Days of Our Lives Recap: Holly and Arianna Are Rescued originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Hernandez House: Javi is chatting with Leo who is all upset he can't cover the trial because he is sitting on the jury. Javi notes he can write a tell-all book. Javi plays with little T and tells him how hard it will be to say goodbye to him. He promises the baby he will always be in his heart. Horton Square: Gwen walks up and Leo snarks about her stolen jewelry. She was headed over to The Spectator to catch up but takes a seat and asks her old chum for the details. He says things are looking up but Gwen wonders how with Leo as it's star journalist. They shift over to discussing the necklace and Gwen says owning it is just the start of what she has planned for Salem. Leo tells Gwen he has a tidbit of gossip as she saw her heading into the Salem Inn with Xander. He wonders if she is really getting involved with someone who broke her heart. Leo notes Xander is married but Gwen informs him that he and Sarah have hit the skids. He thinks she is a fool for going down that road again. She admits she did hit rock bottom when Xander broke her heart. That being said, Matty is the one who truly broke her heart. Leo knows how much his affair with Dimitri devastated her. He says he left her myriad messages saying it was the biggest regret of his life. Leo would do anything to rectify the situation. Gwen gets a little weepy but says there's nothing he can do to fix what he did. Leo says, when it came to Dimitri, they both lost big. Gwen notes his new relationship and Leo tells her a bit about Javi. She relaxes a bit and says she thinks they are both lucky to have each other. With that, Leo gets up and heads home to his beloved and little T. Titan/DiMera: Johnny arrives to record Philip and Xander's statements before his trial starts tomorrow. Xander and Gabi end their intimate embrace. Gabi recalls how happy she was when Arianna Grace arrived in town and now, she wishes she had told her daughter to stay back. She thinks the chaos Arianna has experienced is all her fault as she is a terrible mother. Xander sees how much she loves her daughter and understands wanting to protect your own child. They exchange a smile and Xander caresses her shoulder before she exits right past Philip. Philip asks Xander what he did to upset Gabi and the two begin to go at each other just as Johnny walks in to film their statement. Xander wonders if it was a good idea to bring Johnny on board as EJ owns the hospital and he and his father have made nice. Johnny admits he is on better terms with his dad but is loyal to their company. Philip asks for a minute and sends Johnny out. He tells Xander all the reasons they should keep Johnny on board. Johnny returns and Philip says he's not going anywhere. Philip and Xander make their statement as Johnny films. They finish up just as Victoria begins to cry. Xander says he has spoken to HR about starting a daycare but that will take a while. Philip tells him to get over himself and make an agreement with Sarah. Warehouse/Alley: Arianna Grace and Holly can't find any way to escape. Arianna finds a vent and thinks it might lead outside. Arianna crawls in and says she sees daylight. She begins to panic when she realizes she is stuck. Tate and Rafe continue searching for Holly and Arianna Grace. Tate shows Rafe Holly's class ring that Felicity found. Rafe says he's checking out some abandoned buildings. Tate wants to help but Rafe tells him to stay behind while he takes a look. After Rafe leaves, Tate immediately goes to search. Tate searches for the empty warehouse when he hears Arianna Grace screaming. He heads to the door and he and Holly call out to each other. Tate kicks in the door and hugs Holly. Rafe arrives and says Arianna is stuck in the vent. As Rafe calls out to her, the vent crashes and Arianna screams. Rafe continues to call out to her but she is unconscious. Rafe somehow gets to her and puts her on a table just as Javi arrives to tend to her. Gabi arrives just after Arianna regains consciousness. Hernandez House: Gabi arrives and says Xander sent her home because Arianna Grace has been kidnapped. Javi tears up and pulls his cousin into an embrace. Javi asks if she will watch the baby so he can go into work early and see if he can find out anything about Arianna's case. Gabi watches the baby and says out loud how much she loves her daughter and how much she worries about her baby. Just then, Leo walks in and says how sorry he is about Arianna Grace. Gabi gets a call from Javi that Arianna and Holly have been found in a local warehouse, and