These 4 high street perfumes from H&M smell surprisingly expensive - starting from £8.99
Ok, I'll say it: I am a fragrance snob. It's the only area of my beauty routine I've ever been a bit snooty about. Good skincare on the high street isn't exactly in short supply (Byoma, CeraVe, The INKEY List… ILY), and makeup is only getting better too (if you haven't tried E.l.f's new blush tints yet, do). Don't get me wrong, there are some delicious perfumes sitting in the middle ground - take Cosmo favourite Floral Street, for example - but I just didn't think high street perfume had caught up yet. It was actually one of my favourite fashion brands that proved me wrong: H&M. Wanting to dip my toe into some gourmand fragrances without forking out a fortune, I found Posh Pistachio. At £9.99, it wasn't a mammoth investment if I didn't like it, right? Thankfully, I need not have worried. Now fully on board - and surprised at its brilliant quality, TBH - I did some digging. I found that H&M produces their fragrances at a manufacturer called DSM-Firmenich. Chances are that the name will mean nothing to you, but here's the thing: they employ some of the world's best 'noses' to create luxe perfumes from brands that you'll have definitely sniffed - and loved - before. With that, I made it my mission to explore some of H&M's most loved fragrances. The results were so surprising, that they might have just changed my view on high street fragrances forever.

'I found a way to get 'fresh' £29 perfume for under £5 in Boots deal'
The high street retailer has just launched its latest beauty edit, and it's a good one. Filled with premium skincare, makeup and fragrance, the limited-edition bundle is perfect for summer Boots has a real knack for putting together covetable beauty edits, but its latest Get Holiday Ready Beauty Bag might be one of the strongest yet. Priced at £32, this limited-edition bundle boasts a value of £124.50, making it a tempting offer for anyone looking to elevate their summer skincare and makeup routine without the premium price tag. Inside, there are seven mini and travel-friendly products from high-end and cult-favourite brands, all zipped up in a chic, reusable pouch. Whether you're hopping on a plane or planning a local getaway, this kit is undeniably built for on-the-go ease. As for the products themselves, well, there's some seriously impressive picks to delight skincare, makeup and fragrance enthusiasts alike. The most valuable item in the edit is Floral Street's Sunflower Pop Eau de Parfum, which is usually £29 for 10ml - that's only £3 less than the price you pay for the whole box. And it actually works out at £4.57 when you divide the number of products you get by the price you pay. Perfect for summer, it's bright, citrusy, and a definite mood-booster in a bottle. Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's Sunflowers, it features notes such as sweet mandarin and zesty bergamot, plum, musk and amber. It's not my usual vibe, however, I was pleasantly surprised by it's fresh scent and have found myself reaching for it on sunny days. The Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist is another fragrance in the mix, a viral sensation that has legions of fans thanks to its warm, beachy notes. If you love gourmand scents, it's a summer staple. Both the Sol de Janeiro mist and Floral Street perfume are very different, so some shoppers may not like both, however they do seem to serve different moods - plus it's nice to have the option. Boots Minis Bag Get Holiday Ready £124.50 £32.00 Boots Buy here Product Description Laneige's Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturiser is another standout. This K-beauty favourite is ultra-hydrating but still lightweight, ideal for post-sun exposure or long travel days. It leaves the skin feeling plump without any residue, and the 20ml size is generous for a mini. As for makeup, the Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek in Werk is the ultimate travel companion. This multitasking cream stick can be used on the eyes, cheeks and lips for a really easy, cohesive makeup look. It's perfectly pigmented, easy to apply, and gives that dewy, flushed look as though you're just back from the beach. I almost didn't recognise Bobbi Brown's Vitamin Enriched Face Base without its iconic packaging, but truth be told, I actually like this squeezy applicator even more. This primer has earned cult status among beauty buffs and it's not hard to see why. I found it performed exceptionally well under makeup, helping everything stay fresh even after a full day out. The 15ml tube goes a long