The Fantastic Four's Producer Confirms Which Marvel Movie Will Feature The Team Next, But I'm More Interested In What He Said About The Kang Dynasty
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. It's no secret that the superhero family The Fantastic Four is poised to lead the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the coming decade. Part of the fun of Marvel Studios acquiring its 'toys' back from 20th Century Fox came in Kevin Feige being able to put his own stamp on the Fantastic Four and The X-Men, which gradually has been happening in the MCU. Naturally, there is a lot of attention being paid to the upcoming Avengers movies – Doomsday and Secret Wars – but beyond that, it will land on the mutants and the Future Foundation to carry the Marvel torch. Which means that the idea of 'superhero fatigue' is a myth to which Marvel Studios does not subscribe. Feige's dream production house plans to make Marvel movies for as long as possible, figuring out new ways to reinvent the genre. That topic came up while CinemaBlend was visiting the London set of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and asking producer Grant Curtis if he saw any signs of fatigue in this line of storytelling. Mind you, Curtis is producing one of Marvel's most-hyped movies. But he was candid when he addressed the idea of fatigue, and told us: I don't see it. I mean, just because I'm a fanboy at heart, and I continue to want to hear and see these stories. So, Kevin still gets my money. And I think there are a lot of great stories to tell. He is the great puppet master. I say that with all due respect, narratively. And I know he's got a lot more hits coming out of his brain that will continue to blow people's minds. … I'm not telling tales out of school. Kevin's been very transparent that these characters are in Avengers 5. So I do think (that) if we do our jobs right, and I think – as you guys are seeing – we are, I think we are teeing a lot of other stories up. If you are a fan of the comics, you know that the universe and beyond is truly the playground of the Fantastic Four. Back in 2008, the initial building blocks of the MCU had to rely on characters that Marvel had the rights to. Which is why the studio started with Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor as opposed to making an MCU Spider-Man movie straight out of the gate. In a way, with Phase 6, Marvel can figure out a way to start over, and reboot the MCU. The MCU Multiverse gives the company a lot of freedom to bring in new versions of classic characters. But it also allows Marvel the creative leeway to rewrite the storyline when something as unexpected as the Jonathan Majors scandal takes root. To that end, we asked Grant Curtis about the previous plans to make Avengers 5 an adaptation of The Kang Dynasty, and how Matt Shakman's The Fantastic Four: First Steps had to shift its approach in the wake of those alterations. Curtis told CinemaBlend: Well, that is Avengers 5. And you know, the way Marvel works, I'm all in on Fantastic Four. I do know elements of what's going on outside of this (movie), but we're usually so focused on the task at hand. I can't tell you all the ins and outs of the Kang Dynasty and where that does or does not happen now. But yeah, we're just trying to tell the best story that we possibly can, so the audience cares about these characters, and wants to see more of them. We will know if that works when the third MCU movie of 2025, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, lands in theaters on July 25.

‘The Most Epic Of The Most Epic': Fantastic Four's Producer And Director Tease The Magnitude Of Galactus's Threat, And I'm Pumped About The Stakes In This Movie
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Although Galactus technically appeared in 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, it was in the form of a planet-sized cosmic cloud that never uttered a word. With the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps on the 2025 movies schedule next month, we're finally getting a faithful adaptation of the Devourer of Worlds, who's being played by Ralph Ineson. Needless to say that Galactus will be a huge threat, figuratively and literally, in the upcoming Marvel movie, and I'm even more pumped to see the magnitude of this after reading teases about it from producer Grant Curtis and director Matt Shakman. These teases were heard when CinemaBlend visited the set of The Fantastic Four: First Steps last year. At this point, Ineson's casting as Galactus had been public knowledge for several months, but we had yet to see any kind of official peek at the antagonist who debuted in the pages of 1966's Fantastic Four #48. Starting off, here's what Grant Curtis had to say about what we can expect from Galactus when he comes to the movie's 1960s retrofuturistic Earth: The most epic of the most epic that you could imagine? Because that's the global stakes we're dealing with. The universal stakes we're dealing with. And it's not a spoiler that Galactus … when Galactus's gaze comes across your planet, you're not in a good spot. And so I think that that's as big of a scope and skill you could ever ask a villain to bring with him or her. And that is what Galactus brings. More Fantastic Four Coverage I Have So Much Confidence In Fantastic Four Being 'Massive' After Visiting The Film's Set And Hearing How The Team Will Be Added To 'The Mount Rushmore Of The MCU' Fantastic Four's Director Confirms That Reed Richards' Lab Has Three Distinct Sections, And Tells Us What They're For (Plus Shoots Down One Rumor From The Comics) In The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Galactus and his herald, Julia Garner's Silver Surfer, arrive to the Fantastic Four's Earth after Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards inadvertently gets their attention in his attempt to 'stretch the bounds of space.' For those unaware, Galactus doesn't devour planets for sport; he needs to do so in order to survive. This is one of the most powerful entities in this MCU universe, if not the entire multiverse, so if he notices your planet, it'll take nothing short of a miracle to