The material is also a good option for couples, since motion isolation makes it easier to ignore your partner's movements throughout the night. Here are some of our favorite models that are on sale right now. The crowd-pleasing Nectar Premier will satisfy a variety of sleepers, and we speak from experience after extensively testing this bed (see our Nectar Premier review). The memory foam contours around your shoulders and hips for deep pressure relief. It's also a bit more responsive than some classic memory foam models: "The foam takes a few moments to bounce back to normal, so it does make you work a little harder to switch, but it's not enough to disturb you at night,' says one tester. The bed sleeps a bit warm, so our editors recommend upgrading to the hybrid model if you're an especially hot sleeper. More Deal Information: This mattress has been updated and seen a price increase since 2024. Although the original model was priced at $1,499, the overall discount appears larger due to the price increase. Our editors' pick for the best firm cooling mattress, the Tempur-LuxeBreeze is an excellent option for hot sleepers seeking a more supportive bed. When we tried it ourselves, it offered impressive motion isolation and temperature regulation. Plus, it comes in three firmness levels, including a medium hybrid design. The brand also offers free delivery and a 10-year warranty. More Deal Information: Although the percentage off is a bit lackluster, this $500 discount matches the one we saw over the holiday weekend in 2024. A great option for back and stomach sleepers, this memory foam design is firm enough to keep your spine in alignment but soft enough to relieve pressure on the knees and hips. Testers described the model as dense, firm and lifted, and also rated it highly for motion isolation. More Deal Information: Both the sale price and original price of this mattress have decreased since last July. Over the 2024 holiday weekend, the Siena was on sale for $399 from $799. If you're furnishing a spare room, we love the Leesa Studio mattress. Named our best overall mattress for guest rooms, it's extremely affordable but doesn't skimp on features, offering three cozy layers including a breathable cover to help prevent overheating. Our tester found the bed to be slightly softer than Leesa claims, but added that this discrepancy 'makes it suitable for just about any sleeping position.' More Deal Information: This price matches what we saw last July 4, so it's likely the lowest you'll find this holiday. If you prefer an ultra-plush design, the Amerisleep AS5 is our top pick for the best soft memory foam mattress. It features pressure-relieving memory foam that's ideal for side sleepers, combo sleepers and heavier individuals. Thanks to its durable material, it won't sag or sink over time. Our testers noted that it feels cool-to-the-touch and gently contours to the shape of your body, offering a relaxing and comfortable feel. More Deal Information: Amerisleep often offers $600 discounts during holiday weekends—this price matches what we saw during Memorial Day. This mattress features Tuft & Needle's Flex, Adaptive and Release foam materials, which contour your body while you sleep and relieve pressure throughout the night. It's our top budget pick in our best memory foam mattresses story, offering a light bounce that supports you without letting you sink. More Deal Information: Tuft & Needle typically offers 20% discounts during holiday weekends, but select mattresses can have a slightly higher markdown. If you're looking for a bit more support or breathability, a hybrid bed is a good option. They're typically recommended for hot sleepers and those who suffer from back or joint pain. Here are some discounts on the hybrid mattresses our sleep editors recommend. Our pick for the best mattress of 2025 overall, the Helix Midnight Luxe has a pillow-top design that accommodates a variety of sleepers. The bed has a 'just right' feel that's soft and cradling without the sinking sensation you sometimes get from memory foam. One tester called it 'the perfect mix of support and comfort.' More Deal Information: Helix offered a 30% discount in 2024, but it has yet to surpass 27% off in 2025, even over mattress-centric Memorial Day weekend sales. The original price of the mattress has also increased slightly in price from $2,374. Named the best mattress for pressure relief by our sleep editors, the DreamCloud Premier Luxe is a balanced bed that supports just about every sleeping style. We ranked the bed a 9 out of 10 for pressure relief during testing, thanks to its plush pillow top that had one tester