Mark Wright hits back at awkward Michelle Keegan question in rare family insight

Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan welcomed their first child, baby daughter Palma, in March this year and the former TOWIE star has now explained the true meaning behind her name New parents Mark Wright, 38, and Michelle Keegan, 38, have been the talk of the town since welcoming their baby daughter Palma in March, with her distinctive name sparking curiosity among fans. Mark has now revealed the inspiration behind their choice of name for their bundle of joy during a chat with his Heart FM colleague, Olly Murs, 41, who's also expecting his second child with wife Amelia. ‌ During a discussion about baby names, Olly queried Mark: "In the break we were talking about baby names. When you picked Palma, it's such a beautiful name, was there any reason behind that?". ‌ Mark shared the backstory: "So, in America, a lot of people call their kid Palmer, P-a-l-m-e-r, and we liked it, we just thought it sounded good with Wright. "And then we were like, hang on a minute, we're lucky enough to have a place in Majorca, in Palma, Palma is our favourite place in the world to go to. So we thought, let's just change the end of the e-r and change it to an a, so, because we love Palma, there you go!" Olly couldn't help but tease his mate by hinting that perhaps the Spanish city was where little Palma was conceived, jokingly saying: "So is that where you and Michelle, you know, wink-wink, had a bit of.." However, Mark quickly steered the conversation away, mindful of their listeners, and exclaimed: "Moving on! By the way her dad is a big fan of our show so...," leading to an apologetic response from Olly: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to!". The former TOWIE celeb playfully retorted, "Get to that next point Mursy! So what are you talking about baby names for?". ‌ Discussing impending fatherhood, X Factor 's Olly divulged that baby names were swirling in his head as his second tot is "coming very, very soon", prompting Mark to query: "How long have you got now, by the way?". Olly, known for the chart-topper 'Heart Skips a Beat', kept it coy: "I can't tell you. You know I like to keep things private, but Amelia is very big at the moment, so we're super excited." ‌ Expressing the whirl of emotions ahead, he added, "We're starting to get nervous, that excited feeling, nerves, we're coming to the business end of it now, so it's gonna be an interesting few months." Mark couldn't resist offering some naming advice, stating: "Apparently 40% of people name their kids after something they love, hence, Palma, which I didn't realise until I saw this stat." Then he teased Olly with suggestions based on personal loves, saying: "So what I'm thinking, if you were to name your child after something you love, then maybe it could be called Peanut Butter? Or, what about Peanut!". Initially hesitant about the peanut-themed names, Olly revealed a fun tidbit that he and Amelia have affectionately dubbed her blossoming belly Crumpet, owing to her frequent yearning for the buttery snack during her pregnancy.

Olly Murs speaks out after abrupt ending to Glasgow show

Pop singer Olly Murs has apologised to fans after he was forced to walk offstage mid-performance. Guests at the singer's show in Glasgow were gutted after he cancelled the concert, held at the 14,000-capacity OVO Hydro, on Thursday evening (22 May) approximately 20 minutes into the set. Posting to Instagram Stories shortly after the show ended, Murs said he was 'so sorry' that he'd had to walk off. 'I've never done this in 15 years,' he said. Murs, 40, said that he had walked on at the beginning of the concert believing his voice was 'great', despite feeling a little rundown. 'I didn't think I couldn't do the show, because I wouldn't have come out there otherwise,' he continued. 'So to walk off after six songs, as I said I'm so sorry… as you can probably hear in my voice, it sounded rubbish, and it's unfair for you guys that have spent all that money to come and see me, you deserve the best show, and me being at my best.' In a second update, Murs said he was seeing a doctor on Thursday evening (22 May) and would let fans know the latest regarding his scheduled shows over the weekend. He is due to perform tonight (Friday 23 May) at the AO Arena in Manchester, with shows to follow at the bp pulse Live in Birmingham on Saturday (24 May), and London's O2 Arena on Sunday (25 May). Murs has suffered similar issues in the past, including in February when he was forced to cancel a performance in Dubai hours before going onstage, due to a throat infection. Last year, flight delays caused him to cancel a gig supporting pop band Take That, with a local pub singer chosen to replace him. Murs rose to national fame after competing on the sixth series ofThe X Factorin 2009, where he finished as a runner-up before signing a record deal with RCA and Sony Music. After a string of top 10 albums and hit singles, Murs signed a new deal with EMI Records and released his seventh album, Marry Me, in 2022, which charted at No 1 in the UK. Earlier this month, he hit out at a debate surrounding his physique after a photograph of his fitness transformation went viral. The 'Heart Skips a Beat' singer revealed that he had taken part in a 12-week diet and exercise regimen that saw him lose weight and gain more muscle. 'I wouldn't normally comment on stuff like this but from what I've seen I just want to say that this journey at the start of the year was for many personal reasons and not one of them was to spark a debate and divide opinions,' he wrote in a post on Instagram. He shared a picture of a Daily Mail newspaper with the headline: 'Bad luck Olly! Women prefer your 'huggable dad bod' to the muscles you got in the gym.' 'So, it's very disappointing to see this kind of reporting! Big love to everyone who's been kind and to anyone out there improving themselves and making adjustments to their wellbeing. Love to you all, keep it up! Ignore the noise!'

