Putrajaya PKR files report against Harakah over anti-Anwar rally
Putrajaya PKR deputy chief Shariff Jeev (third from left) and other division leaders after filing the police report at the district police headquarters. PUTRAJAYA : Putrajaya PKR has lodged a police report against PAS organ Harakah Daily over an allegedly seditious article that promotes a protest against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. At a press conference outside the district police headquarters, the division's deputy chief Shariff Jeev claimed the article contained seditious content that would incite Malaysians. 'We urge the police to investigate the article and the planned protests under Section 124B of the Penal Code (for committing an activity detrimental to parliamentary democracy) or any appropriate law,' he said. When asked if he wanted the authorities to prevent the rally from going ahead, he said it should be allowed to proceed if it was held in an 'appropriate way'. Shariff nonetheless claimed that the protest planned for July 26 could become a threat to the country's peaceful way of life and its parliamentary democracy. 'So far, 52 police reports have been lodged throughout the country, including in Sabah and Sarawak. Today alone six reports were filed', he added. Putrajaya PKR information chief Hafiz Osman called for the protest to be held somewhere else instead of Dataran Merdeka to prevent it from 'spiralling out of control'. 'We do not want the protesters to provoke others. We hope the police will be able to cordon off the area.' The rally organised by Perikatan Nasional aims to push for Anwar's resignation as prime minister. Last week, over 300 rallied in Shah Alam for the same cause. The smaller rally was held to promote the Dataran Merdeka protest.

Perhaps time for PAS members to pass the Milo tin to ‘bail out' their debt-laden HarakahDaily
SUCH is the teaser levelled at PAS mouthpiece HarakahDaily by a pro-Madani keyboard warrior after it was revealed that the publication has yet to settle a RM2.4 mil debt – believed to be backdated to 2017 – owed to its printer NAJ Press Resources (M) Sdn Bhd. 'How many PAS members are there? PAS has over one million members. If each member forks out RM3, the debt can already be paid 🤔' proposed ReeN 🇵🇸 (@ReeNGaston) in reaction to a viral TikTok video by debt collector agency Asia Pro Consultancy Sdn Bhd. 'Can't even settle RM2 mil yet you aspire to become the government?' Hutang 2 juta lebih tak boleh settle ? Berapa orang ahli PAS ? PAS ada 1 juta lebih ahli. Setiap ahli allocate RM3 seorang, dah boleh bayar hutang 🤔 Hutang 2 juta pun tak boleh settle, ada hati nak jadi kerajaan ?@PASPusat @abdulhadiawang @titm_official @harakahdailyHD — ReeN 🇵🇸 (@ReeNGaston) June 22, 2025 The poster went on top back her argument with a statement by PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan during the PAS general assembly on Sept 15 last year that PAS currently has 1.05 million members or an increase of 10,000 headcount from the previous year. In the original TikTok post, the debt collector acting on behalf of NAJ Press has appealed to the HarakahDaily management, particularly its board of director chaired by PAS vice-president and Bagan Serai MP Datuk Idris Ahmad to resolve the matter cordially. 'Avoiding to discuss settlement professionally with Asia Pro Consultancy will not solve the problem,' lamented the debt collector. 'The agreement letter is not fake. As an MP, you should be very concerned about the problem because debt settlement is highly emphasised in Islamic teaching.' As what can be viewed from the video, the debt collector on duty can be seen berating the HarakahDaily management which has locked its entrance door to prevent Asia Pro Consultancy representatives from entering its premises. 'The pending settlement has caused hardship to the press owner Haji Azlan who is short of financial resources to even undergo an urgent operation,' fumed the debt collector. Another Pakatan Harapan (PH) backers wondered why PAS practises double standards when it comes to debt settlement process. 'Why are PAS leaders silent on HarakahDaily's debts when the party would decree as jihad and swiftly pass around Milo tins to settle defamation suits against its leaders … But when labelled as penunggang agama (religious hypocrites) its staunch supporters will jump up the wall. 🤣' wondered Facebooker Elly Yusuf. – June 24, 2025

'PAS still needs Hadi's wisdom even if he has to be stretchered to attend party events'
ALTHOUGH the health of PAS president Tan Seri Hadi Awang has deteriorating to the extent that he is frequently in and out of the hospital, the need for his leadership remains 'very urgent'. Such is the reaction of PAS spiritual leader Datuk Hashim Jasin who claimed that he has not personally heard confirmation from the seven-term Marang MP regarding any intention to step down. However, Hashim admitted that there are rumours of concern among members regarding Hadi who often falls ill and requiring medical treatment. 'I didn't hear it myself. But last month he (Hadi) called me and chatted about him going in and out of the ward,' the former PAS Perlis state commissioner gave HarakahDaily an exclusive interview ahead of the 71st PAS annual assembly in Septemeber 2025. 'Some people felt sorry for him because he's in a condition where he doesn't only need to be hand-held to walk but has to be stretchered (diusung) to attend events.' Despite Hadi's heath struggle, Hashim stressed that PAS grassroots are still looking up to the former's leadership. 'The important thing is that PAS members as a whole still need his leadership even though he's physically very weak by having to going in and out of the ward,' stressed the former Sanglang state assemblyman. Mind still sharp 'Here I think the view of our members is that firstly, he should continue although some feel he that he should rest given his health issues. 'If I were to be sick like that, I wouldn't have done anything else. But he still gives Friday lectures and if we follow along, we can't tell if he's healthy or sick. His thoughts and delivery are still consistent.' Whatever the case is, Hashim said proper consideration has to be taken into account as to whether Hadi will continue to lead PAS or step down from the Islamist party. 'We are not asking him to quit although he certainly deserves a break if his illness persists. He should be allowed to continue if he wants to do so. If not, we shall continue to rely on his wisdom to move forward.' Commenting on the possibility of a change in leadership within PAS, Hashim was adamant that whoever replaces Hadi must come from among the ulama (religious scholar) hierarchy. 'PAS leaders cannot just rely on the rule of law but must also understand the political climate. This is not about rejecting the professionals/technocrats but the party's leadership must come from the ulama rank-and-file who can provide guidance to the professionals in today's political climate,' he asserted. 'In the event of a vacancy, among the figures well known to the president is Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man. However, the question of who will take over is not a pressing issue as long as Hadi is still willing and able to lead.' – June 13, 2025
