Heartbreaking weekend ahead for Jota families

The funerals of Liverpool star Diogo Jota and his younger brother André Silva will begin tomorrow afternoon in Portugal, just a day after both men died in a road smash in Northwestern Spain. Its believed the brothers were on their way to catch a ferry from Santander to the UK after Diogo Jota had been advised by doctors not to fly, following recent lung surgery. The wake for the Liverpool and Portugal ace and his younger brother, will take place in São Cosme Chapel about half an hour from their home city of Porto, where Diogo Jota married his childhood sweetheart Rute, just a fortnight ago. Like Jota, André Silva was also an academy graduate of FC Porto, impressing coaches during his time with the reserve side before making his debut with the first team in 2015 and then going on to play for Frankfurt, Milan and RB Leipzig in 2021. He was currently signed to the Portuguese side FC Penafiel. André Silva was also just recently married to his long time sweetheart Maria Rodriguez.
