Penn & Teller returning to where it all began at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival

Magic and comedy icons Penn & Teller are performing a special, one-day-only show at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival later this year. Penn & Teller performed for the first time together at the festival in 1975, and now they're and returning to where it all began to celebrate their 50th anniversary on Aug. 16, 2025. "After six groundbreaking years performing as a trio called Asparagus Valley Cultural Society they emerged again as a duo in 1981 and they've been captivating audiences ever since—selling out Broadway, becoming TV stars, and headlining in Las Vegas for 33 years!" the festival announced. Tickets are on sale via the festival's website, with more information regarding parking and park and ride options to be provided "soon." Penn Jillette and Teller first met through Weir Chrisemer, as the trio performed together under the name "The Asparagus Valley Cultural Society." After Chrisemer stepped away from performing in 1981, the remaining two switched up their act and the rest is history as Penn & Teller are among the most famous magicians ever. The 2025 Renaissance Festival will take place weekends from Aug. 16 through Sept. 28, including Labor Day and Festival Friday on Sept. 26.