way, too - a little truly does the job. The MAC Stack Elevated Mascara Mini mascara is another great addition to the edit. It delivers impressive volume and lift, perfect for travel or topping up during a long day. My only critique is that the mini wand can feel a bit fiddly, especially for those used to a full-size applicator, but it's a fair trade for the travel convenience. Finally, there's the Rituals The Ritual Of Karma Shimmering Body Oil which gives a gorgeous glow to the skin. It's a great finishing touch for holiday evening looks, but I think it's got a relatively short window of use year-round as I'm unlikely to wear this on an average Wednesday afternoon, as I would some of the other products. That said, the edit is designed with holidays in mind, so one can't grumble too much. To help take the stress out of packing, a number of other popular high street retailers have also released travel edits, with fashion favourite ASOS offering their Luxury Travel Essentials Beauty Box. Coming in a handy travel pouch, the edit costs £40 and boasts £135 worth of products, saving £95 on the RRP. Inside, shoppers will find eight products from a range of top brands, including Elemis, Laneige, Sol de Janeiro and Elizabeth Arden. As part of the offer, each item works out at £5 apiece. Glossybox has released a brand-new Travel Beauty Kit Limited Edition - and it saves shoppers more than £120 on the contents. While the goodies inside this beauty haul are worth over £150, it can be snapped up for an impressive £30 by subscribers, or £40 by non-subscribers. Glossybox's travel kit features 12 skincare, makeup and haircare treats, five of which are full-sized. The Boots edit has received nothing but praise from shoppers, with five star reviews across the board. One wrote: 'Such a good selection of products - especially for taking away. The bag itself is also great quality. I was going to buy the cream blush and that was £22 on its own! Please bring out more edits as good as this one.' Another added: 'Great value, nice selection of items, especially liked the fragrance,' while a third wrote: 'Looking forward to using these lovely products on my holiday.' 'Absolutely love this little set,' said another. 'I wanted to try a few of these products for a while and when I saw this set for the price I instantly bought. 10/10. Bag is really spacious and will come in handy when I go on holiday.' And I have to agree with the masses, because this set really is packed with genuinely useful, luxe-feeling products that most people would be thrilled to take on holiday. The Milk, Laneige, and Floral Street products alone justify the purchase, but the entire lineup compliments each other nicely together. Shop the edit here.

Reviewing 10 bestselling Floral Street perfumes – From Arizona Bloom to Vanilla Orchid
Let's be honest, the cost of perfumes has gotten out of hand. I'm more aware of this than ever before because, the other day, I went to spritz one of my fave perfumes (Le Labo Thé Noir, in case you're interested) for a friend while I was in Selfridges. I did a double take when I saw that it was now £234 Great British pounds for 100ml. I beg your pardon? It's why the Cosmo beauty team is dedicated to finding you fab alternatives if you aren't in the market for dropping that much on a fragrance. It's actually how we came across Floral Street. With prices starting at just £29 for an eau de parfum (aka a fragrance with a pretty potent amount of perfume oil in it compared to an eau de toilette) it's such an affordable brand with a vast array of perfume types from floral (natch) to fruity and gourmand. Also, something that I think is so cool is that, to ease the buying process of perfumes online, which is tricky let's be honest, is that when you buy a full sized bottle on Floral Street's website, the package includes a small sample so you can test the scent with the sample and if you hate it, you can return the unused, unopened bottle for a full refund! I was so impressed with the range but I have picked out the top 10 below that you need to smell asap... I tested the perfumes for a range of characteristics. I sprayed first thing in the morning and noted the lasting power through the day. I also looked out for how much the scent changed after the dry down and if it smelled different on my clothes vs on my skin. I also noted the projection (aka how powerful the scent is). I would say that, on average, the scents last a good few hours before I found myself wanting to respritz. It's not the strongest for an EDP but definitely lasted longer than the average eau de toilette of cologne.

