220 Felda entrepreneurs join mega 3D carnival in Kuala Lumpur
KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 220 entrepreneurs from the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) will participate in the Mega 3 Dimensional Carnival (MK3D) from July 30 to August 3 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). Felda director of community economic development, Datuk Muhammad Rizal Abdul Rahim, stated that the carnival aims to provide entrepreneurs with opportunities to expand their market reach. 'We see strong market potential for Felda entrepreneurs' products not only within their schemes but globally as well.' He added that the event allows direct engagement with potential buyers, which could lead to bulk orders. 'Through this carnival, entrepreneurs can showcase their products directly to visitors. This could open the door for future bulk orders, which is the outcome we are targeting.' Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi recently announced MK3D as a strategic initiative combining rural entrepreneurship programmes under one platform. 'It brings together three flagship initiatives—KKDW's Rural Entrepreneurs Carnival, Felda Settlers' Day, and KUSKOP's One District One Industry Showcase—as a strategic approach to rural development.' Muhammad Rizal highlighted Felda's digital push, stating, 'We now have avenues to market our products through our own channels, including websites and TikTok, to support our entrepreneurs.' Collaboration with the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) will further enhance digitalisation efforts. - Bernama

Felda transformation to boost rural prosperity and pride
KUALA LUMPUR: Felda is undergoing a major transformation to adapt to modern challenges while maintaining its role as a key driver of rural prosperity and national pride, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. Speaking in conjunction with Felda Settlers' Day, Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, emphasised that Felda is expanding beyond traditional sectors like rubber and oil palm. The agency is now venturing into education, entrepreneurship, food technology, arts, and culture to ensure long-term sustainability. 'Since its establishment 69 years ago, Felda has not only been the backbone of rural development but has also uplifted over 112,638 settlers and nearly three million Felda generations nationwide,' he said in a post on X. Ahmad Zahid outlined key agendas for 2025, including enhancing settlers' economic well-being through higher income opportunities and community empowerment. He stressed the need to strengthen Felda's role in the global food and commodity industry, particularly as Malaysia emerges as a major player in palm oil production through FGV, the world's third-largest crude palm oil producer. The development of Felda's younger generation remains a priority, with a focus on quality education, skills training, and entrepreneurial support. Among recent achievements, the MaresmaF Wind Orchestra from MRSM Ulul Albab Felda Trolak won the Golden Diploma Award at the 26th Prague International Wind Orchestra Festival, showcasing Felda's global potential. This year's Settlers' Day celebrations will feature the 3-Dimensional Mega Carnival (MK3D), combining the Village Entrepreneurs' Carnival and One District One Industry showcase. Titled 'My Village is Global,' the event from July 30 to August 3 aims to promote Felda products and community innovation on an international scale. – Bernama

Transformation Of Felda To Forge Ahead As Nation's Pride
GENERAL KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 (Bernama) -- Felda is undergoing a transformation process by reorganising its strengths to face new challenges, to remain relevant, sustainable and continue to be the pride of the country, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. In a post on X, Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, said Felda is no longer just relying on traditional sectors but is now exploring the fields of education, entrepreneurship, food technology, arts and culture to ensure its survival and success. "Since its establishment 69 years ago, Felda has not only been the backbone of rural development, but has also opened up opportunities for more than 112,638 settlers and almost three million Felda generations nationwide to enjoy a better life. "Felda today is no longer just about rubber, oil palm and land scheme. It is undergoing a process of reorganising its old strengths to face new challenges, to remain relevant, sustainable and continue to be the pride of the country. "I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all Felda settlers for their sacrifices, efforts and unwavering spirit since the establishment of Felda. God willing, with the support of all parties, Felda will continue to be a catalyst for rural prosperity and a strategic asset for the country," he said in conjunction with Felda Settlers' Day today (July 7). Ahmad Zahid said that since the beginning, Felda has remained with the mandate of providing land to the landless, creating dignified jobs and eradicating poverty, which has been the basis of its success to this day. For 2025, he said several key agendas would be the backbone of joint efforts for the benefit of the people and the country, including efforts to restore Felda's values and dignity to a higher level. He said this included strengthening the economic well-being of settlers through increased income, new opportunities and community empowerment as national goals to uphold the services of settlers and ensure that they continue to be the backbone of rural and national development. In addition, Ahmad Zahid said Felda's role also needed to be strengthened as a major power in the world's food and commodity industry, given that Malaysia is now emerging as a major player in the global palm oil industry through FGV, the world's third-largest crude palm oil (CPO) producer.
