GRANT HILL TO JOIN NBC SPORTS' NBA COVERAGE AS GAME ANALYST
Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer and Seven-Time NBA All-Star Begins Role This Fall when the NBA Returns to NBC and Debuts on Peacock STAMFORD, Conn. – June 24, 2025 – Grant Hill, a member of both the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame, will join NBC Sports' NBA coverage as a game analyst when the NBA returns to NBC and debuts on Peacock this fall. Hill's illustrious 18-season NBA career includes countless accomplishments and accolades: a seven-time NBA All-Star, including four consecutive appearances from 1995-1998; five-time All-NBA selection, including First Team in 1997; NBA Co-Rookie of the Year in 1995; a gold medalist with Team USA at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics; three-time NBA Sportsmanship Award winner; and culminated his professional career with enshrinement in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018. Throughout his career, Hill spent time with the Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, and Los Angeles Clippers. Since retiring in 2013, Hill has made a successful transition to NBA and college basketball broadcasting, having called the past 10 Final Fours as an analyst for TNT Sports and CBS Sports' joint coverage of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament as well as high-profile regular season NBA games and playoff series. His versatility as a broadcaster extends to the studio, where he has spent time as a host and analyst on programs such as NBA TV's GameTime and NBA Inside Stuff. Hill will continue his role at TNT Sports, serving as a college basketball analyst for TNT Sports and CBS Sports' joint coverage of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament as well as TNT's coverage of Big East and Big 12 basketball. Hill is fully entrenched within the game of basketball. In addition to his playing and broadcasting careers, he's currently USA Basketball's managing director of the U.S. Men's National Team, succeeding Jerry Colangelo in the position and helping Team USA earn a gold medal victory at the Paris Olympics in 2024. Hill is a part-owner of the Atlanta Hawks and co-owner of MLS' Orlando City SC and NWSL's Orlando Pride, and is also part of the Baltimore Orioles' ownership group. 'With an unparalleled basketball resume which includes Coach K calling him the best player to ever suit up for Duke, Grant will be a tremendous asset to our coverage,' said Sam Flood, Executive Producer, NBC Sports. The third overall pick by the Pistons in 1994, Hill had a storied college career at Duke, winning back-to-back national titles in 1991 and 1992 and becoming only the eighth player in Duke history to have his jersey number retired. He was an integral part of one of the most famous plays in college basketball history in the 1992 East Regional Final, heaving the inbounds pass three-quarters of the length of the court to his teammate, Christian Laettner, who hit a game-winning jump shot as time expired to send the Blue Devils to the Final Four. During Hill's time as a Blue Devil, he was named ACC Player of the Year in 1994 and was a two-time All-American. Hill was inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014, Duke Sports Hall of Fame in 2016 and was named to the ACC 50th Anniversary men's basketball team in 2002. Dawn Staley reveals why she'd want WNBA ownership in Philly over coaching Kylie Kelce has welcomed some truly incredible guests since starting her podcast, Not Gonna Lie back in early December. The mom of four and media personality has had engaging interviews with former First Lady Michelle Obama, Kaitlin Olsen of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Olympians like Alex Morgan, Gabby Thomas and Ilona Maher, rocker Avril Lavigne, actress Kat Dennings, American Idol winner and daytime host Kelly Clarkson and more. This week, Kelce added to the prestigious list of women she's had on her show thus far, inviting women's basketball icon Dawn Staley to chat. Hundreds Flock To 75th Indoor Bowling Nationals - This Year Held In Ashburton
Over 500 indoor bowlers are descending on Ashburton this Friday to compete in this years 75th Indoor Bowling National Championships. The Championships will be held at the EA Networks Sports Centre and take eight days of intensive competition to complete. Due to the large entry, the entire floor space will be utilised with over 80 mats being used. This is the second time that Ashburton has hosted the national championships, with them also playing host for the 2018 edition. Leading local contenders for national titles this year include Mat Bassett and Michael Lawson who are the defending Singles title-holder and Champion Pairs lead respectively. Indoor bowls is a sport that can be played by anyone of all ages, and entrants range from the ''Young Guns'' Fours team of Nathan Trowell (20), Matthew Foster (21), Malcom Trowell and Dylan Foster (19) who won the National Fours title in 2023 to Bernard Bennett from Tauranga, who is 93 years old and attended his first national championships in 1955! Though BC's season ended before the championship game for the first time since 2016, Sunday's title tilt between Northwestern and top-seeded North Carolina will have plenty for locals to root for. 'We have one more game and we are going to give it everything that we have,' said Humphrey. 'This team, I'm telling you, has a lot to give.' A large crowd should be on hand to see the duel between North Carolina and Northwestern. Friday's semifinals brought 10,080 fans to Gillette, the highest total for the women's tournament since 2022. Sunday should be even better despite BC's absence. Much of that is thanks to the legacy the Eagles have established through their consistency and style of play. 'I think the girls in our program play the right way,' said BC coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein. 'They play unselfishly. They play really gritty. They play really tough, and I think they have captured the hearts of a lot of young lacrosse players. Interest in women's lacrosse has always run high in Massachusetts, thanks to the quality of high school and club programs, but BC's run to the last eight Final Fours spurred on a new generation of lacrosse players and fans who will fill the stands on Sunday. High-profile players excel at recent Bowls SA Women's Open
This past weekend, Championship Sunday at the Bowls SA Women's Open didn't disappoint once again as the leading players battled their way into contention with the hopes of being crowned South Africa's best for 2025. South Africa's newest Open Singles champion is Bridget Herselman, who took some time off on Mother's Day to edge 21 year old Leila Snyman in a true spectacle of a finale. Herselman,, herself only 27 and a mom of little one, rose to the occasion in a match that looked like it could go either way throughout the contest. Eventually, it was Herselman who managed to prevail in the race to 21. Snyman showed her good form once more in the final and was up at the halfway stage but quite never far enough to make Herselman doubt her drawing abilities. Herselman, who has been something of a stalwart in the national setup, will now get to test her skills in the World Champion of Champions after finally relegating her young opponent 21-18. Another top South African performer Anneke Scheepers managed to ensure another gold medal return. Scheepers was eliminated by Snyman in the last eight of the Singles and lost in the semi-finals as a skip in the Fours leaving her Pairs campaign as her last chance. A 24-7 win over Esme Kruger and Lara York laid the platform for a resounding 27-6 over Claire Cowan and Elma Louw – ironically, the remaining members of Scheepers and pairs partner Megan Ferreira's Fours side. Those big wins sent Scheepers and Ferreira into the final full of confidence and it showed on the greens at Dellville Germiston as a comfortable 22-14 win followed in the final. Anneke Scheepers and Megan Ferreira won the Pairs title Remarkably, the Women's Fours final featured the two teams that faced off for gold last year. And once again, it the team skipped by Tracy Meyeridricks with Taz Bright at third and Charlotte Rossouw and Colleen Marshall in the front that managed to be the last team standing after a 22-18 win over South African international Esme Kruger and her team of Lara York, Ina and Rolinda Fourie. Ina Fourie replaced Nan Roos in the only change to the silver medallists. The attention now turns to Port Elizabeth as the Men's competition begins on Saturday, 17 May.