describing it as 'sleeping on a cloud that has structure to it.' The most recent design has also been updated with more cooling and pressure-relieving properties. More Deal Information: This mattress dropped by an additional $200 last July 4, so you may want to hold off for a better offer closer to the official holiday. The original price of the mattress has also dropped slightly from $2,499. Our sleep and mattress editors recommend the Bear Elite Hybrid for sleepers who "want a plush hotel-luxury mattress that offers good edge support and motion isolation." The bed excelled during our testing in the categories that mattered most to couples, including ample edge support and motion isolation, giving it the award for the best hybrid mattress for couples. However it may not be quite supportive enough for sleepers who weight over 250 pounds or those who primarily sleep on their back or stomach. More Deal Information: The price of this mattress increased from $2,305 in 2024. While we saw a low of $1,499 during last year's sale, it may not reach that drop again due to the overall price increase. Heavier individuals who favor side sleeping should consider the Nolah Evolution Comfort Plus. Designed to accommodate up to 1,000 pounds total, this hybrid bed is among the best mattresses for heavy people. It has a solid 14-inch loft, plenty of support and cooling features to keep you comfortable through the night. Plus, its quilted Euro top and multilayered foam build makes the design a little softer than the average bed targeted to larger sleepers. More Deal Information: This mattress saw a 35% discount over the holiday last year, so it may be worth waiting to secure that extra savings. If you're a hot sleeper, you'll appreciate the temperature-regulating quilted top and breathable zoned springs found in this cooling mattress. Our team named it the best affordable hybrid mattress since it cushions the shoulders and hips while keeping the spine from sagging—especially for back and stomach sleepers. More Deal Information: This is a standard offer from Leesa during holiday weekends. Keep in mind, though, that the brand recently raised its prices, so this may not match the low deal price we saw in 2024. This hybrid mattress features Purple's signature GelFlex grid and CoolFlex coils that regulate heat and wick away moisture to help you fall into a deeper slumber. It earned the title of best luxury hybrid mattress in our shopping guide, thanks to its impressive pressure relief, cooling properties and motion isolation. More Deal Information: Purple is currently offering a slightly steeper discount—up to $800 off—than what we saw over Memorial Day. The top recommendation in our mattresses for back pain story, this hybrid design uses a classic coil base with a luxe European-style pillow top to deliver a supportive and comfortable feel. It's available in three firmness levels, so you can find your perfect fit. (I have the luxury firm model and find it to be just right.) Saatva also offers a longer warranty period than many other brands as well as white glove delivery and mattress removal. More Deal Information: A $400 offer is often common from Saatva around holidays, and this matches what we saw last July 4. We consider the Leesa mattress the best cooling mattress for back pain. It's designed with hot sleepers in mind with 'dual-coil layers that promote airflow and gel-infused foam for cooling relief.' We think its a great option for stomach, back and combination sleepers, but may not be ideal for dedicated side sleepers. More Deal Information: This mattress' original price has increased by $200, up from $2,799 last year. So, while it may not reach the same low we saw in 2024, it's not uncommon for Leesa to offer 30% off over holiday weekends. The WinkBed is one of the most comfortable mattresses we tested. Its plush and airy pillow top and superior motion isolation make it especially well suited to couples seeking a luxurious night of sleep. The design comes in four firmness levels, including a Plus model that's made for sleepers who weigh over 250 pounds. For those who like soft mattresses and routinely wake up with aches, we consider this model the best plush mattress for back pain. More Deal Information: This is a standard offer from WinkBeds. If you're looking for a good innerspring mattress for under $1,000, we recommend this Brooklyn Bedding design, which we named our favorite affordable hybrid. Mattress and sleep editor McKenzie Dillon says, 'In a sea full of online mattresses, I think of the Brooklyn Bedding Signature as like the Toyota of beds: reliable, reputable and comfortable, without having to be