he is on his way. Leo and Gabi are both in tears when they awkwardly hug. Leo calls young Douglas and is furious when he finds out his loan shark took the girls. He thinks Gabi will never forgive him if she knew his connection to the situation. Days of Our Lives Recap: Felicity Finds Holly's Ring Endings Gwen returns to her room and secures the necklace in her safe. She laughs as she thinks about the havoc she's going to wreak in Salem. Johnny exits as the tension between Philip and Xander reaches its peak. Xander says he hates working with his brother and wants to send him to the Hong Kong office. Philip thinks it's' the perfect setting for Xander and makes his exit. Leo is alone with little T talking about his own childhood. He thinks spending time with the little one has done him a world of good. Leo tears up at the thought something might ever happen to him. Arianna Grace and Gabi exchange hugs and I love yous. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Brady Pub – Outside: Roman runs into Marlena who updates him on Paul and Andrew's wedding. They get to the point and Marlena says she thinks Johnny may have shot EJ. By his reaction, she deduces he already knew. Horton Square: Sophia meets up with Melinda. She says neither her mother nor Tate really want to hire her, but she does. Melinda references her own teenage pregnancy experience and agrees to help her. Melinda says she will waive her retainer fee as she is committed to helping in any way she can. Titan/DiMera: Johnny arrives in Alex' office fresh off multiple trainings and ready to go. A frustrated Alex indicates things have gone awry. Johnny inquires and Alex says the company is in terrible trouble after the issues between Xander and Philip. Further, Xander sold off a lot of the company's assets to buy University Hospital, which fell through. Just then, Xander arrives ready to draw DiMera blood. Xander wants to petition the hospital board for a second vote about the ownership question as he was arrested right before the vote. Alex thinks they should cut their losses, but Xander is ready to move forward. Xander asks the newbie (Johnny) if he has any issues with undercutting his father. Johnny quickly says and Alex gives Xander an update on his training. Alex thinks Johnny belongs in marketing with Gabi Chic and in PR with the publishing division and Johnny is on board. Xander questions the reviving of the publishing division and Alex gives him a hint about a potentially profitable new venture. University Hospital – Lobby: Stephanie runs into Sarah who wants to talk. She brings up Philip's forged letter and how Xander knows the truth. Stephanie wonders who squealed, but Sarah has no clue. She says she asked Philip, but he denied it. That being said, she thinks he is lying about both his denial and clearing Xander. Stephanie thinks Xander could have used Philip's inheritance as leverage to keep him quiet. Sarah agrees but says there is no proof and asks if Stephanie would be willing to dig. She says she'll try but wonders if Sarah actually wants the information that could send Xander to prison. Sarah doubles down and says, if he is guilty, he deserves what he gets. University Hospital – Philip's Room: Philip awakens and pulls grabs his iPad where he sees the article about Xander being exonerated for beating the fool out of him. Just then, Brady arrives, and they catch up about his injuries. Philip offers his condolences about John and mentions Bo's recovery. Brady says his recovery and Xander's exoneration are also things to celebrate. He says they are all family, and he can't deal with losing anyone else. Philip and Brady agree to catch a baseball game when he gets out of the hospital. Just then, Stephanie arrives, and Brady exits. They get right down to business about who attacked him. Philip wonders why he would go back to work with Titan/DiMera if Xander assaulted him. Stephanie mentions his inheritance and Philip acts mortified by the implication. She asks if he told Xander about Sarah's involvement which he also denies. She notes, if he had done it, he would probably feel very guilty, which Philip confirms. Brady Pub – Apartment: Marlena explains to Roman about Rachel's bad dream and subsequent confession about seeing Johnny with a gun pointed at EJ. Roman says he didn't know but isn't surprised. He explains about the gun behind the bar and how it was gone the night of the shooting. Roman says he went to the DiMera mansion and found his gun stuffed in a planter. He grabbed it and got out of there when he heard sirens around the bend. He says he confronted Johnny afterwards but doesn't