What does new Boston Celtics big man Luka Garza bring to the team?

What does new Boston Celtics big man Luka Garza bring to the team? The Celtics signed the former Minnesota Timberwolves center to a two-year, $5.5 million, fully guaranteed contract fresh on the heels of losing backup big man Luke Kornet to the San Antonio Spurs and a four-season, $41 million contract. Garza's presence will help blunt the impact of the loss of Kornet for Boston in the coming 2025-26 NBA season, but the Celtics will likely need to keep adding bodies to play in the frontcourt. But what can Garza do to help Boston get better while they continue to retool the roster? The hosts of the CLNS Media "How Bout Them Celtics!" podcast, Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance, took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk it over. Check it out below! Are the Boston Celtics going to lose veteran big man Al Horford in free agency?

Are the Boston Celtics going to lose veteran big man Al Horford in free agency? The Celtics recently lost backup big man Luke Kornet to the San Antonio Spurs on a four-season, $41 million deal, and find their frontcourt rotation quite thin as a result, with only deep reserves Neemias Queta and Xavier Tillman Sr. currently under contract. Add in the rumbles that we are hearing about Horford being a free agency target of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, and other ball clubs, and one can see why Boston might be worried about losing the Univeristy of Florida alum to another team this summer. With star forward Jayson Tatum out injured for the season and Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis dealt to new teams, it's safe to say that Boston is not likely to remain a contender for the coming campaign as well, another factor that could lure Horford away. Could the Boston Celtics lose big man Luke Kornet in free agency?

Could the Boston Celtics lose big man Luke Kornet in free agency? Per recent reports, the Celtics reserve center is getting interest from at least two other ball clubs. We have heard rumbles that both the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Clippers could try to steal away the Vanderbilt alum from Boston by throwing enough money at him that the Celtics cannot match the offer. The question is what that sort of offer might look like, because even with the team trying to stay under the second apron, the Celtics have several ways to further reduce salary in order to make some space to sign Kornet to the value the market sets for him without wrecking other team building goals. How should we react to the Boston Celtics taking University of Kentucky big man Amari Williams? The Celtics upset some of the team's fans by trading back in the second round of the 2025 NBA draft on Thursday night. Using the No. 32 overall pick to secure a pair of future second round draft picks on top of the pair they used to take Virginia Commonwealth University guard Max Shulga and Williams at nos. 46 and 57 overall, respectively, turned heads as Boston took players few non-NCAA basketball addicts had heard of.
