Hannah Stuelke, Team USA capture 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup title
In a rematch of the 2024 FIBA Women's AmeriCup Final, Team USA got its revenge against Brazil from Santiago, Chile, on Sunday night as Hannah Stuelke and the Americans captured the tournament title for the fifth time with a hard-fought 92-84 victory. Stuelke, who primarily factored in off the bench in small, segmented moments off the bench, played a significant role in the third and fourth quarters as Oklahoma center Raegan Beers' foul trouble became problematic for the Americans. Advertisement In her tournament-high 22:38 minutes of action, Stuelke finished with seven points on 2-for-2 from the field and 3-for-4 from the free-throw line. While her offensive numbers may not have been as exciting, the senior Hawkeyes forward was pivotal on the defensive side of the ball as she registered seven rebounds, two steals, and one block, which helped propel the Americans to victory. Even though Iowa head coach Jan Jensen could not attend the tournament in Chile, she made sure to emphatically congratulate her star forward on social media as Stuelke now becomes the first Iowa women's basketball player to win a gold medal in an international tournament. After returning home from Chile with the gold-medal-winning Team USA contingency, Stuelke will join the rest of her Iowa teammates as the Hawkeyes prepare for their upcoming 2025-26 season in early November. Hannah Stuelke, Team USA defeat Canada
In her first year as part of the Team USA roster, Iowa women's basketball star forward Hannah Stuelke and the United States (6-0) secured a spot in the 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup Final with a hard-fought 65-52 win over Team Canada in the tournament semifinal on Saturday evening from Santiago, Chile. Hidalgo led Team USA in scoring on the night by posting 19 points on 8-for-18 shooting.