believe him as there was one bullet missing from the gun. Marlena thinks they need to do something as Johnny needs to unburden himself and Rachel is ill from the stress. They establish Kristen knows which means Brady probably does, too. Roman admits he told Kate and Marlena says word is out. She thinks they need to talk to Johnny and Roman grabs his phone. Titan/DiMera: Johnny gets a text and takes off for an early lunch. Left alone, Xander thanks Alex for his loyalty. He says his cousin has fully regained his trust. Xander says Philip will be back as they have to play nice for the company's sake. University Hospital – Lobby: Stephanie reports back to Sarah that Philip denied everything about Xander assaulting him or that he told the truth about her involvement in the fraud. Sarah thanks her and as Stephanie makes her leave, something shocking catches her eye. The Bistro: Stephanie walks in to meet Alex. He quickly understands she is not happy and asks what's up. With that, she pulls her manuscript out and asks why she found it in the hospital lobby. Stephanie says the nurse she spoke with said it had been making the rounds with the staff who all think it is amazing. Alex agrees which further infuriates her. Horton Square: Melinda and Sophia get started with paperwork when Sophia needs a bathroom break. Just then, Brady arrives on the scene. He tells Melinda his family doesn't trust her and references her involvement with Sloan Peterson (I miss her). Brady tells her to stay away from his family and makes his exit. Xander approaches Melinda and asks if there is an update on his quest for custody of Victoria. He is unhappy to learn joint custody will likely be the result. Xander wonders if there's anything 'outside the box' they can do. She nails him down on a meaning of 'outside the law' and Xander says maybe. University Hospital – Lobby: Sarah talks to Justin who clearly thinks the decision will be joint custody. She is furious that she has no options for full custody. Brady Pub – Apartment: Johnny arrives, and Roman and Marlena jump right in. Roman asks if Johnny shot his father and how his gun disappeared from behind the bar. Marlena pushes and he admits to taking the gun. Marlena tells him about Roman finding the gun in a planter and asks if that's where he left it. Johnny is clearly confused and says it's all kind of a blur. He remembers getting to the mansion and holding the gun on his father. Johnny begins to cry when he recalls EJ telling him not to shoot and how badly he felt his son way paying the price for his sins. When his father asked for the gun, Johnny handed it to him. He didn't shoot his father and feels horrible for ever wanting to do so. Horton Square: Brady walks up to Xander wanting to talk about Basic Black. Xander has no bandwidth and mentions trying to call for a re-vote of the hospital board. Brady confirms at least one board member could be convinced to change their vote – him. Endings Philip accepts a call from Vivian. He says she is the reason he almost died and will never forgive her. Philip says he is done with her forever and hangs up. Brady confirms he will support Xander if the hospital board votes again. Xander thanks him for the support and Brady exits. Just then, Sarah arrives. Melinda tells Sophia she can't help her with the adoption because Tate and his family won't stand for it. She promises to try and find her representation in her stead. Alex explains how he gave the manuscript to Kate, who accidentally left it at the hospital. He goes on to say no one who read it has any clue she wrote it. Before Stephanie can go off on him, Alex says Kate LOVED the manuscript and thinks it could be a best seller. This information clearly intrigues Stephanie. Roman and Marlena believe Johnny who is relieved to get the story off his chest. Roman doesn't understand how the gun got to the planter when Johnny gave it to EJ. Further, there is no explanation for the missing bullet. Roman says someone else must have used the gun to confront EJ after Johnny left the house. Days of Our Lives Recap: Andrew and Paul Tie The Knot originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Steve and Kayla's Place: The duo awaken and get to sexy time. They finish up this round and Kayla says she's been feelings all kinds of sexy after finding this manuscript at the hospital. She shows Steve who wants to get started trying out all kinds of different things (Oh no). Horton Square: Shane and Tate meet for coffee before the wedding and discuss the baseball game they attended the night before. He says he spoke with Theresa and filled her in on the latest. Tate