the high-end pick.' More Deal Information: This brand often offers 30% off during holiday events, so this is likely the best price you'll see over the 4th Of July. The Titan Plus Luxe is a firm and sturdy option for heavier individuals, and we named it the best mattress for heavy people in our dedicated roundup. It's a great choice for back, stomach and combination sleepers who need solid support and pressure relief. Our testers gave it high remarks for motion isolation and overall support. More Deal Information: This is a typical offer from Brooklyn Bedding during holiday weekends and matches the discount on Titan's own site. If you're looking for a more sustainable option, the Avocado Green is made with natural materials like GOLS-certified latex foam and GOTS-certified New Zealand wool. It's our pick as the best organic mattress since it can support a variety of sleepers, including those who run hot or experience allergies. More Deal Information: This is a standard offer from Avocado during the 4th of July. Yes, the 4th of July is usually a good time to buy a mattress. Holiday weekends typically bring about solid mattress sales. Last year, we saw offers comparable to those advertised around Presidents' Day and Memorial Day, which are often known for their mattress sales. Which Holiday Is The Best Time To Buy A Mattress? The 4th of July comes with plenty of worthwhile mattress deals. However, the absolute best time to buy a new bed is typically during Cyber week—the fall shopping holiday is when we often see the lowest prices. That said, if you can't wait until November for a new mattress, holiday weekends are still a great time to shop for deals. What Is A Reasonable Price For A Good Quality Mattress? A reasonable price for a good quality mattress depends on a variety of factors, like your budget and preferred mattress type. On average, you can expect to spend a bit less on foam mattresses compared to their innerspring and hybrid counterparts. For instance, the Nectar Classic, our favorite affordable mattress overall, is a classic memory foam design that's available for under $700. However, if you're looking at an innerspring, hybrid or organic mattress, you could easily spend closer to $2,000, if not more. Our favorite mattress overall, the Helix Midnight Luxe, is a hybrid design that tested well across all categories. It's currently on sale for $1,751 with code FORBES27. How Do I Get The Best Price On A New Mattress? Before investing in a new bed, it's important to decide the type of mattress you need based key factors including your sleep position and comfort preferences. (For more help, see our best mattresses of 2025 buying guide.) Then, follow the steps below, and reference curated deals roundups like this one to ensure you're finding the best deals available. Figure Out What Type Of Mattress You Want The first step to finding the best price on a new mattress is knowing exactly what you're looking for. There are countless options available online and the search can feel overwhelming if you don't have an initial framework. Knowing your preferred material and firmness level can help narrow the scope and make the search less intimidating. If you're not sure what type of bed you want, consider browsing one of our shopping guides that's curated based on your sleep style. Once you decide on the general type of mattress you're looking for, it'll be easier to get an idea of what price range you can expect—for example, pillow-top mattresses tend to be more expensive than pure memory foam designs. Research The Bed's Price History Price history research takes time, but it will give you the best idea of what is (and isn't) a good deal. Mattress brands are almost always hosting sales. By searching recent events—like Memorial Day mattress sales or even 2024 Black Friday mattress sales—you'll be able to see how low a bed has dropped in the past year. This will help you determine whether the current offer is out of the ordinary. Keep in mind that some retailers will change their beds' MSRPs between sales, which can impact the overall discount you see advertised. You'll also note, we have added relevant price history to each of the mattress options above. Take Advantage Of Special Offers If you're choosing between two similar deals, it's time to get granular. Special offers like lifetime warranties, ample trial periods and free white glove delivery can add more value to one bed over another. Some brands also offer extras like a free bedding bundle with your mattress purchase. If you already intend to invest in new bedding, having it bundled into the cost of your mattress can help you save overall.

