Local organisations rally community to help abandoned babies
Two community-driven organisations, Free Chapel Church and Women Rocking, are urging residents of Alberton and surrounding areas to join their donation drive in support of Door of Hope.
Door of Hope is a non-profit organisation that rescues and cares for abandoned, orphaned, and abused babies.
'We want to make a difference and would appreciate it if the community could help us with the donations,' said Dorene van Tonder of Free Chapel Church.
Door of Hope operates baby homes in Glenvista and Berea, sheltering between 58 and 72 babies under the age of two.
With adoptions declining and child abandonment on the rise, the need for supplies is urgent.
