2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty Price and Specs Confirmed for Australia
Price and specifications have been revealed for the new Ford Ranger Super Duty. While the majority of the changes are under the skin, it is still shaping up to be the vehicle that hardcore off-roaders, adventure tourers, and tradies have asked for with headline figures such as 4,500kg Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM), 4,500kg maximum braked towing, and 8,000kg Gross Combined Mass (GCM). That's right, it's the same top-selling Ford Ranger that Australians love, and features all of the Ranger's Driver Assist Technology, safety features, versatility and capability. However, it has been upgraded with double diff-locks, tougher low-range gears, heavy-duty axles, a 130-litre long-range fuel tank, 33-inch all-terrain tyres, and more. The new Ford Ranger Super Duty is priced from $82,990 plus on-road costs and will be available in Australia in two trim levels (Ranger Super Duty and Ranger Super Duty XLT (mid-2026)) from 2026 as either a Single, Super or Double Cab Chassis before it will be made available as a Double Cab with style-side box in mid-2026. The Ranger Super Duty XLT that's arriving in mid-2026 will 'boast unique alloy wheels and touring-focused upgrades and will be exclusively available on Double Cab chassis and pick-up variants only,' according to Ford Australia. 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty | Image: Supplied / Ford Australia How Much is the Ford Ranger Super Duty? The Ford Ranger Super Duty Cab-Chassis arrives in Australia from early 2026 and is priced from $82,990 plus on-road costs. Here's a complete list of pricing from the Ford Ranger Super Duty line-up: Ranger Super Duty Single Cab-Chassis – from $82,990 plus on-road costs Ranger Super Duty Super Cab-Chassis – from $86,490 plus on-road costs Ranger Super Duty Double Cab-Chassis – from $89,990 plus on-road costs You can then add a Ford Licensed Accessory steel tray to your Ranger Super Duty as a dealer-fit accessory at launch in galvanised silver, body colour (depending on body colour) and matte black. Galvanised Steel Tray Single Cab-Chassis – $7,121 Super Cab-Chassis – $6,296 Double Cab-Chassis – $5,966 Body Colour Steel Tray Single Cab-Chassis – $8,331 – $8,826 Super Cab-Chassis – $7,561 – $8,056 Double Cab-Chassis – $7,176 – $7,671 Matte Black Steel Tray Single Cab-Chassis – $9,376 Super Cab-Chassis – $8,551 Double Cab-Chassis – $8,166 Paint-wise, you can have your Ford Ranger Super Duty in Arctic White or four other prestige paint colours, available at an additional cost. Arctic White (NCO) Shadow Black Command Grey Aluminium Metallic Seismic Tan (model exclusive) The popular Traction Green colour will be available later in 2026. 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty | Image: Supplied / Ford Australia What Makes the Ford Ranger Super Duty Stand Out? Visually, the Ford Ranger Super Duty will appear similar in design to the Ranger Raptor, but sports a steel bumper and front grille. It's equally as wide as a Raptor (2,028mm) and has the same track width due to new control arms and wider 33-inch all-terrain tyres, and a ground clearance of 299 mm, which is 27 mm higher than a Raptor. Overall chassis dimensions remain similar, and that means there's no widened rear end to match the F-450 in the U.S., and no 'dually' option available either. However, so much has been changed underneath the vehicle to cope with these new load ratings, and this includes a unique frame engineered to provide increased strength, performance and load-carrying capacity. There's a thicker frame, while suspension mounts, box mount brackets and tow bar mounts have been reinforced. Meanwhile, several enhancements to differentials and drivetrain components have occurred, but most of the changes will be found under the skin, including: 33-inch all-terrain tyres, 18-inch wheels 130-litre long-range fuel tank (standard) Heavy-duty axles (standard) Front and rear differential locks (standard) Sealed snorkel (standard) for improved water wading depth compared to other Rangers Bashplates (standard) covering: Engine Front differential and transfer case Transmission Fuel tank On-board scales Larger side mirrors Steel bumper and front grille Readily accessible mounting points 8-stud wheel hubs with larger bolts (standard) 'With enhanced capability and developed for hard work, we know Ranger Super Duty will be pushed to the limits on some of the toughest terrain on the planet,' said Dave Burn, chief program engineer, Ford Australia. 'That's why we made sure the underneath had high-strength protection.' 'We listened to what the hardest working fleet operators told us they needed to be more productive, and we've developed a Ranger with heavy-duty hardware and enhanced capability to stay on the job longer and help get it done sooner,' said Jim Baumbick, vice president, advanced product development, cycle planning and programs, Ford Motor Company. 