I'm a deals hunter — 7 beds I'd buy before the 4th July mattress sales

The 4th of July mattress sales are off to a sparkling start. Even though we're a week away from the day itself, there are some excellent deals available to shop now — including $400 off mattresses at Saatva , one of our favorite luxury sleep brands. This is my second 4th of July tracking mattress sales and honestly? I had low expectations. After seeing great deals on nearly all the best mattresses you can buy online over Memorial Day, I thought this year's 4th July sales would be tamer. But I was wrong and this mattress sale is shaping up to be a big one. I've been closely monitoring the latest deals and I think the biggest 4th of July mattress sales have already dropped. Browse my top savings now and you'll be able to focus on more important things on the big day itself. 1. Saatva Classic: twin was $1,399 now $999 at SaatvaThe best Saatva mattress sale is back for the 4th of July with $400 off all orders over $1,000 when you follow our links. That means you can get a queen Saatva Classic for $1,699 (was $2,099), one of the cheapest prices we've seen this year (the cheapest was $1,695). Our team has been consistently impressed with Saatva mattresses and the flagship Classic has earned full marks. We spent over seven months testing it for our Saatva Classic Mattress review, awarding this luxury hybrid innerspring mattress five stars for support, temperature regulation and motion isolation. And with three firmness levels and two heights available, it's a good pick for almost any sleep style. Plus, Saatva offers the best benefits on the market, with a full year's trial, lifetime warranty and free white glove delivery. 2. Helix Midnight Luxe Mattress: twin was $1,436 now $1,048.24 at HelixUse code TOMS27 to save 27% sitewide in the 4th of July Helix mattress sale. Our top pick is the Helix Midnight Luxe which we consider it a top mattress for side sleepers. Our Helix Midnight Luxe mattress review found it nailed the balance of cushioning and support, with plush comfort at the hips and shoulders. If you aren't a side sleeper, skip the Midnight Luxe and consider the responsive support of the Dusk Luxe instead (we described it as "dreamy" for back and stomach sleepers in our Helix Dusk Luxe mattress review.) Both are 27% off with code TOMS27 with a queen priced $1,751.03 (was $2,398.66.) All Helix mattresses come with a 100-night trial and a limited lifetime warranty. 3. EGOHOME 12" Memory Foam Mattress: queen was $429.99 now $298.98 at AmazonThe EGOHOME is a budget-friendly mattress with a "classic body-cradling feel" that suits most sleep styles. The lead tester in our EGOHOME 12" Memory Foam Mattress review is a lightweight side sleeper who often struggles to find mattresses with enough pressure relief for her needs — the EGOHOME got it spot on. In the current sale a queen is only $298.98, which puts this among the best cheap mattresses we've tested. However, if you have your eye on another size, you might want to wait and see if Amazon Prime Day in a few weeks delivers a better discount. 4. Purple Mattress: twin was $999 now $699 at PurplePurple mattresses use the a malleable GelFlex Grid to create adaptive and unique pressure relief — in our Purple Original Mattress review we described it as delivering a "floating" sensation as you sleep. In the current Purple mattress sale you can save up to $400 on the Purple Original, reducing a queen to just $999. Purple sales can be unpredictable so we recommend you take advantage of this discount while it's still live. All Purple mattresses come with a 100-night trial and 10-year warranty. 5. Avocado Green Mattress: twin was $1,499 now $1,272 at AvocadoAvocado mattress sales have always been an enticing event but since a recent (possibly mattress tariff related) price hike we're even more excited to spot a saving. There's currently 15% off the Avocado Green, one of the best organic mattresses we've tested and proof that eco-friendly can still mean comfortable. In our Avocado Green Mattress review we praised the full-body support and the breathable feel — it earned five stars for temperature regulation. A queen is now only $1,784 (was $2,099) and comes with a 25-year warranty and 365-night trial. For tighter budgets, the Avocado Eco Organic Mattress is less luxurious but at $1,189 for a queen (was $1,399) it's excellent value for an organic bed. 6. Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid Mattress: twin was $932 now $652.40 at Brooklyn BeddingThe lead tester in our Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress review credits this bed with getting her through a recent heatwave, thanks to its breathable design and GlacioTex cooling cover. We think the hybrid version rates among the best hybrid mattresses to buy in 2025 but the all-foam alternative is cheaper and likely delivers more of a body-hugging feel. There's 30% off sitewide at Brooklyn Bedding with code JULY30, reducing a queen CopperFlex Pro Hybrid to $932.40 (was $1,332.) All Brooklyn Bedding mattresses come with a 120-night trial and limited lifetime warranty. 7. Casper Cloud One Mattress: queen was $1,249 now $999.20 at CasperThere are plenty of deals to catch your eye in the Casper mattress sale but we're most interested by 20% off the Casper Cloud One, on sale for the first time ever. Using foam 'pillars' to create a responsive, plush feel, a queen is now only $999.20. For a more traditional all-foam design, the Casper One is among the best memory foam mattresses you can buy online, with a firm support that impressed the back sleepers in our Casper One mattress review team. The motion isolation is also impressive (we gave it full marks) and at just $599 for a twin XL in the sale (was $749), it's a great mattress for college students who want comfort on a budget.

