Khargone admn transfers 60ha to MPIDC for Nimrani Phase 2
Indore: Khargone district administration has transferred around 60 hectare land to Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) for establishing a new industrial area in Nimrani. The proposed industrial sector is set to be developed adjacent to AB Road on the vacant parcel of land, targeting investments from textile manufacturers, component producers and food processing enterprises. MPIDC Indore executive director Himanshu Prajapati said, "We got allotted 60 hectare land in Khargone district from Khargone administration. This parcel of undeveloped land will be used to extend the existing industrial belt. The proximity of this parcel to the road and resources makes it a suitable place for industries. We are looking to attract investments from across sectors in this area." The upcoming industrial belt will be Nimrani Phase 2, where the industries department is planning to attract investments from anchor units and local industries. The existing Nimrani Phase 1 attracted a lot of investment and is almost full. The second phase of development will create additional space for industries to set up new facilities or expand operations," said Prajapati. MPIDC also started working on developing a new industrial area at Lalbaug Basvi in Dhar on more than 200 hectare and with an estimated investment of Rs 200 crore.

More than 1700-bed women's hostel to come up in Pithampur
Indore: Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) floated a tender for the construction of the first dedicated working women's hostel in the industrial town of Pithampur, which is home to over 1,500 industries. This move aims to enhance the living conditions for working women in the region. The project, covering approximately 1.80 hectare, will provide more than 1,700 beds across multiple accommodation types. The hostel is designed to comprise eight blocks, with each block housing 222 beds. Its architecture includes dormitory facilities, as well as twin and triple occupancy rooms, ensuring a range of options to cater to the diverse needs of working women. According to Himanshu Prajapati, the executive director of MPIDC, Indore "The hostel will have 1,776 beds for which we floated the tender. This facility is a pivotal step in supporting women in the workforce, providing them with safe and comfortable accommodation close to their workplaces." The tender for the construction has already been released, with the project estimated to cost around Rs 76.46 crore, including GST. The hostel will feature 32 twin-sharing units in each block along with dormitories accommodating 28 beds and several six-bedded dormitories, promoting a sense of community among residents. Local industry leaders reacted positively to this initiative. Ravi Sharma, a senior Human Resource executive at a prominent manufacturing company in Pithampur, said, "This hostel will not only support our female employees but also enhance workforce productivity. It's a fantastic move that reflects the growing recognition of women's contributions in the workforce." Another industry representative, Meera Singh, who runs a consultancy firm in Indore, emphasised the importance of such facilities in encouraging more women to pursue careers. "By providing a safe and supportive living environment, we can inspire more women to join various industries and fill the existing talent gaps in our workforce."

Land pooling for Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor starts
Indore: Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) has announced the commencement of land pooling for the proposed 19.60 km Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor, which will have commercial and industrial activities on its both sides. The infrastructure project aims to enhance connectivity between Pithampur, airport, and other key urban areas, thereby promoting commercial and industrial activities in the state. MPIDC, Indore executive director Himanshu Prajapati said, "The layout for the proposed 19.60 km Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor has been finalised, and with this, the process of land pooling has started. Consents for more than 250 acre reached us, and we are actively collecting documents from the landowners. " The corridor, stretching 20 km in length and 75 metre in width, will encompass both govt and private lands, with an expected extension of 300 metre on either side. The project carries an estimated cost exceeding Rs 2,400 crore. MPIDC has published the plot numbers of lands from 17 villages, including Kordiabardi, Nainod, Rinjalay, Bisnavada, Navadapanth, Shriram Talavali, Sindoda, Sindodi, Shivkheda, Narlay, Mokalay, Dehri, Sonvay, Bhainslay, Bagoda, Tihi, and Dhannad. Under the Land Pooling Act, there is currently a provision to return 50 per cent of the land to its owners. However, for the Economic Corridor, chief minister Mohan Yadav in March announced the allocation of 60 per cent of the total developed land to the farmers. "As the land acquisition process gains momentum, anticipation builds around the potential economic benefits that the Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor will unlock, paving the way for enhanced industrial growth and job creation in the region. The coming months will be crucial as MPIDC continues its efforts to realise this ambitious infrastructure project," said Prajapati.

Sector 7 in Pithampur gets Rs 7k crore investment proposals from 19 industries
Indore: Indore's newest industrial expansion, Sector 7 in Pithampur, has attracted investment proposals amounting to over Rs 7000 crore from 19 industries since the start of the land allocation. These industrial ventures are expected to generate employment opportunities for over 9248 individuals. MPIDC, Indore executive director Himanshu Prajapati said, "We have allotted land to 19 industries so far in Sector 7, and these industries proposed an investment of Rs 7253 crore. Several prominent manufacturing units, including automotive components, pharmaceuticals, and electronics sectors, have shown keen interest in establishing their facilities. The proposed industries are expected to create a multiplier effect on the local economy, boosting ancillary businesses and service sectors. " Action Construction Equipment (ACE), Pinnacle Industries, Shakti Pumps, JSW Paints, Asian Paints, and Ardee Engineering Ltd are a few industries that have taken land in Sector 7. The industries department is pooling land from private landowners for developing the industrial belt. So far, around 501 hectare of land pooled from 287 farmers is registered. The industrial development project spans 2090 hectare, comprising 600 hectare of govt land and the remainder being private land. The development cost is estimated to exceed Rs 2000 crore, indicating substantial infrastructure improvements in the region. "The process of land pooling is underway. In the process, we have allotted 84 plots to farmers," said Prajapati.

Indore: 2 textile cos acquire land in the region
In a significant boost to the textile industry, Arvind Ltd acquired land in Budhi Barlai village in Indore district, with plans to produce 60 lakh garments annually in the first phase of its operation. The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) allocated 12 hectare land to the Arvind Group, with letters of intent already issued. In a parallel development, another prominent garment manufacturer, Noize Jeans Ltd , also secured 12.5 hectares in Budhi Barlai for its own textile and apparel manufacturing unit. Together, these two companies are set to invest a staggering Rs 584 crore, creating approximately 12,000 new jobs in the region. The Arvind Group plans to establish a garment park in the region, while Noize Jeans Ltd will focus on nine different manufacturing activities, including the production of sweaters, denim, and footwear. Himanshu Prajapati, Executive Director of MPIDC for the Indore region, said, "The development will extend beyond mere production facilities. Plans include the creation of essential infrastructure such as plug-and-play units for auxiliary businesses, residential areas for employees, medical facilities, a police station, a fire station, and a commercial complex, all designed to support the burgeoning workforce." Additionally, the closed Barlai sugar mill, located about 25 kilometres from Indore, along with surrounding vacant land totalling around 33 hectares, has been converted into an industrial area dedicated to the textile sector.
