After a preseason filled with hype and anticipation, Ferrari fell flat at the start of the season. They struggled to secure wins or podium finishes, although the Italian team has taken steps to improve throughout the season. Still, the team isn't in the race for either championship and remains on the hunt for their first win. More Photo byFerrari faces high expectations every season as it looks to stop the lingering title drought. The leadership of the team is known for being impatient with its team principal, and the team's poor form in Vasseur's third season at the helm isn't helping his case with the board. "It seems to be a bit of a revolving door with teams generally," Wolff told "I think in F1, you can't buy time, and you need to give senior leadership the time to get on top of things. "Look at us. I'm not enjoying being in a phase that it's the third year in a row that we are not fighting for a championship. We're not useless. We have really good weekends. We're winning races. It's respectable at times. "And when it's not good, nobody's questioning in a way whether the top guy is doing a good job or not. Leave him the space. Let him do [things]. They need to just let them do [things]." The Scuderia added Lewis Hamilton to its driver lineup, creating one of the best duos on the grid. Additionally, they introduced a fresh concept to their car, with the hopes of capitalizing on the current regulations' final year. Wolff believes in Vasseur's leadership amid Ferrari's issues this season and thinks it is only a matter of time before he turns things around. "Fred is one of the best racing managers that I know," Wolff said. "If I wasn't here, I would take Fred. So, I respect him a lot. He's a great personality. He's a straightforward guy. He doesn't do politics and lies. He knows what he's talking about. "He just needs to be given the trust to run this. He's perfectly aware that in Italy, it's like managing the football national team. You're going to have the scrutiny from the media. "Maybe that's something you need to grow a little bit of a thick skin, because if he wins, he is Jesus Christ, and if you lose, you're a loser. That's how Italy is. That's fantastic. "That's the passion that is in there. You've got to embrace that. Maybe that's something he needs to learn. But the rest, he should be given the confidence in running this team. They won't get anybody better."

Sergio Perez provides big update on possible return to F1 in 2026
Sergio Perez provides big update on possible return to F1 in 2026 Sergio Perez and Red Bull Racing parted ways after the 2024 Formula 1 season, and while the organization has already replaced his successor after two races, he is looking toward a potential return to Formula 1 soon. On Tuesday, Perez spoke to and provided an update on his possible return to the sport in 2026. The 35-year-old driver is in a similar position as former Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo, but he may have more options available right now. "If I find a project that motivates me fully to come back, where the team believes in me and where they appreciate my career, my experience, and everything I can bring to a team, it would be very attractive to consider it,' Perez said to "That's why I've given myself at least six months to get all my options on the table and make a decision on what I do next with my career. There are a few very interesting projects out there. I've been approached by a few teams since Abu Dhabi. Right now, the season has started, so a few things will open up in the coming months." It's unclear which F1 teams are talking to Perez at this moment, but it's not surprising that he is being pursued. Before the eventual decerrase in performance at Red Bull, Perez showed promise next to Max Verstappen. Now, with the 2025 Formula 1 season underway, Perez is waiting for 2026, hoping the right opportunity presents itself. More: 🏁 Watch every F1 race ad-free with F1 TV Premium. Sergio Perez in talks with F1 teams about 2026 return
Sergio Perez's absence from Formula 1 may not be a long one. Speaking to F1's official website, the former Red Bull driver and 14-year veteran of the circuit said he is talking to multiple teams about returning to racing in 2026 as he spends this year away from the circuit. "I've been approached by a few teams since Abu Dhabi," the 35-year-old told while speaking from home in Mexico on Tuesday. "Right now, the season has started so a few things will open up in the coming months. "We are talking to a few parties out there. Once I know all my options, I will make a decision. What is very clear to me is that I'm only coming back if the project makes sense, and it's something I can enjoy." After the season finale in Abu Dhabi in December, Perez and Red Bull announced they were cutting ties despite Perez having two more years left on his contract. After finishing second in the standings to teammate Max Verstappen in 2023, Perez struggled last season. He failed to win a race for the first time since 2019 and had only four podium finishes. He had 20 over the two previous seasons. In 281 career races, Perez has six wins, 39 podium finishes and four top-five finishes in the standings. A majority of that success (including three of the top-five finishes) came in his four seasons with Red Bull. "Everything happened really late in the season," Perez told "I wasn't really expecting it to happen. It only became clearer once we were in Qatar, and we started to discuss and negotiate my exit of the team. It all happened very quickly." Among the teams rumoured to be speaking with Perez is American manufacturer Cadillac, which will enter F1 competition next season. New Zealander Liam Lawson, Perez's replacement at Red Bull this season, has struggled enough that he was replaced after just two races. Yuki Tsunoda will take his place at the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday. One commonality between Perez's struggles last season and Lawson's so far this season is the RB20 car designed by Red Bull and first used in competition by Perez last season. "Especially last year, I didn't get to show what I'm able to do as a driver," Perez said. "Now, all of a sudden, people realise how difficult the car is to drive."
