Govt revives JET City project, clears way for MSME hub
Vijayawada: The construction of the flatted factory complexes (FFCs) at the Vemavaram Jakkampudi economic township (JET City), intended to house micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), is finally set to see the light of the day. The state govt has permitted the Andhra Pradesh economic development board corporation limited (APEDCO), the original nodal agency appointed for the construction of the FFCs, to proceed with the pending land alienation and hand it over to the Andhra Pradesh industrial infrastructure corporation (APIIC). APIIC is the nodal agency for the micro and small enterprises cluster development programme (MSECDP) scheme, which includes two components: infrastructure development (ID) and common facilities cluster (CFC). APIIC will complete the pending tower works intended for MSMEs. In this regard, the government has allowed APEDCO and APIIC to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MoU), under which APIIC will be responsible for completing the pending parts of the first tower and the remaining towers of the FFCs. This will be done with the help of govt of India (GoI) schemes and/or private partnerships, and the allotment of completed spaces will be as per APIIC regulations. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo Earlier, the govt proposed to develop the Jakkampudi economic township to create a walk-to-work environment, providing a good quality of life over 234 acres in Jakkampudi and Vemavaram villages in Vijayawada rural mandal. Land was allotted to the extent of 60.01 acres in Vemavaram and 93.02 acres in Jakkampudi, totaling 153.03 acres. The govt sanctioned and took up phase-1 works of the JET CITY project at an estimated outlay of ₹143 crore under the EPC model for the development of three towers and trunk infrastructure for the flatted factories over 6.45 lakh sqft. However, the contracting agency achieved only 20% progress due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and further progress was halted due to non-alienation of land parcels to APEDCO, which stalled the project due to non-release of funds.

Display details of fee fixation panels: Edu dept to pvt schools
1 2 Ranchi: The district education department has asked all private schools in the city to prominently display the names and contact details of their fee fixation committees (FFC) and parent-teacher committees (PTC) on their premises. Schools have been told complete this display work during the ongoing summer vacation. This directive follows earlier instructions to all private schools to constitute both the FFCs and PTCs. Department officials said only 50 out of 150 schools have complied so far. "However, many of these schools did not make the details of the committees public, which is required," Badal Raj, the district superintendent of education (DSE), said. Raj said, "The step aims to empower parents by ensuring transparency in school administration, especially concerning fee structures. If a school increases its fees, parents can now raise concerns directly with the committee members. In addition to tuition fee hikes, parents can also file complaints related to increased charges in other categories." To address such issues, a district-level committee and a dedicated monitoring cell have been set up to act on any valid complaint. These measures align with the provisions of the Jharkhand Education Tribunal (Amendment) Act of 2017, which calls for the formation of fee-related committees at both the school and district levels to prevent irregularities. The department clarified that no private school can increase its fees, whether below or above 10%, without consensus between the FFCs and PTCs. If a school seeks to increase fees beyond 10 percent, it must obtain prior approval from the district-level committee. Additionally, a reminder will be issued to schools that have not yet formed the committees. If they fail to comply, a show-cause notice will be served to them. Principal of Kairali School, Rajesh Pillai, said, "We are using the summer vacation period to put up the committee names and contact numbers. The information will be displayed before the schools reopen." Get the latest lifestyle updates on Times of India, along with Brother's Day wishes , messages and quotes !

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will launch 10 MSME Parks, lay stone for 40 more in A.P. on May 1, says Kondapalli Srinivas
The Government of Andhra Pradesh is all set to inaugurate 10 MSME Parks and lay foundation for another 40 on May 1, 2025. 'The MSME Parks in Anakapalli, Pileru and other areas, which are ready in all aspects, will be dedicated to the people by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Atmakur MSME Park in Nellore district. He will also lay the foundation for construction of the proposed 40 parks,' Kondapalli Srinivas, Minister for MSME, told The Hindu here on Tuesday. Of the ambitious target of constructing 175 MSME Parks in each Assembly constituency, the government completed 10, he said. Besides laying the stone for 40 more parks, it was proposed to commence work on 45 additional parks in six months and take up work on the remaining parks after one year. 'The government aims to complete all the parks in three years,' Mr. Srinivas said. 'Interested persons may apply for allotment of land in the 10 parks from May 1,' Mr. Srinivas said. The government was planning to designate sectoral MSME Parks, among the 175, depending on the demand and resources available in the respective areas. At the same time, he said the government would encourage private MSME Parks as well, he said. The Minister said the government planned to construct at least one Flatted Factory Complex (FFC) in each constituency, which would be of help to the micro industries having an investment of about ₹20 lakh. 'Both the MSMEs and FFCs will nourish the economy by creating employment and industrial opportunities,' Mr. Srinivas said. The government negotiated with the bankers to provide ₹1.28 lakh crore loan to the MSMEs for the 2025-26 Financial Year, he said, adding that it was about 48% higher than the previous year's loan limit of ₹87,000 crore for the sector. He said the bankers accepted the proposal of the government at the State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) meeting on Tuesday.