updates his grandfather on Sophia and says he hoped he would stay around for the baby's birth. Shane asks how Tate is feeling about everything and apologizes for not being around enough. Tate talks about the pregnancy milestones and Shane thinks he may be having second thoughts about the adoption. Tate says he hasn't changed his mind but doesn't want their child to feel abandoned. He references Eve and how her life was impacted by the adoption. Shane says these are very different circumstances and he is doing what's best for his child's future. Brady Pub: Carrie and Belle are chatting. Carrie mentions EJ and Belle says they are still going forward. Carrie promises not to judge, and Belle admits she loves him. Just then, Will walks in and joins his aunts before they head over to the wedding. Carrie makes mention of Will's history with Paul (for those who don't know Will cheated on Sonny with Paul before anyone knew who he was). Wedding Central: Brady and Eric set up for the big event. Eric notes it's the first time he's officiated a same sex wedding. Brady is certain he will be terrific. Brady is happy to be Paul's best man which leads him to remember his father and how much he misses him. Eric makes mention of Philip waking up and Brady says Xander seems to be in the clear as Philip didn't implicate him. Brady switches topics and asks Eric about Nicole as he gets the feeling something is wrong. Eric says he truly has no clue if his relationship is ok. Salem Inn – Andrew and Paul's Room: Andrew and Paul get all sexy and cute before hitting the sheets. They finish up and get to talking about their upcoming nuptials. Paul says he is a little nervous thinking about being married to an ISA agent and not knowing where he is or what he's doing. Andrew gets it, especially with John's death, and promises nothing will ever come between them. They go over the details of the service including a video stream so Kimberly and Theresa can be there. Paul gets teary-eyed when he says he misses his dad and mother (I don't think we knew Tori died). Andrew pulls out a gift for Paul from Marlena, John's watch – something old and borrowed. Marlena and John's Penthouse: Marlena tells Rachel what she heard her say in her sleep. She tells her granddaughter sometimes we say things in sleep we're uncomfortable saying when we're awake. She encourages Rachel to tell her what's going on but she says her mother told her not to tell. Marlena says she thinks the nightmares and tummy aches are related to the secret she's keeping. Rachel relents saying she knows who shot EJ. Rachel provides some information about Mama Blake and wanting to keep her and Johnny safe. Marlena is rightfully confused when Rachel says Johnny shot EJ. Wedding Central: Marlena and Rachel arrive. Eric and Brady scoot Rachel away and Marlena calls Roman, saying they need to talk after the ceremony. Everyone begins to show up for the festivities. Will, Carrie and Belle chat with Marlena and she says how glad they're all there, especially Carrie and Will. Shane, Tate, Steve and Kayla gather when Eric says it' time to call the event to order. Just then, Paul and Andrew arrive. Kayla walks up and straightens Andrew's tie. She fawns over him and says she can't believe her little nephew is getting married. Kayla offers to be his surrogate mom in Kimberly's absence and Andrew says she was always like a mother to him. Marlena straightens Paul's tie and says how handsome he is. He shows her the watch on his wrist and how grateful he is to be wearing it. She wants him to keep it so he can feel close to his father at all times. Eric asks everyone to take their seats, and the grooms take their places up front. He begins the ceremony and says the first part pays homage to Paul's family in Japan. A couple drinks from the same cup, and they are united in marriage. Carrie sets it up as he describes what all each sip represents. Before they drink, Carrie tells them the words they are to repeat and pours the liquid. With that, the two complete the ritual. Eric directs Paul and Andrew to exchange vows. Andrew explains how John was responsible for the two of them meeting (John Black Pride King!). He says no matter where he is they are always together. Andrew says he is blessed Paul chose him to walk through this life. Paul says when he saw Andrew it was love at first sight. He references his mother saying, 'few words speak truth.' Paul says he loves Andrew which is his truth and his vow. He says Andrew knows him like no other, except his dad. Paul says his father was an incurable romantic who told him not to give up on love. He gave him the