Olly Murs sends apology to fans after walking off stage 20 minutes into Glasgow gig

Singer Olly Murs had a night to forget in Glasgow as he was forced to bow out after little more than 20 minutes on stage. Murs left the 14,000-capacity OVO Hydro in Glasgow just six songs into his setlist. Having sought medical assistance, Murs is now recovering and has sent a message to fans updating them on his well-being and plans for future tour dates. 'Glasgow, I'm so sorry that I had to walk off after six songs and cancel the show,' he said on Instagram Stories. 'Most of the time, as singers, you can get through it if your voice is not 100%. 'But I walked out tonight thinking my voice is great, I maybe felt a little bit run down, but I didn't think I couldn't do the show or I wouldn't have come out otherwise. Olly Murs. Olly Murs: Save Me 'is a new Murs era'

Olly Murs is entering a new "era" in his pop career. The 41-year-old star is debuting his new single, 'Save Me', during his ongoing tour of the UK, and Olly has suggested that the song is reflective on a new chapter in his career. The chart-topping singer - who first found fame on 'The X Factor' back in 2009 - told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "I sing my new single on the tour. It's called 'Save Me'. "It's a bold statement but the industry has changed so much with streaming, so with this song I wanted to go back to basics. I wanted my fans to hear the song before anyone else." Despite this, Olly - who married Amelia Tank in 2023 - actually feels anxious about performing the new song for his fans. The pop star explained: "It's been nerve-racking because no one has heard but I'm so confident with the song - I wanted to do it. "It's about going on a night out after having a row with the missus and it goes horribly wrong." Olly feels excited about the "new Murs era". The 'Heart Skips a Beat' hitmaker said: "The song is a new Murs era. But I'm secretly excited about it." Olly is also determined to deliver value for money for his fans. The singer has developed a loyal fanbase over the years and he's promising to give them "fun, music and a laugh" during the tour. Olly - who is performing at some of the UK's best known venues during the tour, including The O2 in London - shared: "I'm an entertainer and I want you to have a good time. "I'd like to think my fans know that when they buy a ticket to come see me, they know what they're getting - fun, music and a laugh. "There is a trust I will deliver and I think with some artists, you're not sure if they are going to turn up and deliver. "I think what I've done over the last 15 years is show people that I can entertain. "I love doing what I do, and you guys are here with me to enjoy it."

Pop star Olly Murs: I'm so boring on tour

Olly Murs has become "so boring" when he's on tour. The pop star has embraced a health-conscious lifestyle in recent years, and Olly maintains his discipline even when he's on the road. The singer - who turned 41 on May 14 - told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "I didn't even have a bite of my birthday cake. "I'm so boring on tour - no desserts or alcohol because it affects the way I perform and train. And I want to deliver the best performances. "When I first started out I tried to go out in every city, then I realised that just doesn't work." Olly will be apart from his wife Amelia and Madison, their baby, while he's on tour. But the 'Heart Skips a Beat' hitmaker feels "very lucky" to have such a supportive partner. He said: "She would come, of course, but on tour I wouldn't be able to spend time with her. "She's at home, heavily pregnant and has a 13-month old so it's been hard on her. "I know I have the most incredible wife, I feel very lucky." In April, Olly revealed that he was in the "best shape of [his] life". The chart-topping star admitted to being like an "excited little puppy" in the early years of his pop career, but Olly is now feeling happier and healthier than ever. Speaking about his tour preparations, Olly - who released his self-titled debut album back in 2010 - told the BBC: "It's a bit mental really, there's a lot of strain so I'm just building the muscles and figuring out what I'm going to say, what I'm going to do. "I care so much about how it looks, how the fans will perceive it and what the set's going to be like and I just want it to be great for everyone." Olly feels he's actually become much calmer and more relaxed in recent years. He explained: "Over the years you become more experienced, calmer, and you realise you need to relax. "I do feel like I'm in the best shape of my life at the moment. I really hope when fans see me on this tour they'll be surprised and be like 'wow, Olly is really looking good.'"
