Warning illegal bikes will be 'seized and destroyed' after rider caught by police
AN illegal bike was seized for being ridden antisocially and having no insurance after being spotted by police. Whilst conducting proactive patrols of the Rhymney area, Gwent Police officers saw this illegal bike being ridden on the road and on the pavements, posing a risk to pedestrians and other road users. Unfortunately for the rider, they got stuck between some metal railings and did not see the approaching unmarked police vehicle. Officers were able to take hold of the bike and it was seized for having no insurance. Gwent Police said: "The message and law is simple - these bikes are not to be used on the road or pavements, regardless of what excuse you come up with at the road side. They are NOT road legal and if stopped by police, they will be seized and destroyed. "We get numerous reports regarding the negative impact these bikes have on our communities and we will continue to take a robust approach."

Female showjumper and equestrian ‘sexually abused underage girl at stables'
A female showjumper and an equestrian allegedly sexually abused an underage girl, a court has heard. Lauren Jarvis, 26, and Guy Simmonds, who ran a riding school in Undy, Gwent, are accused of having a threesome with the now 16-year-old schoolgirl last January despite knowing she was below the age of consent. Simmonds allegedly groomed the girl, 'repeatedly' had sex with her in a horse trailer at his stables and called himself 'daddy'. Cardiff Crown Court heard that he had said 'Who am I having first?' before having sex at Jarvis's home with her and the girl. He is accused of six counts of sexual activity with a child. Jarvis, of Newport, faces one charge of sexual activity with a child. Both have denied all charges. The court heard that Simmonds added the girl on Facebook and later sexually touched her in the tack room at his stables, where equestrian equipment was stored. Jurors heard that he later told her: 'You best be able to keep a secret' after leading her to his horse box, fitted with a bed, to have sex. The court heard Simmonds had sex with her on multiple occasions. The victim told police he would become 'aggressive' with her afterwards and left her feeling as though she had done 'something wrong'. She said: 'It was the aggressiveness that got worse. I would think to myself 'You have just done that with me. What have I done wrong?'' The court heard Simmonds and Jarvis carried out a threesome with the victim in Jarvis's home in January last year. In one message read to the court, the girl asked Simmonds what he would make her do and he replied: 'You will both do what daddy says. It will be fun.' The court heard there was a 'clear element of grooming behaviour' from Simmonds and that both defendants had 'no doubt at all' about the victim's age. 'The defendants didn't care about her age when they were planning and engaging in a so-called threesome with the victim,' said James Hartson, the prosecutor. He added that the alarm had been raised when the victim revealed what had happened and her father alerted police. Simmonds later messaged Jarvis saying: 'Hey, I have a feeling that she has said about us. If anyone asks for sake of both of us nothing ever happened that night xx.' Jarvis replied: 'Hey, who's she told? Oh god has she really, what's she trying to do, make our lives hell? Of course I will xx.' Simmonds insisted to police that he had no form of sexual contact with the victim, alleging that the messages regarding the threesome were simply 'banter and a wind-up'. The trial continues.

