Olly Murs: Save Me 'is a new Murs era'

Perth Now19-05-2025
Olly Murs is entering a new "era" in his pop career.
The 41-year-old star is debuting his new single, 'Save Me', during his ongoing tour of the UK, and Olly has suggested that the song is reflective on a new chapter in his career.
The chart-topping singer - who first found fame on 'The X Factor' back in 2009 - told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "I sing my new single on the tour. It's called 'Save Me'.
"It's a bold statement but the industry has changed so much with streaming, so with this song I wanted to go back to basics. I wanted my fans to hear the song before anyone else."
Despite this, Olly - who married Amelia Tank in 2023 - actually feels anxious about performing the new song for his fans.
The pop star explained: "It's been nerve-racking because no one has heard but I'm so confident with the song - I wanted to do it.
"It's about going on a night out after having a row with the missus and it goes horribly wrong."
Olly feels excited about the "new Murs era".
The 'Heart Skips a Beat' hitmaker said: "The song is a new Murs era. But I'm secretly excited about it."
Olly is also determined to deliver value for money for his fans.
The singer has developed a loyal fanbase over the years and he's promising to give them "fun, music and a laugh" during the tour.
Olly - who is performing at some of the UK's best known venues during the tour, including The O2 in London - shared: "I'm an entertainer and I want you to have a good time.
"I'd like to think my fans know that when they buy a ticket to come see me, they know what they're getting - fun, music and a laugh.
"There is a trust I will deliver and I think with some artists, you're not sure if they are going to turn up and deliver.
"I think what I've done over the last 15 years is show people that I can entertain.
"I love doing what I do, and you guys are here with me to enjoy it."

Dua Lipa trademarks name for fitness and lifestyle products

Dua Lipa is trademarking her name for a series of fitness and lifestyle products. The 29-year-old singer ¬submitted documents earlier this year seeking permission to use her name for workout supplements including protein powders and vitamins, according to The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column. She is believed to be waiting on the results of her trademark request. Meanwhile, Dua previously revealed she keeps to a strict diet and workout regime on tour. Speaking to Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett on their podcast Dish From Waitrose, she said: 'I guess like, once I'm in the swing of things and I have like a routine and my body is really strong and healthy - it's just getting into stamina mode. 'Then afterwards I'm fine because my body's already at a certain kind of level. But yeah, there's like no drinking. Can't have hot sauce. 'It's like rehearsals, no drinking, working out, just back-to-back preparing for all the shows that's come. Also, I haven't like done a proper tour show for a year so I gotta get my stamina back up before I go into festivals. 'So, it's just running, dancing, singing, all at the same time, to make sure I can hack it once the adrenaline hits as well. 'I gotta make sure that while we're doing new dance moves that a certain move isn't gonna make my voice shake.' Due has also shared how she likes to change up her fitness routine. She told Marie Claire: 'When I have a tiny bit more time on my side I love mixing up lots of different training, finding different workouts in whatever city I'm in, whether it's yoga, Pilates, boxing or spinning.'

Craig David wants to headline Glastonbury

Craig David wants to headline Glastonbury. The 44-year-old singer last performed on the famous Pyramid Stage at the Worthy Farm festival in 2017 and would jump at the chance to play Glastonbury again, when it returns in 2027. He told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: 'I would love to go back. You know what Glastonbury means to any artist. 'When I performed on the Pyramid Stage, it was one of the most iconic moments for me. "I could see that there were so many people from so many different walks of life who'd come to see a myriad of different artists. 'I'd never seen so many people and I thought that is what it is normally like. 'People were like, 'No, Craig, the crowd went over the bank at the back and that is huge.' It was just amazing.' Meanwhile, Craig is preparing for the release of his upcoming ninth album Commitment, 25 years after he dropped his first record Born To Do It. He said: 'Creating Commitment was in a lot of respects very similar to Born To Do It. 'It didn't feel like I was under this pressure to deliver. It felt really relaxed and cathartic. 'I was listening to the music I grew up listening to, like when I made the first album. "It got me into a vibe and then I'd go in the studio until 4am. 'I was just loving it, having so much fun. 'You start to get back to why I originally made music. It's crazy when it's the ninth album in. 'To have a career spanning 25 years, I'm just really grateful, it's a crazy journey we're on.'

Mariana Barutkina: Influencer breaks spine after ‘stiletto challenge' inspired by Nicki Minaj goes wrong

An influencer has broken her spine after attempting the viral 'stiletto challenge' inspired by Nicki Minaj. Mariana Barutkina, 32, attempted the challenge on a kitchen counter top, balancing on top of a jar of baby food stacked on a saucepan while wearing stilettos. In the video, the rapper is crouching in stilettos next to a swimming pool with one leg crossed over the top of the other, miraculously balancing. Ms Barutkina, from Yekaterinburg in Russia, had given birth just eight weeks before she attempted the challenge. Video footage of the accident went viral, showing her try the stunt before falling backwards off a kitchen counter-top and toppling to the ground. The accident caused a compression flexion fracture in her spine, The Sun reported. 'I decided to start a blog, my first content shoot — and here I am leaving the doctor's with a diagnosis,' Ms Barutkina wrote on Instagram. 'Irony? Karma? Or just life, which always tests our strength at the most unexpected moment.' The accident sparked outrage on social media, with many taking aim at her intelligence. 'I'm sorry, of course, but what do people have in their heads who repeat this trash? Which is immediately visible that it is dangerous to health! I wish you a speedy recovery!' one Instagram user commented. 'Well, you're all like teenagers climbing street signs, kindergarten,' another wrote. 'And she looked like an adult,' another user wrote. Other fans wished her a quick and easy recovery. 'Wishing you a speedy recovery,' one user wrote. Ms Barutkina took aim at social media users who questioned her fitness as a mother in a recent post addressing the attention her video gathered. 'Whoever worries about my child should also be calm, he has two nannies and while I was filming one of them was with him,' she wrote. Some fans are calling for the trend to end, saying no one can beat Ms Barutkina.