'We are taking global mid-size truck capability to a whole new level, straight from the factory.' 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty | Image: Supplied / Ford Australia 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty | Image: Supplied / Ford Australia 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty | Image: Supplied / Ford Australia 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty | Image: Supplied / Ford Australia What is the Payload and Towing Capacity of the Ford Ranger Super Duty? While the standard Ford Ranger manages 3.5-tonne towing, the Ford Ranger Super Duty manages an F-150-equalling 4.5-tonne braked towing capacity (when fitted with genuine Ford tow equipment). This is matched with a recalibrated integrated trailer brake controller and the carry-over Pro-Trailer Backup Assist and Smart Hitch. Payload is high, measured at Single Cab-Chassis: Single Cab-Chassis: Up to 1,982kg Super Cab-Chassis: Up to 1,896kg Double Cab-Chassis: Up to 1,825kg The Ranger Super Duty also carries a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 4,500kg and 8,000kg Gross Combined Mass (GCM). 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty | Image: Supplied / Ford Australia What's Under the Bonnet of the Ford Ranger Super Duty Under the bonnet of the Ford Ranger Super Duty is the brand's 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine, which is calibrated to meet EUVI heavy-duty vehicle emissions standards and includes AdBlue. That means it's down on power, producing 154kW of power at 3,250 rpm and 600Nm of torque at just 1750 rpm increased cooling to manage temperatures under load. That power figure is significantly down on the current V6 Ford Ranger model's 184kW at 3,250rpm and 600Nm at 1,750-2,250 rpm figures. 'This drivetrain will be delivered with EU6.2 compliance for global markets, meaning Ranger Super Duty is ready to work for years to come,' said Burn. Power is sent to the ground through a 4A (Automatic 4WD) permanent system and a 10-speed automatic gearbox with stronger components, a low-range gearset to match the F-Series Super Duty, and more. 'Ranger Super Duty's two-speed transfer case features larger, stronger components than other Ranger variants for enhanced durability,' said Burn. 'To ensure this truck can handle life in low-range in extreme terrain, the low-range gearset has been upgraded to match the F-Series Super Duty.' The Super Duty Ranger will come with locking front and rear differentials as standard in all models (like the Ranger Raptor), and the front differential is a modified version of the differential in the Bronco Raptor, updated for enhanced load capacity. You'll be able to delay the automatic diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration and then manually initiate the cleaning at a time that suits you. 'While a DPF is part of the emissions management system, being able to delay and then manually initiate a DPF clean will be a useful feature for those customers who operate in a high fire risk environment,' continued Burn. The Ranger Super Duty will feature six selectable drive modes (Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, Mud/Ruts, Sand and Rock Crawl) and adjust vehicle settings that include throttle and transmission response and stability control for off-road use. 'We've tested Ranger Super Duty in extreme conditions where a vehicle with open differentials would have become stuck and unable to proceed, but thanks to a locking front and rear differential and an enhanced low-range gearset, and a host of other off-road capability improvements, Ranger Super Duty performed flawlessly,' said Burn. 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty | Image: Supplied / Ford Australia Just How Tough is the New Ford Ranger Super Duty? 'We torture test our trucks to earn the name Super Duty,' he continued. 'For instance, to make sure Ranger Super Duty is ready for almost any work environment, we created an even tougher mud pack test to simulate mine work. Ranger Super Duty had to continue working, even with 600 kilograms of mud stuck to the bottom of the truck.' So tough was some of the testing on the rocky, dry riverbeds of Silver Creek, at the brand's You Yangs Proving Ground, that autonomous driving robots were used to run the vehicles 24 hours, 7 days a week. 'Our Silver Creek and autonomous driving robots were designed and developed in North America for the testing and development of the original F-Series Super Duty and have been a part of global Built Ford Tough testing ever since,' said Baumbick. This is on top of the usual durability tests that included 24/7 corrosion baths, towing dynos, shaker rig testing, extreme real-world off-roading, and more low-speed, low-range heavy load driving. 