Barack Obama charging twice as much as Beyoncé for top VIP package at London show
Barack Obama is giving Beyoncé a run for her money by charging more than double her top VIP ticket price for his upcoming London show, with packages going up to £1,790. The 44th president of the United States faced a number of challenges while in office, from steering the country through the 2008 financial crisis and passing healthcare reform, to managing ongoing wars and tackling climate change. He remains a hugely popular figure worldwide, with many eager to hear his take on today's issues, and judging by the prices, his fans are willing to pay. Titled An Evening With President Barack Obama, it is scheduled to take place at London's O2 Arena on September 24, followed by a date at Dublin's 3Arena on September 26. The top VIP package includes a photo opportunity with Obama, subject to security clearance, and is limited to one photo for every two guests. The Standard has confirmed that these tickets will only be sold in pairs, so solo attendees won't have the option to purchase this package or be paired with strangers for the photo. The package also offers early entry, VIP check-in, a commemorative ticket, a copy of his memoir A Promised Land, premium seats near the front, and post-show access to a private club with a bar and live music. In comparison, global superstar Beyoncé's top VIP tickets for her recent Cowboy Carter tour at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium cost around £860. Those included premium seats, early entry, exclusive merchandise, and access to private lounges. Beyoncé and Obama share history, with the singer performing the National Anthem at his second inauguration in 2013. Another VIP option offered by Obama is a £895 dining package that comes with a four-course meal at posh steakhouse Gaucho. This also includes a welcome glass of champagne, seating within the first ten rows, a copy of his book, and post-show access to the Seat Unique Club with a private bar and live entertainment. Other VIP prices start at £595, with standard tickets expected to be cheaper but likely to sell out fast. They go on sale at 10am on July 10. Organisers have also said that 100 tickets in each city will be set aside for charities. While Obama's shows are expected to fill up quickly, Beyoncé reportedly quietly gave away free tickets through London food banks after failing to sell out her six-date run in the capital.

Obama to host London event - here's how much tickets cost
Barack Obama is taking the stage in London this fall and offering guests the opportunity to say hello and share a drink. But the meet-and-greet with the former president will set you back a pretty penny, with tickets costing as much as $2,430 (£1,790). The 63-year-old's An Evening With President Barack Obama event will come to London's O2 Arena on September 24. Four VIP packages are currently available event organizer Seat Unique's website, ranging from $671 (£495) to more than $1,214 (£895) depending on the selected ticket package. The $1,214 dining package is nearly sold out with only six tickets remaining. It includes a four-course meal at the Gaucho steakhouse, a glass of champagne, a seat in the first ten rows at the O2, access to the Seat Unique Club afterparty, and a copy of Obama's book. General admission seats for the event, without all the bells and whistles of premium packages, are available for $172 (£127) each, according to Ticketmaster. A top tier VIP option, which according to the Evening Standard is only sold in pairs, will offer guests an opportunity to pose for a photo with Obama, subject to security clearance. The package is understood to be more expensive than the dining package, with the newspaper suggesting it will cost at least $2,430. However, the Daily Mail could not independently verify that price as these tickets appear to have already sold out. The cheapest hospitality package, titled the premium ticket, costs $671 per ticket and offers guests guaranteed premium seating, priority access to the arena, a welcome drink at the Seat Unique Club, post-show access to the club and a copy of Obama's new book. Two other hospitality packages - the Seventh Row and Seat Unique Club packages -cost $745 (£549) and $1,800 (£795), respectively. Tickets went on sale Thursday, with organizers having reportedly set aside 100 seats for charitable organizations. It is unclear if Obama, worth an estimated $70 million, will be donating any of the profits or ticket sales to charity or if he and Seat Unique will be pocketing the funds. Daily Mail has approached Seat Unique for further information. The event will see the president be interviewed by British-Nigerian historian David Olusoga. Obama is expected to speak about his experiences as a two-term US president and his thoughts on the future of the nation. The event organizers, in a statement to the Standard , said they are 'incredibly honored to bring President Obama to the UK'. 'His message of unity and progress resonates deeply, and we anticipate an evening that will inspire and empower all who attend,' the statement said. 'We believe in providing exceptional experiences, and this event perfectly aligns with our mission to connect people with inspiring moments.' Obama is a highly regarded speaker and in 2022 won an Emmy for best narrator for his work on the Netflix docuseries Our Great National Parks. He also previously won a Grammy for his audiobook reading of both his memoirs. But Obama's high-dollar prices are arguably a bit steep, with the top level ticket costing more than double what London-based Beyoncé fans paid to see her Cowboy Carter Tour last month.

A restaurant worker was dragged out of a training session to be told he'd won a £43,000 car and £10,000 cash in a spot the ball competition. Lewis Denner, from Cardiff, was in the first few days of his new job at the steakhouse chain Gaucho when presenters from BOTB turned up with a camera crew to present him with the prizes. The 28-year-old had travelled to Gaucho's Liverpool location and his bosses allowed him out of the training session to take a look at his brand new Ford Focus ST Edition. As he caught sight of the £43,000 car for the first time, he said: "I'm lost for words. This is amazing. BOTB's presenter Christian Williams surprised Lewis while he was training in Liverpool | BOTB 'I never expected to come up here to Liverpool for training and win a car. The only thing I've won before is probably something at a funfair. 'They say things happen in threes, so after getting a new job and winning a car and the cash, let's see what else happens.' And the next big surprise soon followed, as the BOTB team popped open the boot of the car to unveil Lewis's £10,000 cash prize. 'My head is blown,' he said. The father-of-one said he's likely to take the cash alternative rather than the car, and plans to put the money toward getting on the property ladder. 'I currently live with my parents, so this will go a long way towards me getting my own house,' he said. The Ford Focus ST Edition has 276bhp | BOTB 'I also don't currently drive, as it's easy enough to get about in Cardiff without a car. 'I'll also spend some money on my daughter, but definitely not on any more cuddly toys!' BOTB presenter Christian Williams, who delivered the good news in person, said: 'It's always special surprising winners, but catching Lewis in the middle of a work training session made it even more memorable. 'The Ford Focus ST Edition is a fantastic car – it looks incredible, handles beautifully, and packs serious power. 'Pair that with £10,000 in the boot, and it's a prize that will really change his life for the better.' BOTB has been giving away dream cars since 1999, and other prizes include holidays, luxury watches, and even a house. Tickets to win a dream car start at around 5p, and tickets to win the £685,000 house cost 99p. To find out more about the prizes on offer, click here.

