With their daughter growing and more decisions looming about independence, career paths, and family dynamics, Season 2 promises to offer more relatable themes and comedic moments. TV fans baffled after one of the 'biggest sitcoms ever' confirms sci-fi spin-off
The Big Bang Theory fans have been left seriously confused after the 'absolutely insane' plot of the upcoming spin-off was finally confirmed. The original sitcom ended in 2019 after 12 years on our screens, but sparked two separate prequel shows – Young Sheldon and George & Mandy's First Marriage. In 2023, bosses announced that another program based on Kevin Sussman's Stuart Bloom was on the way from co-creators Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady, and it has now been greenlit at HBO Max. A string of familiar faces will be getting in on the action, including Denise actress Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn as Bert, and Barry Kripke star John Ross Bowie – while co-creators Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady. However, Stuart Fails To Save The Universe will be a huge departure from the usual TBBT that viewers know as it will see the comic book owner travelling through a multiverse and trying to 'restore reality'. The logline, via Variety, reads: 'Comic book store owner Stuart Bloom (Sussman) is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon. 'Stuart is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise (Lapkus), geologist friend Bert (Posehn), and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke (Bowie). 'Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we've come to know and love from The Big Bang Theory. As the title implies, things don't go well.' While it is not clear when Stuart Fails To Save The Universe will premiere, it's fair to say that many were blindsided by the direction of the show, and flocked to social media to unpack the plot. Reddit user MarketingOwn3547 posted: 'I legit can't tell if serious…' 'What? That is so ridiculously divorced from the setting of the original show that I kind of love it. I can only hope that they fully embrace the genre shift and go as weird as they can,' BerksEngineer commented. Alarming-Wish2607 agreed: 'That's absolutely insane. They have earned my attention for at least one or two episodes. If it's bad I owe them nothing.' 'I actually watched all of BBT and mostly enjoyed it. Stuart was fun in very small doses. I can't imagine the character leading a series. This sounds so bad, Lenifilm replied. As Goldman250 added: 'I'm sorry, what the f**k is that plot? I think they might actually be making a show that I'll enjoy.' The Big Bang Theory was hugely popular during the original run, and has gone down as one of the biggest sitcoms in TV history. The upcoming series marks the fourth program in the universe with Chuck sharing in a statement: 'I wanted to do something radical that would take me out of my comfort zone. 'Something the characters on The Big Bang Theory, would have loved, hated, and argued about.' Teasing what to expect while at the Banff World Media Festival last month, he added: 'There's a lot of CGI. More Trending 'There's a lot of special technical stuff. For me in my career, a big production number was two people sitting on a couch, drinking coffee! This is different. 'This is trying to incorporate some of that world of science fiction/fantasy into a comedy. And I'm completely out of my element, which is what I wanted, which is what I was hoping to do. New 'Big Bang Theory' spinoff confirmed with multiverse plot featuring Stuart Bloom and returning cast
A new spinoff from The Big Bang Theory has been confirmed, with the upcoming series set to feature Stuart Bloom and explore a multiverse storyline. The Big Bang Theory first aired in 2007 and ran for 12 seasons before concluding. The franchise continued with spinoffs including Young Sheldon, which aired for seven seasons, and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, which began in 2024 and has been renewed for a second season. In 2023, reports emerged of a potential spinoff involving comic book store owner Stuart Bloom. Two years later, the project has been officially greenlit at HBO Max, as reported by Variety. The spinoff is titled Stuart Fails to Save the Universe and will see Kevin Sussman return as Stuart. Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and John Ross Bowie will also return in their roles as Denise, Bert, and Barry Kripke. The official synopsis states: 'Comic book store owner Stuart Bloom is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon. Stuart is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert, and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke. Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we've come to know and love from The Big Bang Theory. As the title implies, things don't go well.' Screenwriter Zak Penn described the series as the type of show 'the characters from Big Bang Theory would watch.' Co-creator Chuck Lorre added, 'There's a lot of CGI.' No official release date has been confirmed, though the spinoff is expected to air on HBO Max in 2026.

Montana Jordan Ties the Knot With Jenna Weeks in a Weekend Wedding
Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage star, Montana Jordan, who plays Georgie Cooper, has tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Jenna Weeks. The couple exchanged vows in a romantic 'classic cowboy' themed wedding on June 21 in Texas, surrounded by family, friends, and some of Jordan's co-stars. Montana Jordan, best known for playing Georgie Cooper on Young Sheldon and its spinoff, Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage, is now a married man. The 22-year-old actor tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Jenna Weeks, in a Texas wedding that blended country charm with elegance. The couple exchanged vows on Saturday, June 21, at Dove Hollow Estate in Texas, surrounded by around 200 guests, including Jordan's co-stars Emily Osment, Rachel Bay Jones, Will Sasso, Jessie Prez, and Raegan Revord. The wedding followed a 'classic cowboy' theme, with French chandeliers, soft ivory florals, and candles. Weeks described their vision to People as 'country but elegant,' and Jordan happily let her lead the planning, calling it her 'perfect day.' The couple shared that they wanted to make the ceremony 'memorable and intimate,' with a strong emphasis on family and faith. The couple privately exchanged handwritten vows before a ceremony officiated by their hometown pastor, which included a communion ritual to reflect their Christian beliefs. Weeks looked radiant in a Valentini wedding gown, describing the experience as feeling like a 'real-life princess.' She later changed into a shorter, more dance-friendly dress. Jordan also swapped his ceremony look for a more relaxed outfit, which was Wranglers, a pearl snap shirt, and worn-in cowboy boots. Montana Jordan and Jenna Weeks' first dance was to 'Tennessee Whiskey' by Chris Stapleton, followed by traditional mother-son and father-daughter dances. For those unaware, Jordan and Weeks first met in 2021 at a Cody Johnson concert in Nacogdoches, Texas. They were both 18 when their families brought them along, and from that moment, their relationship blossomed. Jordan proposed in January 2025 on the land where they plan to build their family home. The couple already shares a daughter, 13-month-old Emma Rae.