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty | Image: Supplied / Ford Australia When is the Ford Ranger Super Duty Coming to Australia? Ordering for Ranger Super Duty in Australia and New Zealand opens later this year, with arrivals in dealerships expected in 2026. As we mentioned at the top of this article, the new Ford Ranger Super Duty will be available in Australia in two trim levels, Ranger Super Duty will come first before the Ranger Super Duty XLT arrives in mid-2026. It will be available in 2026 as either a Single, Super or Double Cab Chassis before it's made available as a Double Cab with style-side box in mid-2026. 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty | Image: Supplied / Ford Australia

Prices for heavy load-ready Ford Ranger Super Duty released, but not for SA market
Prices for heavy load-ready Ford Ranger Super Duty released, but not for SA market While only set to go on-sale next year, Ford has revealed the previously unknown powertrain details of the first-ever Ranger Super Duty, as well as the newcomer's price tag in Australia. Shown in April as not only the most work-focused Ranger ever made, but the first non-F-Series to wear the Super Duty name, the newcomer slots-in between the 'regular' Ranger and F-150 in the Blue Oval's bakkie line-up, albeit only Down Under for now. The differences Described as a 'purpose-built truck designed for heavy-duty use', the Super Duty will initially be offered as a chassis cab in single, Super and double cab body styles and, as its description states, without the fitting of a factory loadbox. A traditional Australian-style steel tray can, however, be added as an optional extra. As depicted by the April launch model though, a factory loadbin-equipped Super Duty will be offered, but only later in the year and solely for the double cab with the XLT trim designation being applied. Compared to the standard Ranger, the Super Duty's exterior changes consist of a steel front bumper, a new grille, wider wheel arches, a new bonnet complete with Super Duty lettering, wider mirrors, a standard snorkel and a steel underbody protection bashplate. Underneath, the Super Duty sports a strengthened chassis, revised suspension, a long range 130-litre fuel tank and unique 18-inch wheels wrapped in 33-inch General Grabber all-terrain tyres. Hardcore fundamentals Known by now to have a tow rating of 4 500 kg, a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of 4 500 kg and gross combined mass (GCM) of over 8 000 kg, new information confirms a wading depth of 850 mm versus the normal Ranger's 800 mm, as well as the following payload ratings: • single cab chassis cab: 1 982 kg; • SuperCab chassis cab: 1 896 kg • double cab chassis cab: 1 825 kg Differing further is the ground clearance ratings at 299 mm for the single, 297 mm for the SuperCab and 295 mm for the double cab. Detuned V6 Besides the only interior change being an on-board scale display integrated into the 12-inch SYNC 4A infotainment system, as well as the Super Duty script on the passenger's side of the dashboard, up front, Ford has made the 3.0-litre Lion turbodiesel V6 available as the sole engine option, but in detuned form. Reported in April as the only option considered for the Super Duty, the unit now produces the same 154 kW as the bi-turbo 2.0-litre Panther engine instead of its regular 184 kW, but retains the same 600 Nm torque figure. As per usual, the only transmission option is the 10-speed automatic co-developed with General Motors. Price hint On the colour front, five hues have been made available: Arctic White, Command Grey, Shadow Black, Aluminium Silver and the Super Duty-exclusive Seismic Tan. A sixth, Traction Green, will added at a later stage. With the mentioned double cab-only XLT to arrive later, the three-model Super Duty range, as with the standard Aussie-market Ranger, will be produced in Thailand rather than at the Silverton Plant outside Pretoria, where the South African-spec Ranger is made. As such, no plans are currently in place to bring the Ranger Super Duty to market soon. • Ranger Super Duty chassis single cab – $82 990 (R971 454) • Ranger Super Duty chassis SuperCab – $86 490 (R1 012 424) • Ranger Super Duty chassis double cab – $89 990 (R1 053 394)