I've tried the Midnight Luxe mattress and it's a dream for side sleepers — but there's a different luxury hybrid I'd buy in the Helix sale

The 4th of July fireworks have started early at Helix, where we're celebrating 27% off all Helix mattresses with code TOMS27. Side sleepers, now's the chance to save on the top-rated Midnight Luxe mattress. I've been hands-on with the Helix Midnight Luxe and agree with our lead tester's assessment: the plush cushioning is just like a "beautifully cool marshmallow." We rate it among the best mattresses we've tested and while the premium price tag makes it an investment, it's one we think your sleep will thank you for. 27% off at Helix is perhaps the biggest mattress sales we've seen this month and an early contender for the best 4th of July deal — here's my top pick to browse today. Helix Midnight Luxe Mattress: twin was $1,436 now $1,048.28 at Helix The Helix Midnight Luxe is almost the perfect side sleeper bed — no wonder we crowned it the best mattress for side sleepers. Our lead tester has spent months using it for our Helix Midnight Luxe mattress review (including several weeks on the recently revamped model) and she loves its combination of plush pressure relief and full-body support. As does her husband, a back sleeper who finds the Midnight delivers ample lumbar support. And thanks to the highly-rated motion isolation, they can toss and turn without bothering the other. If you're worried about the summer heat we suggest adding the GlacioTex cover and with 27% off using code TOMS27, it's the perfect time to make the upgrade. A queen has been reduced to $1,751.03 (from $2,398.66) without the cover and $1,933.04 with it. Our review: ★★★★½ User score: ★★★★½ (7,500+ reviews) You can save 27% sitewide in the Helix mattress sale with our TOMS27 code in a deal that's almost as good as the Memorial Day saving. (For Memorial Day, Luxe and Elite mattresses also came with a free gift.) This is likely the best Helix deal we'll see this side of Labor Day — and possibly the best offer until Black Friday. So if you want the 'blissful pressure relief' and 'robust contouring support' of the Helix Midnight Luxe, we recommend taking advantage of the discount. But while I liked the cushioned Midnight Luxe, it's another of the best hybrid mattresses I'll be adding to my own cart: the Dusk Luxe. From the same collection as the Midnight Luxe, the Dusk Luxe features the same tall build (13.5 inches, to be precise), thick foams, and zoned springs of its compatriot. However, the Dusk Luxe uses a responsive support foam to create a mattress that's cushioned without the sink-in feel of softer beds. As a stomach sleeper, this is perfect for me. I spent a week on the Dusk Luxe and despite a lingering case of jet lag I slept like a baby and woke up fresh each morning. And it's not just one of the best mattresses for stomach sleepers; back sleepers should find it comfortably supportive as well. Helix Dusk Luxe Mattress: twin was $1,436 now $1,048.28 at HelixIn our Helix Dusk Luxe mattress review we described this luxury bed as a "dream for stomach sleepers." The quilted cover and dense foams create indulgent pressure relief but thanks to the impressive support, you never have to worry about your hips sinking — something that can cause pain for back and front sleepers. Using code TOMS27 can save you extra on the Dusk Luxe with a queen now only $1,751.03 (down from $2,398.66.) I've found the temperature regulation comfortable but very hot sleepers should consider the GlacioTex upgrade. Our review: ★★★★½ User score: ★★★★½ (1,400+ reviews)

Saatva RX vs Helix Midnight Luxe: Which luxury mattress for back pain should you buy?