Artbooth Gallery hosts solo show of Bruno Sfeir in national capital
Artbooth Gallery, located in the UAE capital, has inaugurated The Return to Essence, a solo exhibition showcasing the works of artist Bruno Sfeir (May 29 – July 13). The show explores a journey through imagination, memory, and abstraction. In the shifting lights of imagination and memory, Bruno Sfeir, a Lebanese-Uruguayan painter, is a singular voice in contemporary visual art — one whose work is perhaps as elusive as it is evocative. The artist gestures toward a body of work that resists piegonholing. His paintings flow freely between movements, influences, and inner visions. Though trained under disciples of the renowned Torres García workshop, Bruno has diverged from the Constructivist grid toward a more fluid and intuitive terrain. Geometry is present in his works, but it does not dictate creative terms and artistic conditions. Surrealist echoes also resound in the pieces, but never dominate. The compositions exist in a space of balance — a visual unity where rational structures intermingle with irrational forms, giving rise to an order that feels both intentional and instinctual. His work emerges as a subtle dance between the visible and the intangible, a profound exploration of the inner sensations that nourish human consciousness. Bruno captures and attempts to materialise the essence of inner experience, transforming it into compositions that radiate balance and harmony, though such expression is indeed difficult. Borges Cultural Center, Buenos Aires. Each stroke is an echo of his inner world, a window into a universe where order and serenity blend. His creative process is a journey in two directions: an immersion into his internal landscape and an interaction with the external world. Internally, his meditative practice, anchored in conscious respiration, sustains the creative dynamic. Externally, he imprints the canvas with the mark of his intuitions, each brushstroke reflecting the connection between his inner and outer worlds. Bruno's technical mastery and artistic training allow him to express himself with a refined, sophisticated, and subtle language. His distinctive voice has resonated across continents, leading to numerous exhibitions in international organisations like UNESCO in Paris, and cultural institutions such as the Museum of the Gaucho in Montevideo, the Renato Russo Cultural Center in Brasília, Borges Cultural Center in Buenos Aires, and the Cervantes Institute in Museum of the Gaucho, Montevideo, Uruguay, is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the country's cultural and historical heritage. ('Gaucho' is a cowboy from the South American pampas). The Renato Russo Cultural Center is a cultural institution run by the Secretariat of Culture of the Federal District. It is a public cultural centre and agency located in Brazil's capital, Brasilia, in the Federal District. In the heart of the city of Buenos Aires is the Borges Cultural Center, an important cultural enterprise created by the Foundation for the Arts, a non-profit civil organisation. It was inaugurated in 1995 inside the Galerías Pacífico, a building from the close of the 19th century, declared a National Historical Monument. The Cervantes Institute was created in 1991 with the aim of promoting the teaching of the Spanish language and disseminating the culture of Spain and Spanish-speaking countries. Bruno Sfeir at work. Each venue, like each canvas, becomes a point of passage for Bruno's works — another place, where reality and imagination intertwine. Nowhere is this more evident than in his latest series, unveiled in the Abu Dhabi exhibition. Here, the Uruguayan countryside is reimagined — not as it is seen, but as it is felt. In Surreal Countryside Scene, a cow grazes in familiar fields, yet the proportions bend, the forms twist, and the scene is transformed into a mystery — an invitation to look again, and more deeply. Similarly, Crossing the Countryside 1 presents a rider on horseback traversing a terrain where the very ground seems to pulse with peculiar shapes, destabilising the boundary between perception and dream. At the heart of Bruno's work lies a desire not to reproduce reality, but to remake it — to create a coherence born not of fidelity to nature, but of fidelity to the painting itself. Each canvas becomes a living entity, evolving as it seeks its own truth. Speaking of his artistic process, he says: 'My paintings may begin with the observation of a concrete reality, but as I paint, that reality moves and shifts according to the needs of the composition.' It is this dynamic — the dialogue between order and invention — that gives his work its quiet, resonant power. His singular vision has not gone unnoticed. Over the years, he has received several distinctions, including an Honorable Mention at the National Salon for the 75th Anniversary of Teatro Maccio in San José, a recognition from the Bank of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, and the Ministry of Tourism Award in Montevideo. The honours echo what his canvases already suggest: that here is an artist whose work transcends borders, geographical, stylistic, and perceptual. With this new collection, Bruno invites the viewer into a world where the boundaries between the real and the imagined dissolve like mist in open fields. The creations are not mere landscapes: they are dreamscapes, shaped by a vision which flows like water, and whose voice is entirely Bruno's own. Artbooth Gallery was founded by Roger El Khoury in 2019; it is dedicated to fostering cross-cultural artistic dialogue through a programme of exhibitions. With locations in Abu Dhabi and Seoul, it is a platform for both emerging and established artists, promoting innovative art from around the world, designed to provoke critical thought.
