'Fake judge' - Michael Jordan's former teammate makes shocking claim about $170,000 Child Support fraud

Former Chicago Bulls champion Horace Grant alleges a $170,000 child support fraud, claiming his pension account was unjustly frozen. Speaking on the 'Child Support is Fraud' podcast, Grant revealed that a Qualified Domestic Relations Order was used to deny him access to his funds. He further accused the judge overseeing the case, Erin M. A former teammate of Michael Jordan , Horace Grant, who was a four-time champion too, shared shocking details about $170,000 Child Support Fraud. Because of this alleged fraud, his pension account was frozen, leaving him cash-strapped. Grant talked at length about it on the Child Support is Fraud podcast. Among other details explained was a shocking claim about the judge who oversaw the child support case proceedings. According to Grant, the judge was the same one who decided his divorce proceedings. He went on to claim that the judge was fake. Horace Grant has a corpus of $170,000 in his pension fund. He can't use a penny of it because it is frozen by a child support agency on the pretext of a QDRO (Qualified Domestic Relations Order). He claimed that the law was bypassed to 'steal' his pension money. Horace Grant, ex-teammate of Michael Jordan, calls judge 'fake' in a recent revelation about his Child Support case View this post on Instagram A post shared by ColorsTV (@colorstv) Horace Grant appeared on the Child Support is Fraud podcast and spilled the beans on how a child support agency defrauded him and denied him access to his pension fund. Expressing deep resentment at how the scene unfolded, Grant vehemently opposed the authority of the judge who was responsible for the decision. It's called a quadro, Qualified Domestic Relationship Order. They went after my pension.' Elaborating further, he said, 'Here's the kicker. Here's the kicker. If they don't have a signed affidavit by a judge, in 180 days, the quadro is void. Here's the catch. 180 days pass. No judge sign. They didn't have anything. Next thing you know, two weeks later, there's a judge sign, and we got to keep it frozen.' Unfolding the drama around the case, he further shared, 'Guys, take a guess who was that judge. Her name is Erin M. Childs. Was in my divorce. She was the fake judge in my divorce.' When the interviewer asked him if everything he claimed was real, he said, 'Facts. And I got receipts.' As per this revelation, Horace Grant was not supposed to part with money as the stipulated 180 days had passed, and the Child Support Agency had not obtained the required signature of a judge on the affidavit. So, as per Grant, he was unlawfully denied access to the pension fund. Horace Grant On How Child Support Takes His 17-Year NBA Pension

Horace Grant On How Child Support Takes His 17-Year NBA Pension originally appeared on Fadeaway World. Horace Grant, the four-time NBA champion best known for anchoring the Chicago Bulls' defense alongside Michael Jordan, has opened up about a financial and legal battle that he says nearly destroyed his retirement. In an appearance on the 'Child Support is Fraud' podcast, the 17-year NBA veteran revealed how a legal maneuver involving his pension blindsided him, even years after his playing days ended. Advertisement "This is what the child support agency tried to do to me. It's called a QDRO, Qualified Domestic Relations Order. They went after my pension." "Here's the kicker. Here's the kicker. If they don't have a signed affidavit by a judge in one hundred eighty days, the QDRO is void. Here's the catch. One hundred eighty days passed. No judge sign. They didn't have anything." "Next thing you know, two weeks later, there's a judge sign and we've got to keep it frozen. Guys, take a guess who was that judge. Her name is Erin M. Childs. Was in my divorce. She was the fake judge in my divorce." Grant, who earned nearly $68 million during his NBA career and averaged 11.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, shared that his retirement funds were frozen due to what he describes as an improper legal order known as a QDRO, Qualified Domestic Relations Order. Advertisement These orders are commonly used in divorce proceedings or child support enforcement to divide retirement plans. But according to Grant, the agency overstepped the legal deadline. The judge who signed the order, according to Grant, was Erin M. Childs, a judicial officer who was involved in his earlier divorce. Grant claimed she was a 'fake judge,' though this assertion appears to stem more from the podcast's host, Lionel 'TJ' Tillman, than established legal fact. Tillman, who champions the controversial belief that child support is legally fraudulent, regularly uses the term 'fake judge' to describe family court officers presiding over administrative hearings. Grant didn't specify which of his children or former partners this dispute involved. Advertisement Over the years, his personal life has included two marriages, a child support battle with a woman named Ann Gore, and fathering eight children with three different women. Though many of those children are now adults, Grant implied that the financial strain from past child support obligations continues to echo into his retirement. The former power forward, who played for the Bulls, Magic, Lakers, and SuperSonics, didn't just shine on the court with nearly 13,000 career points and 9,443 rebounds, he also faced off-court challenges that highlight a recurring pattern in pro sports: athletes earning millions, only to later be hampered by complex financial, legal, and personal circumstances. Whether or not the judge's signature violated a legal deadline is something that has yet to be independently confirmed. However, Grant's emotional testimony adds to a growing chorus of athletes who've claimed their fortunes were reduced or drained by child support rulings. NBA names like Dennis Rodman and Latrell Sprewell have made similar complaints in the past. Advertisement Grant's story is a cautionary tale not only about the legal system but also about the importance of managing personal affairs and finances after retirement. For many former stars, the hardest battles begin after the final buzzer sounds. "They went after my pension"- Horace Grant claims a child support agency used a fake judge to steal his money

