Anton Du Beke's wife's cryptic response hints at what Strictly star is really like

Antjson Du Beke's wife Hannah Summers has offered a rare insight into what the Strictly Come Dancing star is like away from the cameras and the glitz and glamour of the dance floor Anton Du Beke's wife, Hannah Summers, delivered a revealing nine-word reply when questioned about what her Strictly Come Dancing star husband is truly like behind the scenes of his glittering TV career. ‌ The Strictly judge, who marks his 59th birthday today, has been a constant fixture on our television screens since joining the programme's professional dance troupe back in 2004. ‌ Following 16 years of competing for the coveted glitterball trophy on the BBC programme, he made the transition from the dance floor to the judging panel in 2020, where he continues to preside. ‌ Beyond his Strictly commitments, Anton discovered romance in 2011 when he first encountered Hannah Summers at Surrey's Wentworth Golf Club. Their fateful meeting occurred whilst he was indulging in a few rounds of golf - one of his cherished pastimes outside the ballroom, reports Wales Online. ‌ Several years down the line, the couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony and welcomed twins George and Henrietta on March 30, 2017. During a recent chat with The Telegraph, Anton appeared keen to avoid sounding conceited when posed the question: "What is your best personality trait?" He responded: "This isn't a question for me, this is a question for someone else! I don't know - probably should ask my wife. Can I call my wife?". ‌ Upon taking her husband's call, she offered a rather enigmatic answer: "Everybody always asks me, 'Is he really like that in real life?'" (Emphasis on that. ) "Yes, he is... But it's for you to decide what the 'that' is!" Now blissfully wed and bringing up their two little ones at their Buckinghamshire residence, Anton has candidly discussed the challenges his wife faced when trying to conceive, owing to her endometriosis. ‌ During a touching reflection on their IVF experience on Giovanna Fletcher's Happy mum Happy Baby podcast, Anton shared with the presenter: "Then we went through the process of IVF - well, crying out loud. You girls are extraordinary." He went on to explain: "As much as I want to get involved, all I can do is hold your hand. It makes me emotional every time I talk about it. The injections, the stress, the anxiety. I have anxiety and stress, but it's not my body." Beyond his domestic life, Anton has graced numerous television programmes through the years, such as Kate Garraway's Life Stories, Countdown, The Weakest Link, and Would I Lie To You? He's also taken part in several pantomimes in recent times.

These are the 10 best cities in the US according to travel expert — with a shocker No. 1 pick

America is home to some incredible places — and one travel expert just shared their top 10 favorite cities in the country. According to travel writer Hannah Summers, Detroit, Michigan, is the — shocking — No. 1 pick. The Midwest city's recent resurgence helped it earn the list's top spot. 'The revamp and official reopening in 2024 of the once glamorous, then derelict Michigan Central Station symbolised a new era for the birthplace of Motown music,' she wrote in a story for the Times. 'But there had been signs of change and renewal for decades, with fresh, independent restaurants and great community initiatives: the city has a true entrepreneurial spirit.' San Diego, California, came in second place for her, and unsurprisingly, the vibrant city of Miami, Florida, rounded out the top three. 'There's one city in the US that I urge everyone who loves beaches to visit — Miami. It's a place that has it all,' she wrote about the popular tourist spot. The vibrant city of Miami, Florida, made the top three. REUTERS A head-scratching choice is Providence, Rhode Island, which came in fourth place. Summers described it as an 'under-the-radar' city that isn't as well-known as Boston, which is an hour's drive south, but that doesn't mean it's not a top-tier city. The writer raved about the Rhode Island city's food scene — which is filled with up-and-coming 'big-name chefs,' mom and pop donut shops and 'old-school Italian delis in the Federal Hill neighbourhood.' The Big Apple did make the list, but sadly, further down, earning the eighth place slot. She mentioned the touristy spots like Central Park and Times Square — 'But there are plenty of other great ways to see the city, from kayaking along the Hudson River to joining an afternoon sailing trip (book via Airbnb Experiences), tacking past the Statue of Liberty.' Plus, she gave a shoutout to some of the boroughs. NYC came in eighth place. Christopher Sadowski Denver, Colorado, came in last on the list. Summers mentioned how it's one of the 'most liveable cities in the US' complete with antique shops, food balls, and 'excellent museums such as the Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art and the kid-friendly Denver Museum of Nature & Science.' Here are the top 10 best cities in the US 1. Detroit 2. San Diego 3. Miami 4. Providence 5. Austin 6. Scottsdale 7. New Orleans 8. New York City 9. Savannah 10. Denver When it comes to where the happiest cities in the world are — that list might be even more of a shocker. Copenhagen, Denmark, was named the happiest city in the world in 2025 by the Institute for Quality of Life. Surprising news for New Yorkers — and probably the rest of the country — is that the Big Apple was ranked No.1 as the so-called happiest city in the US. Year after year, the Institute ranks cities committed to 'cultivating and growing happiness,' according to their site.
