters computer program. "We were looking for a rhyme for 'goner,' at the very end of the widest rhymes was Jeffrey Dahmer," Pebe said. "I was like, 'Oh, my God, that's a perfect lyric.'" Kesha is aware, meanwhile, that not all lyrics age gracefully: She has changed the line from her 2010 smash "Tik Tok" that went "Wake up in the mornin' feelin' like P. Diddy" to "Wake up in the morning feeling like, f--k P. Diddy!" But overall, the 38-year-old has relished the opportunity for TikTokers to interact with her music in new ways. "I feel like the way people are consuming music is so different than it was, and will probably continue to get even more different," Kesha told People. "But it's a beautiful thing to watch a song [such as 'Your Love Is My Drug] you wrote, God, 15 years ago, and have 7-year-olds now relate to that song." Meanwhile, Dahmer's crimes aren't the only ones that have provided fodder for grisly TV shows and movies. Fans to join family and friends of musician Mike Peters at his funeral in Wales

Friends, family and fans of musician Mike Peters, who died at the age of 66, are expected to gather in Wales for his funeral on Thursday. The rock star, who was frontman of Welsh band The Alarm, died on April 29 from blood cancer, more than 30 years after he was first diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) at the age of 36. More than 150 guests, some who have travelled from the US, will attend the funeral service in the village of Dyserth alongside Peters' wife Jules, 58, and their sons Dylan, 21, and Evan, 18. Dylan and Evan are expected to carry a casket containing their father's ashes to the Parish Church of St Bridget and St Cwyfan for the service, which will feature readings and musical performances. Peters' sons are expected to play guitar as those in attendance since Stand By Me, before Welsh TV presenter and opera singer Rhys Meirion, who is himself being treated for cancer, performs Anfonaf Angel. There will also be performances of Wonderwall, by Evan, and Fade In Fade Out Fade Away by Peters' longtime friend and collaborator Billy Duffy of The Cult. Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth will speak of Peters' contributions to Welsh culture, and Welsh singer and campaigner Dafydd Iwan will perform Yma o Hyd. The service is expected to be broadcast on a big screen outside the church for fans who are planning to attend. In a statement, Jules Peters said: 'Mike lived as he sang – with passion, courage, and an unshakeable belief in the power of people to make a difference. His voice may be still, but his message and music will never fade. 'Mike was so grateful for the love so many people showed him in his lifetime, and we are so grateful for the outpouring of love our family has received in the past few weeks since he died. 'Mike's music will keep us strong, and the community he built for all of us will sustain us. 'Today is a sad day, but it's also a celebration of his life and the legacy he created. Mike is very much here in spirit.' Reverend Gregor Lachlann-Waddell, the vicar at the Parish Church of St Bridget and St Cwyfan, said it was an 'honour and a privilege' to lead the service in the village 'Mike loved so much'. He said: 'The celebration we have carefully curated befits a man whose life was marked by music, resilience, and unwavering hope. 'While staying true to his Welsh roots, Mike found global fame, and the people who have come to celebrate his life today, many travelling thousands of miles, are reflective of the remarkable life he carved for himself and his family.' Peters, who supported U2 and Status Quo on tour and played with Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, underwent numerous drug treatments and rounds of chemotherapy, and had tried experimental therapy to keep his cancer at bay. Last year, five days before he was due to fly to Chicago for a 50-date US tour, he noticed that a lump in his neck had appeared overnight and doctors quickly realised the star had developed Richter's syndrome, where CLL changes into a much more aggressive lymphoma. He had been undergoing treatment at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester before his death. The artist first rose to prominence in the early 1980s with The Alarm, with hits including 68 Guns and Strength. He was made an MBE in 2019 for voluntary services to cancer care in north Wales and abroad. Alongside his wife, he co-founded Love Hope Strength, a cancer charity to encourage action around stem cell donation. Through its Get On The List campaigns, often publicised at rock concerts, the charity has added more than 250,000 people to stem cell registers worldwide.