prevent him from fulfilling that task. Of course, we know the Fantastic Four will return in Avengers: Doomsday, but I still worry that their Earth could be destroyed by the time The Fantastic Four: First Steps is over. It won't be much longer until that question is answered, but until then, here's what director Matt Shakman had to say about this depiction of Galactus: (He's) daunting to these characters, of course. And daunting to this world. Because he's larger than life in every possible way. He is 14 billion years old, and maybe a thousand feet tall, depending on a good day, . But, you know, he's a wonderful, classic Fantastic Four villain, and we wanted a chance to explore one of the greats – one of the great villains. As someone who read the early Stan Lee and Jack Kirby Fantastic Four comics as a kid, I'm looking forward to finally seeing Galactus properly realized on the big screen. There was a time when I thought he could succeed Thanos as the MCU's overarching big bad, so it'll be interesting to see how Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby's Sue Storm, Ebon Moss-Bachrach's Ben Grimm and Joseph Quinn's Johnny Storm neutralize Galactus on their own, assuming that's even possible. Maybe they'll just have to make due with warding him away from Earth, similar to their first encounter with him in the comics. In addition to Galactus and Silver Surfer, the titular stars of The Fantastic Four: First Steps will also clash with Mole Man, though it hasn't been officially confirmed who's playing him. See the superhero team in action starting July 25.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Featurette and Promo Shows Off Some New Footage — GeekTyrant
If you're even a little excited about Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps , this new behind-the-scenes featurette and promo spot is something you'll want to watch prior to tomorrow's big trailer. The featurette is currently screening in AMC Theaters and now making the rounds online gives us our best look yet at the MCU's fresh take on Marvel's First Family. There's a solid chunk of new footage sprinkled throughout the featurette, including shots of the team traversing what appears to be the massive, crumbled hand of Galactus. There's also a fun peek at Ebon Moss-Bachrach in full motion-capture gear as The Thing, offering a glimpse of how this character is being brought to life behind the scenes. AMC Theaters also lists the film's runtime at 115 minutes. While that hasn't been officially confirmed by Marvel, it lines up with previous reports. The producers also opened up about the surprising amount of effort that went into the Fantastic Four's new suits. Executive producers Grant Curtis and Tim Lewis told Kino: "We looked at over 100 shades of blue. It was a long, long process, but when you see it, you say, 'OK, now I understand why we have the right one.' It would have been very easy to choose blue number 12. But it wouldn't have had the same effect." We also get a quick but delightful glimpse of H.E.R.B.I.E., the team's robotic assistant, who seems to be more than just comic relief. Moss-Bachrach explained: "It's kind of an unexpected, beautiful relationship that develops as we shot. This character that the designers and art department created is really charming. "I just try to incorporate little moments with him into scenes. It's great to improvise with this creature. He makes me happy." This new sneak peek is hoping to reassure fans that Marvel is handling Fantastic Four with care, style, and a little heart. Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel's First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus' plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren't bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal. Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne have been cast in mystery roles. Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom is rumoured to appear, though that's surely a given with Avengers: Doomsday on the way. Director Matt Shakman worked with both Avatar: The Way of Water co-writer Josh Friedman and WandaVision 's Cam Squires on The Fantastic Four: First Steps ' screenplay, with Eric Pearson ( Black Widow ) later coming on board for a final polish. The movie is set to be released in theaters on July 25, 2025.

Fantastic Four producer teases the new Marvel movie's villain and says Galactus is "the most epic of the most epic that you can imagine"
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Whatever your expectations are for The Fantastic Four: First Steps villain Galactus, raise them – according to producer Grant Curtis, at least. "The most epic of the most epic that you can imagine," Curtis said in a new interview with Collider when asked what we can expect from the world-devouring entity. "Because that's the global stakes we're dealing with, the universal stakes we're dealing with. That's Galactus. When Galactus's gaze comes across your planet, you're not in a good spot. I think that's as big of a scope and scale you could ever ask a villain to bring with him or her. And that is what Galactus brings... One of the beautiful things about working with Kevin Feige and with [director] Matt Shakman, they are totally in on sci-fi." The movie's big bad will be played by Ralph Ineson, who's best known for his role in the UK version of The Office but has also appeared in movies like The Green Knight, The Northman, and Nosferatu. Julia Garner will play Galactus' herald, Silver Surfer. The character previously appeared in 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, where he was depicted as a cloud-like form, but First Steps is taking Galactus back to his comic book origins. We recently got our first look at him, headpiece and all, in an unlikely way: a Snapple promotion. As for Marvel's First Family, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach are bringing Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm to the MCU. The cast also includes John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Paul Walter Hauser. The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in theaters on July 25 as part of Marvel Phase 6.