The new-gen perfumes that double as skincare
These days, we demand everything but the kitchen sink from our purchases: just blame smartphones. In beauty, this means products that go above and beyond their original function and cater to multiple needs. We have hair conditioners that double as growth-boosting scalp serums, body lotions that promise to help with crepey arms and blotchy chests, and a dose of elusive 'wellness' promised with just about every potion you buy. The latter is offered in the shape of 'happy' colours, tactile packaging, 'neuro-active' regenerative ingredients and, most of all, fragrance. Long known for having a direct impact on the psyche, it was only a matter of time before perfume itself took centre-stage as the latest 'smart' cosmetic, marrying its mood-altering abilities with actual skincare benefits. 'Gen Z has driven the trend for fragrance as a tool for self-care, choosing scents for specific benefits including emotional wellness,' says Michelle Feeney, the founder of Floral Street fragrances. 'So we set out to create a body mist that wasn't just a watered-down eau de toilette but a functional fragrance with healing and hydrating properties.' Unique as that may be, the idea of a 'skincare fragrance' raises the issue of fragrance being a known skin irritant. Even if you're not sensitive to scent and with perfumed products strictly regulated for safety, dermatologists will still tell you that habitually dousing patches of skin in strong perfume can eventually sensitise those areas, causing rashes and dermatitis. So is it truly possible to straddle today's twin requirements for gentle skincare and aromatic emotional rescue? These products, it seems, already have. The fragrance and flavour manufacturer, Robertet, are the pioneers of Actiscents, made of natural aromatic raw materials (often essential oils) with olfactive as well as cosmetic benefits. Their portfolio includes extracts that protect from pollution and combat pigmentation. Floral Street chose a blend that inhibits an inflammation-causing enzyme in the skin. The soothing cocktail, which reduces potential irritation from products by 50 per cent, is in all three of the brand's new body mists, including the tangy-fresh Floral Street Wonderland Peony Perfume Mist, £24. Upcycled rosewater (a byproduct of the rose oil production that would otherwise go to waste, fermented to enhance its skin benefits) provides hydration. The result is an enveloping perfume that mitigates skin reactivity without becoming evanescent. Biodynamically produced rosewater, good for its antioxidant vitamin E content, hydration and soothing aromatherapy properties, also stars in Wildsmith Skin Super Moisturising Treatment Mist, £40, alongside plumping and quenching ingredients hyaluronic acid and betaine. Elsewhere, Salt & Stone Santal & Vetiver body mist, £45, produced by a functional fragrance brand which is focused on skin and planet-friendly formulas, features moisture-trapping glycerin and nutrient-rich, antioxidant red algae. The scent is warm, grounding and subtle so as not to upset skin. Spicy-sweet Moroccanoil Brumes du Maroc hair and body fragrance mist, £24, has argan oil and vitamin E to nourish and protect skin with essential fatty acids and antioxidants, plus 'UV absorber technology' to help protect and preserve hair fibres. According to Farida Irani, the founder of Subtle Energies ayurvedic skincare, it's a matter of formulation as to whether fragrant essential oils cause skin reactions or not. 'Aside from the highest-quality, unadulterated oils being less prone to irritate,' she says, 'the right synergy of the chemical components and trace elements in a therapeutic face or body oil is paramount for side-stepping adverse reactions.' Her Subtle Energies The Facial Blend, £240, has a base of regenerative, pigmentation-fading ashwagandha and mogra oils with an aromatic blend of jasmine, rose and sandalwood — three essential oils recognised for their soothing and anti-anxiety properties. This formulation has no adverse effect, says Irani, on '99 per cent of users' skins'. Neurae Harmonie The Oil, £125, pulls off a triple psycho-dermatological feat. Essential fatty acids nourish, resurrection plant can neutralise the impact of the stress hormone cortisol in the skin and a gentle but lingering aroma of Palo Santo wood — credited in traditional medicine with reducing pain, inflammation and stress — gives an overall sense of calm and wellbeing. Possibly inspired by the sell-out success of Byredo and Susanne Kaufmann's Bregenzerwald Body and Fragrance Oil collaboration, which team Alpine forest fragrance with nourishing meadowfoam seed and peach kernel oils, Jo Malone has ventured into world of aromatherapeutic bodycare. Jo Malone Restore body oil, £64, replenishes with primrose and almond oils while the jasmine, neroli and rosehip aroma has a tranquilising effect on the mind.