Two of my favorite mattresses that I've tested are the Saatva RX and Helix Midnight Luxe. Both deliver targeted lumbar support along with superb pressure relief and a luxurious finish, but which one should you buy if you have back pain? The Saatva RX is a mattress made for people with joint and back conditions such as scoliosis, arthritis, and sciatica. We named it our best mattress for back pain overall for its exceptional pressure relief and supportive build. I noticed a reduction in my lower back pain after sleeping on it. The Helix Midnight Luxe makes our best mattresses of 2025 guide as our top choice for side sleepers who want a balanced bed with a plush pillow top they can comfortably fall into. I slept on the version with an ErgoAlign upgrade, and I woke up refreshed and pain-free each morning. Below, I'll be comparing the Saatva RX and Helix Midnight Luxe in areas of price, design, comfort and support, and temperature regulation — all based on the testing conducted by me and my fellow reviewers. The Saatva RX is among the brand's most expensive beds, with a queen-size retailing for $3,399. You'll rarely have to pay this price as Saatva mattress sales happen year-round. However, I recommend waiting for one of Saatva's percentage-off sales to purchase a Saatva RX at the best possible price. Discounts typically range from 12% to 15%, saving you about $500 on a queen-size. In contrast, Saatva's general dollar-off discounts reduce prices by $300 to $400. Meanwhile, the Helix Midnight Luxe is a comparatively more affordable option, but it's still a premium-priced mattress, even with regular Helix mattress sales. A queen-size Helix Midnight Luxe retails for $2,373, but it typically sells for 20% to 27% less, dropping the price as low as $1,733. You can add cooling and support upgrades, including an ErgoAlign layer for extra lumbar relief, but these can increase the final price by hundreds of dollars. Unlike the Helix Midnight Luxe — a mattress-in-a-box delivered for free to your doorstep — the Saatva RX arrives flat via free White Glove Delivery, which includes the removal of your old bed and foundation. Helix offers an à la carte White Glove service in select ZIP codes from $119. Both Saatva and Helix offer a lifetime warranty, but Saatva offers a much longer trial period of one full year. (Helix provides a 100-night trial.) Saatva RX: was from $1,999 now from $1,799 at SaatvaThis luxury mattress for sleepers with chronic and serious back and joint pain is Saatva's most expensive mattress behind the Solaire, Saatva HD and larger sizes of the Zenhaven. All sizes are $200 to $400 off, bringing the price of a queen down to $3,049 after $350 off (was $3,399). It comes with a 365-night trial, a lifetime warranty, and free White Glove Delivery straight to your bedroom, including old mattress removal. Helix Midnight Luxe: was from $1,373.80 now from $1,048 with code TOMS27+ freebies at Helix SleepThe Luxe Collection represents the mid-point of Helix's lineup. Use our exclusive code TOMS27 for 27% off, bagging you more money off than the brand's ongoing 25% off sale. With our coupon, a queen-size Midnight Luxe falls to $1,733 (was $2,373). It also comes with free sheets and a mattress protector, along with a 100-night trial, a lifetime warranty, and free shipping. At 15", the Saatva RX is one of the tallest mattresses on the market. Atop a bed of triple-tempered recycled steel coils sits a layer of waved foam with five zones to target pressure points along the hips, shoulders, and lower back. Firmer caliper spring coils line the bed lengthwise for stronger edges at the sides. The comfort layers consist of 1" micro-coils sandwiched between two pieces of 3/4" high-density foam, topped by a half-inch strip of gel-infused foam across the middle for lumbar support. The organic cotton cover features special quilting in the center to complement the lumbar crown. The 13.5" Helix Midnight Luxe features a quilted pillow top, a dense layer of responsive foam, a layer of copper gel-infused memory foam and a transitional foam layer. Below this is to up to 1,000 individually-wrapped springs, which are reinforced across the middle and along the perimeter for extra lumbar and edge support, respectively. You can level up the standard Tencel cover to a specialist GlacioTex cooling material to boost temperature regulation. For maximum relief from night sweats, you can also add a series of graphite-infused ribbons on top of the gel-infused foam comfort layer to help draw heat away from the surface. Opting for the ErgoAlign upgrade adds a three-zoned foam layer directly above the coils. It's