Argos is selling cheap iPads fast in 'lowest price ever' discount
The high street retailer has a rare discount on the entry-level iPad
Purchasing a new iPad from Apple is never going to be a bargain, but there's an enticing offer from Argos that makes it more affordable. The high street retailer currently has a rare discount on the entry-level iPad, which means shoppers can add one of these devices to their basket and pay £269 - that's the 'lowest price ever' at Argos.
It's a very alluring deal, and shoppers have clearly spotted the bargain, with Argos confirming that it's currently 'in demand' and 'selling fast'. The only thing consumers need to be aware of is that this is the older iPad model, which first launched back in 2022.
This has now been superseded by this year's updated iPad, which boasts a faster A16 processor and 128GB of storage as standard, reports the Mirror. The model Argos is selling at the discounted price, features an A14 Bionic processor and a more modest 64GB of internal memory.
For cheaper and newer model alternatives, look to Amazon where shoppers can buy a Fire HD 8 Tablet (2024 model) for £69.99, was £99.99. Built with seamless on-the-go streaming and gaming in mind, the tablet has an eight-inch screen and 13 hours of battery life when fully charged.
Meanwhile, Samsung fans can pick up a Galaxy Tab A9 for £159 at Currys. The device has an 11-inch screen and facial recognition to lock the device.

It's worth noting that Argos is now one of the sole UK retailers stocking the Apple's 2022 iPad. In the reviews, one person said: "Bought this as a gift a few months ago and is highly delighted with the iPad."
A second wasn't happy with their order, saying: "The iPad box was damaged. Dirty on corners and even green on some edges. This was a present for someone, so I brought it back and got a refund, as this does not look good and possibly could have been damaged inside."
A third concluded: "Lower end of the memory scale but still loads. Do not want to store vast amounts on one device anyway so this fits the bill. Does all you would expect of an iPad in a slim package and a good definition screen."
Apple's 2022 iPad features a 10.9-inch screen, long battery life, premium metal design and full support for the Apple Pencil. That means owners can scribble on the screen without using their fingers.
The iPad 2022 is not quite as good as what Apple is now stocking, but this is still a top-rated machine that's perfect for someone who wants to send a few emails, surf the web, and play some games. It's also significantly cheaper with the latest tablet costing £329.
