Rashee Rice pleads guilty to multi-car crash and is sentenced to 5 years of probation and 30 days of jail time
(Image via Getty: Rashee Rice) Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice pleaded guilty on Thursday to charges–one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving injuries, and six counts of collision involving serious bodily injury. He was involved in felony racing on the highway and felony accident-causing serious bodily injury in a Dallas car crash during the 2024 NFL offseason. Rice drove the Lamborghini Urus at 119 miles per hour–recorded 4.5 seconds before the horrifying collision involving six other vehicles on a Dallas highway. Police Authorities said Rashee Rice was driving a Lamborghini SUV and racing with Theodore Knox, who was driving a Corvette. They were engaged in a high-speed race on the U.S. Highway. A lawsuit alleged that Rice and Knox were driving under the influence–having consumed alcohol before the crash. The WR told authorities that he lost control of his vehicle, which led to a chain-reaction crash involving six other vehicles. FOX 4 News obtained an arrest warrant, which showed that Rice was speeding at 119 miles per hour seconds before the collision. Knox was speeding at 116 miles per hour, but he slowed down to 91 miles per hour a second before the impact. Police on scene of deadly shooting in south Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An investigation is underway after a person was shot and killed in south Kansas City Tuesday morning. According to the Kansas City Police Department, at about 11:45 a.m., dispatch received a call about a possible shooting near the area of Oak Leaf Drive and Crabapple Lane. Kansas City police search for missing 12-year-old girl Dispatch initially said a person had been critically injured in the shooting. However, at about 12:30 p.m., they confirmed the case had developed into a homicide. At this moment, there is no information about a victim or a suspect, as well as the events leading up to the shooting. This is a developing story. KCK suspect arrested, charged after man found dead in parking lot
KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged after another man was found dead in a Kansas City, Kansas, parking lot this week. Jamahal Fountain was arrested Monday afternoon, according to the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department (KCKPD). He has been charged by the Wyandotte County District Attorney with second-degree murder. When police arrived, they confirmed that Nabors suffered some sort of head trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene. What led up to the incident is currently unclear. Both the suspect and victim were homeless, according to police. Fountain is being held in the Wyandotte County Jail on a $300,000 bond. Fireworks explosion injures two children in Kansas City, Kansas
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department (KCKFD) is investigating after two children were injured in a fireworks explosion. KCKFD responded to the emergency call just after 11 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, in the area of N. 46th Street and Leavenworth Road. See the latest headlines in Kansas City and across Kansas, Missouri A 12-year-old is reported to have suffered significant injuries, including severe burns and damage to both hands, chest and face, as well as substantial bleeding and burns to the airway. KCKFD said paramedics used advanced life support measures on scene due to shrapnel wounds to the chest. A 13-year-old is said to have sustained damage and burns to the right hand. Both victims were taken by ambulance to nearby trauma centers in critical condition, according to KCKFD. Man arrested in connection with deadly triple shooting in Independence
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Independence Police Department said a man has been arrested in connection with a . Police said Robert L. Cordato, of Kansas City, Missouri, was arrested on Friday in Blue Summit. Three victims were found inside a home; one was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim who died has been identified as Robert Smith Jr., of Independence. The second victim is reported to be a woman who remains in critical condition at a local hospital. The third victim is reported to be a juvenile, who sustained moderate injuries and is recovering, according to police. According to the probable cause statement, Cordato has only been charged with possession of a controlled substance in Jackson County. The probable cause statement says investigators set up surveillance at multiple addresses. On June 13, Cordato was arrested; investigators found nearly 3 grams of methamphetamine on his person, according to the probable cause statement.