"They went after my pension"- Horace Grant claims a child support agency used a fake judge to steal his money originally appeared on Basketball Network. Former Chicago Bulls forward Horace Grant had a productive 17-year NBA career, during which he scored 12,996 career points and pulled down 9,443 career rebounds, winning four NBA titles. Off the court, Grant also had a productive personal life, which was marked by two marriages, a baby mama, and eight total children. Having multiple affairs and children from different mothers has put Horace in trouble, at least financially. During an undated appearance on the "Child Support is a Fraud" podcast, Grant detailed how he was defrauded by a child support agency. "This is what the child support agency tried to do to me," explained Grant. "It's called a 'quadro' — qualified domestic relationship order. They went after my pension. Here's the kicker: If they didn't have a signed affidavit by a judge in 180 days, the quadro is void. Here's the catch. A hundred eight days passed, no judge signed. They didn't have anything. Next thing you know, two weeks later, a judge signed, and we got to keep it frozen. Take a guess who that judge was. Her name is Erin M. Childs, was in my divorce. She was the fake judge in my divorce." Albeit his success in the NBA, Grant had a rather messy life off the court. He married Donna Weaver in 1988 and filed for divorce in 1992. A year later, Donna went to court to prevent Horace from stating he was single while their divorce was pending. In 1996, two years after his divorce was finalized, the power forward bore a daughter with a woman named Ann Gore, as the two had a child support battle. In 2003, Horace married Andrea Grant, and they settled down in California, where she is from. Ten years ago, the former Clemson star professed his love for his then-wife of 13 years on Valentine's Day. No news about the couple is available online, but in 2023, Grant was a defendant in case 2:23-cv-05803 filed by one Andrea Maria Grant, which could indicate trouble in paradise once again for the ex-Bulls star. Horace did not mention which of his children the child support issue that involved the freezing of his pension was about. However, since he mentioned the name of the "fake judge," the attorney he named is a judge from San Obispo County in California who was a Family Law Commissioner for the Superior Court of San Luis Obispo County from January 2017 to December 2022, and an AB 1058 Commissioner for the Fresno County Superior Court for 10 months prior to the "Child Support is a Fraud" podcast, where Grant made his revelation, is hosted by Lionel "TJ" Tillman, the author of the book "How I Stopped Child Support". Tillman claims he got his child support case dismissed after pointing out legal loopholes in state and federal laws. Tillman is probably the reason why Grant labeled attorney Erin Childs as a "fake judge" because TJ always uses that term while explaining why child support is a fraud. "Child support is an administrative hearing. They are not judicial officers. So, family court, when you go through child custody, visitation and things of that nature, that's a judicial process. But when you go to child support, that's an administrative process…28 USC 1691 says all writs and processes issued from a court in the United States must be under the seal of the court and signed by the clerk thereof. An attorney cannot issue a judicial order. This is not my opinion. This is facts…These fake judges in these hearings they are attorneys acting as a temporary judge. So the fact that a fake judge issued you judgement, that makes it fraud because an attorney can't issue a money judgement," said Tillman on the "Inside the Vault" podcast. Horace made a total of $67.9 million during his 17-year NBA career, and it's sad to hear him talk about how child support battles are starting to affect his finances. However, then again, Grant has eight kids with three different women, which is never easy to deal story was originally reported by Basketball Network on Jul 5, 2025, where it first appeared.