'Smirking' showjumper asked 'Who am I having first?' as he began threesome with horse rider, 26, and underage girl, court hears
A 'smirking' showjumper asked 'who am I having first?' before having a threesome with a 26-year-old horse rider and an underage girl, a court has heard. Equestrian boss Guy Simmonds, 37, and fellow rider Lauren Jarvis, 26, allegedly engaged in the sexual act with the 16-year-old schoolgirl in January last year. Simmonds, who described himself as 'daddy' in messages sent to the youngster, would also use a horse trailer to have 'repeated' sex with her while his own girlfriend was away, a court has heard. Prior to the alleged threesome which took place at Jarvis' home, the pair exchanged messages to hatch their plan, with the equestrian boss asking Jarvis when he should 'pop over' for a threesome. It is then claimed that Simmonds messaged the young girl informing her of the proposed act, telling her: 'You will both do what daddy says.' He then allegedly asked: 'Who am I having first?'. The young girl also claimed that Simmonds had made both her and Jarvis 'do stuff' with each other prior to having sex with both of them. Simmonds, of Undy, Gwent, is accused of six counts of sexual activity with a child, while Jarvis, of Newport faces one charge of sexual activity with a child. Both have denied all charges against them. Prior to the alleged threesome which took place at Lauren Jarvis' (pictured) home, the pair exchanged messages to hatch their plan, with the equestrian boss asking Jarvis when he should 'pop over' for a threesome On one occasion, Simmonds, who had initially added the underage girl on Facebook, allegedly filmed the young victim while having sex with her, with the victim stating he had 'a little smirk on his face' throughout, the court heard. She told police that the showjumper would often become 'aggressive' with her as they 'repeatedly' had sex at his stables, leaving her feeling like she had 'done something wrong'. Jurors at Cardiff Crown Court heard that both Simmonds and Jarvis 'agreed a pact of silence' after they 'got wind' that the victim had began to discuss the alleged sexual incident. Simmonds had started sexually touching the schoolgirl in the tack room of his stables just weeks after they first met in person. He later told her: 'You best be able to keep a secret' after leading her to his horse box to have sex, the court heard. Mr Hartson said Simmonds and Jarvis still had a threesome with the victim even though they had 'no doubt at all' about the victim's age. The court also heard that Jarvis had agreed that it was 'absolutely fine' with her, with Mr Hartson stating that Jarvis was a 'willing' partner in the sex. In a later message exchanged between the pair, Simmonds checks whether the girl is there yet and said: 'I don't want to turn up at the same time that her mum drops her off.' Meanwhile, in another message exchanged regarding the threesome, the girl asks Simmonds what he would make them do. The young girl eventually reported the instances to her father. In a police interview, she said that she was fearful of walking away from Simmonds and had not reported the crimes sooner due to concerns that he may 'hurt her'. When Jarvis and Simmonds began to realise the underage girl may have revealed the incident, Simmonds is said to have messaged Jarvis: 'Hey, I have a feeling that she has said about us. If anyone asks for sake of both of us nothing ever happened that night xx.' Jarvis then replied: 'Hey, who's she told? Oh god has she really, what's she trying to do, make our lives hell? Of course I will xx.' On one occasion, Simmonds, who had initially added the underage girl on Facebook, allegedly filmed the young victim while having sex with her, with the victim stating he had 'a little smirk on his face', Cardiff Crown Court (pictured) heard Prosecutor James Hartson declared that there had been a 'clear element of grooming behaviour' from Simmonds who had 'no doubt at all' about the victim's age. At the time of the incident, he had been advertising his riding school as 'showjumping horse production and sales, coaching and schooling' in the small village of Undy, Wales. Mr Hartson said: 'At all times he knew how old she was and so did Jarvis. The victim told him herself in one of the very first messages she sent him. 'The defendants didn't care about her age when they were planning and engaging in a so-called threesome with the victim.' Simmonds insisted to police that he had no form of sexual contact with the victim, alleging that the messages regarding the threesome were simply 'banter and a wind up'. The trial continues.

Police issue warning after dog treats laced with fishhooks found in popular walking spot
Dog treats laced with fishhooks have been found in several walking spots, police have warned. Pet owners have shared warnings on social media after finding fishhooks embedded in bone marrow chew sticks in popular walking spots in South Wales. The laced chew sticks were reported to be found around Blaen Brab Community Woodland in Cwmbran, Gwent. Posting in the Dogs of Torfaen Facebook page, Caroline Quigg warned the dog treats were found between Blaen Bran Woodland and the Mountain Air car park. In the post she said: 'WARNING TO DOG WALKERS! FROM BLAEN BRAN WOODLAND TO THE MOUNTAIN AIR CAR PARK... someone has put down marrow chew sticks with fishhooks inside them. Police have been called and a warning issued.' Gwent Police have been contacted for more information. It comes after similar chew sticks stuffed with fishhooks were also discovered by dog walkers on Castle Meadows in Abergavenny in June. Charley Meats posted on Abergavenny Voice Facebook Page that he found treats with three hooks stuffed inside them. He said: 'The eyes of the hooks were completely concealed within the middle of the treat, so no way to attach it to a line. My dog doesn't like water, and this was in the middle of castle meadows in the grass. Please be careful.' He explained his dog was rushed into emergency surgery with two hooks inside its stomach. The BBC reported Jon Moss, from Llantrisant near Cardiff, said his Spanish Mastin, Ripley, was seconds away from eating one of the laced dog treats while on a walk in Castle Meadows. He said he put his dog on a shorter leash after warnings from other dog walkers in the area and kept an eye out for the treats. "And sure enough, about five minutes later, on one of the little paths, I found one myself," he said. He believes if he did not use the shorter leash his dog would have eaten the harmful chew sticks. Gwent Police warned dog owners to be vigilant after initial reports of fishhooks in chew sticks in Abergavenny. Inspector Emma Sowrey said: "Following this report we will be carrying out patrols in the local area, we would encourage dog owners to be vigilant and if anyone has any information, they can contact the local council or ourselves."
