Rolls-Royce welcomes AviLease's order for 20 Trent XWB-97 engines to power 10 A350F
Rolls-Royce (LSE: RR., ADR: RYCEY) today announces AviLease has agreed to place an order for 20 Trent XWB-97 engines that will power 10 Airbus A350F aircraft. This will be the first Rolls-Royce powered freighter aircraft to operate in the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia. Kuwait Airways, UK's Rolls-Royce mull over aircraft operational efficiency
LONDON, May 14 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's national carrier and the UK's Rolls-Royce PLC Holding Group agreed on Wednesday to beef up efforts to develop the airline's aircraft engine system, saying the measure aims to ratchet up operational efficiency. The joint endeavor with the UK-based engineering giant is part of Kuwait Airways' strategy to strengthen operational efficiency to cope with the changes in the global aviation market, the Kuwaiti flag carrier's chairman Abdulmohsen Al-Fagaan was cited as saying in a statement after talks between the two sides. These endeavors are part of the Kuwaiti national carrier's "strategic goals" that are firmly backed the political leadership, while the initiative is a step towards greater cooperation between Kuwait Airways and the British engineering firm, added the statement. Kuwait Airways routinely undertakes such initiatives that help improve the quality of its fleet of aircrafts, the official underlined, saying the airline's clientele will be the ultimate beneficiaries of maximum convenience onboard the flag carrier's aircrafts. Emirates Group has renewed its Rolls-Royce Leadership Programme for another 5 years, as part of its continued efforts to develop and empower the UAE national leadership skills and competencies. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the renewal was signed by Adel Al Redha, Deputy President and Chief Operations Officer of Emirates Airline and Ewen McDonald, Chief Customer Officer, Rolls-Royce, with senior executives from both organisations present. The extended agreement will ensure five additional cohorts benefit from the airline's bespoke training module for UAE Nationals, offering them better access and resources to support their career progression. To date, 175 graduates across 11 cohorts have completed the programme. Many of the graduates now hold senior leadership roles in different parts of the business across the Emirates Group. The Rolls-Royce Leadership Programme is the Emirates Group's flagship leadership development initiative, designed to equip its UAE National workforce with the necessary skills to drive business success and prepare them for future leadership roles.