denser in the middle to support the lower back. The Saatva RX is rated 'Supportive Plush,' which Saatva describes as between 3-4 out of its 10-point firmness scale. However, my fellow testers and I considered it medium-firm to firm, between a 7.5 and an 8, in our Saatva RX Mattress review. Despite that perceived firmness, the Saatva RX delivered on pressure relief. In our objective tests using a 50lb weight, we measured a 3.5" sink in the middle and a 2.5" sink toward the foot of the bed. We enjoyed the Saatva RX most for back sleeping — one of our testers likened it to relaxing on a pool float. The combination of foams, springs, and microcoils evenly distributed our weight and contoured our bodies for full-body relief without sacrificing support. The stomach sleepers in our group gave it their seal of approval, as well, as their hips didn't dip. As for side sleeping, the reactions were mixed. While I managed just as well on the Saatva as an average-sized sleeper with lower back pain, one of our smaller side sleepers with chronic pain from RSD and herniated discs couldn't get comfortable due to pressure buildup in her hips. Helix rates the Midnight Luxe a 6 out of 10 on its firmness scale. In our Helix Midnight Luxe Mattress review, our testing panel agreed with that assessment, although I personally felt it was closer to a 7/10 with the addition of the ErgoAlign layer. Our lead tester for the Midnight Luxe (sans upgrades) benefited greatly from the plush premium pillow top, ultra-responsive foam comfort layers and reinforced midsection. She didn't experience the 'dead hip' she's prone to developing when resting on her side for too long. With the ErgoAlign layer, I was surprised to find myself involuntarily flipping onto my back, which is likely a good thing, given my history of back pain. The increased support in the middle helped with alignment, and the pillow top fit the nook of my lower spine nicely. As versatile as the Helix Midnight Luxe is, we wouldn't call it a sound mattress for stomach sleepers, as it's not quite firm enough for that. (I was able to rest on my front with the ErgoAlign upgrade, but not long-term.) The waved foam layer inside the Saatva RX is infused with graphite and phase change materials (PCM) to help keep the mattress at a reasonably cool temperature. That's in addition to the breathable organic cotton cover and layers of coils and microcoils through which air can travel freely. I slept on the Saatva RX through a transitional season. No matter the temperature, I was perfectly cozy — not once did I wake up sweaty. For most people, the Saatva RX will maintain a comfortable microclimate for sleep. Our lead tester awarded the Helix Midnight Luxe's temperature regulation a passing grade, with the caveat that she's not particularly a hot sleeper. However, the mattress now boasts 4lbs of titanium and graphite-infused memory foam for greater cooling prowess than the model we tested. The Tencel cover will be breathable enough for most people, but if you deal with chronic overheating, consider turning it into a proper cooling mattress by adding a GlacioTex cover with a soothing sensation and graphite ribbons beneath the cover to draw heat from the surface. ✅ You want a luxurious orthopedic mattress: Saatva has created a supportive, comfortable mattress for sleepers with serious chronic back and joint conditions that's more fitting for a hotel suite than a hospital room. ✅ You don't want a mattress-in-a-box: Saatva doesn't roll-pack its mattresses like Helix does, so they're delivered flat. That means your mattress will be ready to sleep on almost immediately — and you shouldn't have to worry about off-gassing, either. ✅ You want the best perks in the industry: White Glove Delivery is free, and it includes haul-away of your previous mattress and foundation, too. You also get a full year to test it at home, allowing you to try it across all seasons and circumstances. ✅ You're a dedicated side sleeper: The Helix Midnight Luxe is the best mattress for side sleepers we've ever slept on. The plush pillow top, contouring foams, and reinforced middle deliver the ideal combination of lower back support and joint relief for the hips and shoulders. ✅ You want to make your mattress your own: While the Helix Midnight Luxe only comes in one firmness level, you can modify it to suit your preferences by boosting the lumbar support and/or cooling features. ✅ You have a (relatively) smaller budget: Of course, this is very much a splurge, but even with upgrades, you'll still wind up spending less for the Helix Midnight Luxe than you would for the Saatva RX.