"He was the most popular teammate we had" - Horace Grant on why the Bulls loved Pippen more than Jordan

"He was the most popular teammate we had" - Horace Grant on why the Bulls loved Pippen more than Jordan originally appeared on Basketball Network. While Michael Jordan was the face of the Chicago Bulls franchise for much of the 1990s, his teammates didn't necessarily adore him. His tyrannical leadership crossed so many lines and caused tension in practices. Point guard Steve Kerr even got into a punching skirmish against MJ. Advertisement The most beloved teammate crown went to ace forward Scottie Pippen. Known for his tenacious defense, Pip was approachable, funny, and compassionate. Horace Grant said Bulls players could practically talk about anything with Scottie, and the forward would listen and give helpful advice. "He was the most popular teammate we had," said Grant said in 2010 via "You could laugh with him and joke, and he wasn't the kind of guy who got mad. He was a fun teammate, fun to be around and always cared about everyone. If you had a problem, you could always talk it out with him." On the hardcourt, Pippen's personable aura also came through. He involved everyone in the offense and ensured everyone was doing all right. "And he loved the game and the team," Grant continued. "He was unselfish, but unselfish to a fault. We knew when he had the ball, he was going to make a play and score or find the open guy. We had some great times." Perfect complement Perhaps this is why Bulls players stayed in Chicago despite MJ's oppressive ruling style. After receiving a massive scolding from Jordan, players ran to Pippen for some guidance and clarity. The contrast in their leadership styles created the perfect mix of a team needed to succeed in the NBA. Advertisement Another Bulls role player who could attest to that dynamic working was Steve Kerr. "Michael was the harda—. He was the guy that was coming hard at you, and you had to be ready every single day for his criticism, his force, his intensity, and intimidation," Kerr said. "Scottie was the one who balanced everything out. He would put his arms around you and make sure you are ok with all the difficulty that you had to face being a member of that time. Scottie was beloved by everybody, including Michael, but he was a phenomenal basketball player," he added. Related: "I can't get so close to it, too, because of my competitive nature" - Michael Jordan on why he can't get himself to be a fan of any one player in the NBA A leader's rise Pippen's leadership style was tested when Jordan retired after the 1992-93 NBA season. The championship roster was pretty much intact, and with Scottie taking over the mantle, he guided Chicago to a stellar 55-27 record. Advertisement Though they failed to win the chip, Grant believes the season highlighted Pippen's leadership abilities. While most analysts were surprised, Horace and the Bulls knew Scottie was a natural leader. "That season showed his leadership and that he could carry a team," Grant said. "He had to step into that role, and he did, and we were successful, more than anyone thought we ever could be. Everyone wrote us off, but we knew the kind of players we had, and we knew how good Scottie was. I wasn't surprised at all." Pip finished third in MVP voting that season — a fact many fans have overlooked. He also made the All-NBA First Team and All-Defensive First Team. The season was a testament to Scottie's superior basketball skills. Without Jordan, Pippen proved he could carry his massive load and wear his shoes. Perhaps if he had been given one more full season to lead the Bulls, Pip would've brought them to the promised land.
