Emirates Group renews Rolls-Royce Leadership Programme for UAE Nationals
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the renewal was signed by Adel Al Redha, Deputy President and Chief Operations Officer of Emirates Airline and Ewen McDonald, Chief Customer Officer, Rolls-Royce, with senior executives from both organisations present.
The extended agreement will ensure five additional cohorts benefit from the airline's bespoke training module for UAE Nationals, offering them better access and resources to support their career progression. To date, 175 graduates across 11 cohorts have completed the programme. Many of the graduates now hold senior leadership roles in different parts of the business across the Emirates Group.
The Rolls-Royce Leadership Programme is the Emirates Group's flagship leadership development initiative, designed to equip its UAE National workforce with the necessary skills to drive business success and prepare them for future leadership roles. The renewed programme will feature an enhanced curriculum which will cover Financial Management and Commercial Acumen; Sustainability; Emerging Technologies and The Future of Work and Strategy, Personal Impact, and Innovation.

Emirates launches new daily service to Shenzhen
Post Views: 55 Emirates has officially launched its new daily service to Shenzhen, marking the airline's fourth gateway in the Chinese mainland and reinforcing its East Asia growth strategy. Passengers who flew on the inaugural flight from Dubai received special gifts and certificates to commemorate the occasion. Emirates now offers 42 weekly flights to four key cities in the Chinese mainland – Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen – providing passengers and businesses with enhanced connectivity and travel options in and out of Chinese mainland. Operated by a four-class Boeing 777-300ER, Emirates' flight EK328 departs from Dubai at 1005hrs, arriving in Shenzhen at 2200hrs. The return flight EK329 departs Shenzhen at 2355hrs, landing in Dubai at 0340hrs the next day.* Flights to and from Shenzhen are conveniently timed to enable seamless connectivity to key destinations across Europe, including London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam – leveraging Emirates' extensive global network via its Dubai hub. Passengers can also seamlessly connect to Emirates' points in Kenya, Egypt, South Africa and Saudi Arabia. Passengers flying to Shenzhen will enjoy an elevated experience onboard one of Emirates' enhanced Boeing 777s, offering 8 private suites in First Class, 40 lie-flat seats in Business Class, 24 seats in Premium Economy and 260 spacious seats in Economy Class. Shenzhen has become the first city in Chinese mainland to receive Emirates' retrofitted aircraft with upgraded cabin interiors and the award-winning Premium Economy. The new Business Class cabin in a 1-2-1 layout will further offer aisle access to every passenger. Enhanced cargo and passenger operations Emirates has been serving China since 2004 and plays a significant role in facilitating seamless connectivity to over 50 countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, covering one-third of the 150 countries and regions participating in the initiative. Expansion of the airline's operations will further boost inbound visitor volumes to the Greater Bay Area from GCC countries and Africa, while also supporting industries such as smart manufacturing, e-commerce, and biopharmaceuticals, through a 72-hour global supply chain system. Emirates' wide-body Boeing 777-300ER, served on the Dubai-Shenzhen route, offers 16 tonnes of cargo capacity per flight. Allowing it to further help amplify the 'Aerial Silk Road' by integrating Shenzhen's advanced manufacturing sector with Emirates' global cargo network. Airline's world-class cold chain capabilities will ensure the global accessibility and seamless transportation of perishable goods and pharmaceuticals. Strengthening UAE-China ties The UAE is China's largest trading partner in the Middle East, with bilateral trade reaching US$95 billion in 2023. Aviation plays a key role in the rapid growth of trade exchanges between the two nations. Emirates' expansion into the Chinese mainland comes at an opportune time as the UAE and China's comprehensive strategic partnership deepens further, boosting cooperation in various sectors such as trade, technology, logistics and investment. Travellers from the GCC including the UAE can now visit China visa-free for up to 30 days, allowing Emirates' customers to enjoy hassle-free planning for their business and leisure trips to the Chinese mainland. Emirates expands routes with retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER fleet
The Dubai-based airline Emirates will deploy retrofitted Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s across multiple routes as the airline responds to increased passenger demand. The carrier will expand services to Milan, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Shanghai, Singapore, and Zurich from October 26, 2025. Emirates expands routes with feet upgrade The airline will introduce a third daily flight to Milan, operating service EK 101/102 with a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires will receive daily services through the linked EK247/248 flights. Shanghai operations will see significant changes, with the EK302/303 service upgrading from retrofitted Boeing 777 to Airbus A380 aircraft. The second daily Shanghai flight, EK 304/305, will continue with retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft. Singapore will benefit from A380 deployment on its third daily service EK 314/315 during the winter schedule. Zurich passengers will experience A380 operations on the second daily flight EK 85/86 from 1 February 2026, replacing the current retrofitted Boeing 777. Premium Economy will launch on Zurich service EK87/88 with a retrofitted A380 from the same date. Emirates' retrofit programme has transformed 60 aircraft since November 2022, with engineering teams completing one aircraft transformation every three weeks. The four-class Boeing 777 configuration includes 6 or 8 First Class suites, 38 or 40 Business seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 256 Economy seats. The A380 Premium Economy cabin features 56 seats in a 2-4-2 layout on the main deck, equipped with charging points and cocktail tables. Customers can purchase tickets through the Emirates App, Emirates Retail stores, or travel agents.

Dubai: Emirates uses AI-powered engine monitoring to cut costly flight diversions
Dubai's flagship carrier Emirates is tapping into the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to help the airline enhance flight safety, monitor engine health in real time, and reduce costly flight diversions, a senior official revealed. 'We're using AI to predict the turbulence en route from one destination to another. Using AI is not only for the benefit of the company but also for enhancing the safety of operations. "We are able to use AI to predict the health of the engine, and how it is performing, and that helped us a number of times to avoid diversions of an aircraft because we were able to continue operating that aircraft for the specific diagnosis and live monitoring it,' said Adel Al Redha, deputy president and chief operations officer of Emirates. He was speaking during the ForsaTek 2025 exhibition and conference last week. The event featured over 40 in-house and partner showcases, strategically organised across the innovation pipeline spectrum, from early-stage research and prototyping to proof-of-concept trials, and fully launched initiatives being scaled up. AI adoption is on the rise across all industries, and airlines are no exception. From improving operational efficiency to enhancing customer service, companies are exploring new ways to harness data and automation. Looking ahead, Al Redha stressed the importance of strengthening real-time data capabilities to further improve services. For example, he said accurate data can help airlines load the right quantity of food on board — preventing waste and saving millions of dirhams annually. On the use of passenger data, Al Redha reassured that Emirates is aligned with government regulations. He noted that the airline is already taking steps to regulate and govern the use of public data. 'The more we rely on technology, the higher the level of cybersecurity we need to invest in and ensure that we are safeguarding the operations,' he added. As the technology advances, Al Redha noted that the company will upscale its staff as the airline will increasingly adopt generative artificial intelligence (AI). 'We're going to rely on generative AI. That's going to make some of our jobs easier and information much more faster accessible. Some of the people may not be up to the same level of skill as others. We will have to examine certain staff level skills, and upskill them to be able to manage or deal with what the new norm is going to be,' he said.