Ford has announced pricing for the Single Cab-Chassis, Super Cab-Chassis and Double Cab-Chassis body styles which will be the first Super Duty models on sale. The company has already confirmed the Ranger Super Duty Pickup and XLT Super Duty will follow on, joining the initial cab/chassis models in Ford Australia showrooms in late 2026. 'The Ranger Super Duty project was about pushing the boundaries of what a mid-size truck can achieve,' Drew O'Shannassy, Ranger Super Duty program supervisor said in a statement. 'We focused relentlessly on core capability – increasing GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass), GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating), and towing capacity – while ensuring the truck remains incredibly durable and easy to operate in challenging environments. 'The unique calibration of the V6 diesel ensures that crucial torque is available right where our customers need it for heavy loads, while meeting modern emissions standards.' The cab/chassis pricing doesn't include a tray, with Ford offering three different types: a galvanised steel tray, body colour steel tray or a matte black steel tray. The Ranger Super Duty Single Cab-Chassis will be $82,990 before on-road costs with an official licensed Ford tray adding between $7121 to $9376 including fitment and GST. That brings the total to between $90,111-$92,266 including a fitted tray before on-road costs, with the Super Duty Single Cab-Chassis offering 299mm ground clearance and payload of up to 1982kg. The Ranger Super Duty Super Cab-Chassis – offering more space behind the front seats – will be priced from $86,480, with trays priced from $6296 to $8551 including fitment and GST. This sees the Super Duty Super Cab-Chassis priced between $92,776 and $95,351 including a fitted tray before on-road costs, with 297mm ground clearance and up to 1896kg payload. The Ranger Super Duty Double Cab-Chassis will be $89,990 before on-roads – only $450 less than the Ranger Raptor list price – with trays priced from $5966 to $8166 including fitment. That brings the Super Duty Double Cab-Chassis up to $95,956 with the cheapest tray and $98,156 before on-road costs with the most expensive tray added. It comes with 295mm ground clearance and a payload of up to 1825kg. All three models have a 1710mm track width – matching that of the Ranger Raptor, which is 90mm wider than the rest of the Ranger lineup – and a braked towing capacity of 4500kg. They also have a front axle load rating of 1900kg and a rear axle load rating of 2800kg – compared to a best of 1450kg front and 1959kg rear on other model grades including Ranger XLT dual-cab. Ford says it has upgraded the cooling system for the Super Duty to improve performance and reliability with its increased towing as well as its higher 4500kg GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass) and 8000kg GCM (Gross Combined Mass). The size increase also gives the Super Duty 50mm higher water wading capability, with all three trim levels announced so far boasting 850mm water wading. The Super Duty lineup will use the 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine already offered in other model grades, making the same 154kW at 3250rpm and 600Nm at 1750rpm. Arctic White is included in the list price, with Seismic Tan – unique to Super Duty models – Shadow Black, Command Grey and Aluminium Metallic available for an additional $750. Watch: Ford Ranger Super Duty tested to near failure with brutal regimen
Ford has shown the lengths it is willing to go to ensure the Ranger Super Duty is as tough as any Blue Oval bakkie that has ever come before it. Watch the robot-driven torture below. Looking for a new or used Ford? Find it here with CARmag! Development is already underway, and Ford recently gave a glimpse into the kind of punishment the Super Duty is going through at the You Yangs Proving Ground in Australia. To push the limits, they've handed the driving duties over to a robot, literally. The automated test driver has been running the Ranger Super Duty flat-out on the brutal Silver Creek track, a loop packed with 300 uneven bumps designed to simulate years of abuse. With the truck loaded to its full 4 500kg gross vehicle mass, the robot runs it nonstop, pounding everything from suspension components to door hinges. According to Ford, it's the equivalent of a decade of rough treatment in just a few weeks. Related: Ford Ranger Super Duty Arrives as Hardcore Workhorse for Aussies In terms of the bakkie itself, it will be easily distinguishable from the standard Ranger. It is replete with a wider and taller stature, alongside 33-inch all-terrain tyres, a snorkel, bigger mirrors, and an off-road bumper, along with fender flares and a unique grille. Underneath, it rides on a reinforced chassis with more ground clearance and a wider track. Ford has also added practical upgrades like a larger fuel tank, built-in scales in the bed and front and rear diff locks. Power comes from the same 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel found in the regular Ranger, but tuned to meet heavy-duty emissions standards. It's still got enough muscle to haul a serious load, towing capacity has jumped to 4 500kg, a full tonne more than the standard model. For anyone who needs a bakkie that can take a beating and keep going, the Ranger Super Duty looks like it's being built for exactly that.
