1,000 non-Hindus working in TTD, asserts Bhanu Prakash
Tirupati: Strongly defending Union minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar's allegations that 1,000 non-Hindus are working in TTD, BJP leader and TTD trust board member G Bhanu Prakash Reddy sought a door-to-door survey of TTD employees to find out non-Hindus working in TTD. Criticising YSRCP senior leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy for finding fault with Sanjay Kumar's statement, he dared him, who was also former TTD chairman, to press for the door-to-door survey. 'There are 22,000 employees, including contract and outsourced and regular, in which many are still practising other religious faiths in their homes. I myself asked the management to take up a door-to-door survey to find out those TTD employees following other religion during TTD board meetings,' he said. He said such employees work in TTD, a Hindu religious institution, but reluctant to take Swamy vari prasadam or harathi. He wanted Karunakar Reddy stop deriving political mileage out of Sanjay Kumar's statement and extend his support to clean the TTD administration. He further said people will not forget the irregularities that had taken place in TTD during YSRCP rule 2019-24 and also appointing a Nasthika (non-believer) as TTD chairman.

Non-Hindus shouldn't be working in TTD: Bandi
Tirupati: Union minister of state for Home affairs Bandi Sanjay expressed strong resentment over the delay in the ouster of non-Hindus from the payrolls of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams . Speaking to reporters along with TTD board member G Bhanu Prakash Reddy after offering prayers to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on Friday, the Union minister questioned as to how non-Hindus were provided employment in the TTD in the very first place. "Does anyone provide employment for the Hindus at mosques and churches", he questioned. Pointing out to the TTD administration suspending AEO A Rajasekhar recently after he was found to be worshipping at a local church at Puttur regularly, Bandi Sanjay questioned whether the TTD authorities will act only when such an exposure happens. The minister also called upon the TTD to extend support for the upliftment of ancient temples located in Telangana.

TTD vigilance wing begins probe into Rs 10 cr Tulabharam misappropriation
Tirupati: The Vigilance and Security Wing of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has launched a probe into allegations of misappropriation related to the Tulabharam ritual at the Tirumala temple. Tulabharam is an ancient tradition in which devotees make offerings to the presiding deity by sitting on one plate of a weighing scale while an equivalent weight of coins, jaggery, sugar, or other offerings is placed on the opposite plate. Due to administrative and security concerns, TTD has discontinued the acceptance of commodities and now accepts only cash donations for Tulabharam vows at the temple. The temple reportedly receives around 10–12 lakh per day through Tulabharam donations. These transactions are now managed by two banks. However, during the previous TTD administration under the YSRCP regime, outsourcing workers were assigned the responsibility of handling these large sums. TTD board member and BJP functionary G Bhanu Prakash Reddy recently alleged that outsourcing workers, in collusion with senior TTD officials, misappropriated Tulabharam donations between 2019 and 2024. Following these allegations, the TTD's vigilance wing has initiated an investigation and is summoning former outsourcing staff who worked at the Tulabharam counters during the previous regime. Sources in the vigilance department revealed that the procedures for collecting donations, reconciling accounts, and depositing funds into banks are all under close scrutiny. The probe has reportedly zeroed in on one outsourcing staff member who is suspected of amassing wealth worth approximately 10 crore, despite earning a monthly salary of just 14,000.

TTD board member demands probe into equipment purchase scam
Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust board member and BJP state secretary G Bhanu Prakash Reddy has demanded a probe into the machinery purchase scam reported at the TTD ayurvedic hospital during the YSRCP regime. He alleged that funds of Rs 4 crore was siphoned off by procuring defunct and sub-standard machinery for the TTD-run Sri Venkateswara ayurvedic hospital in Tirupati. "Many equipment purchased through the flawed tender system adopted by the previous regime failed to work on the very first day. They have neither been returned or replaced, and remain defunct at the hospital premises to this very day. There have also been complaints and allegations over hundreds of crores spent in the name of infrastructure upgradation at other TTD-run hospitals including Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) and BIRRD, and there is an urgent need to enquire into all these allegations," the TTD board member demanded. He dared former TTD chairmen Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and YV Subba Reddy to inspect the equipment purchased during their tenure at the ayurvedic hospital in Tirupati and come for an open debate on the issue.

BJP alleges irregularities in machinery purchase in TTD
Tirupati: BJP senior leader and TTD trust board member G Bhanu Prakash Reddy alleged irregularities in the purchase of machinery by TTD for its Srinivasa Ayurvedic Pharmacy located in Srinivasa Mangapuram 12 km from here. Speaking to media persons here on Monday, Bhanu Prakash said in 2022, machines with total cost of Rs 3.9 crore were purchased for production of Ayurvedic medicines, including powder and also tablets but they were of inferior quality. All the machines like grinders, packaging machines broke down resulting in loss to TTD. The machinery was purchased as part of increasing the production of Ayurvedic medicines in Srinivasa Pharmacy set up by TTD for its Ayurvedic Hospitals and also Ayush(Government of India) to get revenue to TTD. Surprisingly, the TTD authorities remained silent on the defective machines causing loss to TTD. He alleged that this was due to political pressure as the supplier of the machines enjoyed the support of the then ruling YSRCP leaders and the machines were purchased for the Srinivasa Pharmacy to benefit a YSRCP leader, he alleged. Bhanu Prakash Reddy said he had already brought the irregularities in the Srinivasa Pharmacy machines purchase to TTD chairman's notice to order an inquiry. On his part, Reddy said he is filing a complaint with the police in a day or two on the irregularities. He dared the former TTD chairman and YSRCP senior leader Y V Subba Reddy, during whose tenure machines were bought, and his successor Bhumana Karunakar Reddy for public debate on the irregularities that took place in TTD during YSRCP period. 'The entire 5 year rule of YSRCP was full of scams in TTD, be it Parakamani, Thulabharam, various constructions and purchase of machinery in SVIMS and in Srinivasa Pharmacy,' he said, adding that the NDA alliance will unearth all these and see all the guilty were punished.