courage to trust his own heart and take a leap with Andrew. Eric presents the official vows and Andrew and Paul recite them. They each grab their rings and put them on each other's fingers. Eric then pronounces them married and they hug… (no kiss?). Endings Brady gives a funny toast saying he was the cool cat in the family when Paul came in and stole his thunder. He says everyone was enamored by Paul, especially their father. Brady says he is proud to be his best man and prouder to be his brother. Shane steps up and says how he and Andrew were separated for most of his life but still decided to follow in his footsteps. He wants to make it crystal clear that his son is his pride and joy. A stellar ISA agent and a stellar human being. He is thrilled he found someone just as stellar to share his life. He turns to Paul and says he's gained another father in him. Marlena chats with Tate and asks about Rachel. He thinks the tummy ache has passed and all is looking good, as Brady listens in. Carrie walks up and says she's headed out. Her flight is later, but she wants to see her dad who is stuck at the pub. Marlena tears up saying how nice it has been to have her there. With that, they embrace (Don't go, Carrie!). Kayla asks Paul and Andrew about their honeymoon. The two say they've made no decisions, as yet. Shane tells Paul he wants to chat with him after they return about him joining the ISA. He and Andrew shouldn't be apart and there is job awaiting him in DC. Andrew and Paul toast to all their guests. Marlena thanks them for not postponing the nuptials as they all needed a celebration to look forward to. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Salem High School: Holly is late for graduation and runs into Tate. As Tate fixes Holly's cap, Aaron and Sophia arrive. Holly admits she is nervous for her speech and Aaron makes a big deal about her Salutatorian status. Holly says she always thought Sophia would be making that speech and everyone awkwardly moves the conversation forward. They all agree graduation is both exciting and sad. It's the end of an era. Holly tries to comfort Tate, but it makes him uncomfortable. He asks about Jude and just then Sophia grabs her stomach and screams out in pain. She says she thinks she is in labor. They exit to the hospital leaving Aaron and Holly behind to walk. Horton Square: Abe is sitting with Paulina while she practices her graduation speech. She wants to make sure he's good spending a part of their anniversary at a graduation. Abe is good as he always loved delivering them himself. Abe gets up for a coffee refill when Chanel arrives. She wants to get to Sweet Bits to work on Andrew and Paul's wedding cake. Paulina shifts to Chanel's earlier doctor's appointment. Chanel says she is worried about that result but then fills her mother in on Johnny's possible reconciliation with his father. Paulina can't believe the latest events. Chanel says she isn't certain she can live with that particular decision. Just then, Abe returns, and Chanel exits, walking away from Sweet Bits. Paulina's speech is inspirational and weaves in the meaning of Juneteenth and the price of freedom in their new lives. Abe applauds and Paulina says it's time for them to hit the trail. University Hospital – Exam Room: Marlena tells Sarah about her dizzy spell. She admits not eating a lot lately and is exhausted but thinks those are to be expected. Sarah wants to run some tests just to make sure. Sarah notes her vital signs are within the normal range and says she'll get started on the bloodwork. They both think grief is actually responsible for her symptoms. Sarah mentions her going to therapy or a support group. Marlena hesitates and promises to think about it. DiMera Mansion – Living Room: EJ arrives to find Brady sitting there waiting to take Rachel to graduation. Further, she will be spending the night with him as Kristen is getting Mama Blake settled in Aremid. EJ feigns joy and surprise, but Brady says he knows exactly what's going on. Brady says he knows everything about the deal Kristen made with him involving Johnny and Mama Blake. EJ hopes Brady has agreed to keep quiet and he confirms, though he is still very worried about his daughter. Just then, Rachel walks in and asks if she's ready to go. She says she is but mentions she just threw up. Brady says there's a change of plans and sweeps her away to the doctor. EJ calls someone and demands to know that Mama Blake is safely in Aremid and will never set foot in Salem again. Just then, Chanel arrives ready to rip him limb from limb. She mentions his possible reconciliation with Johnny and EJ tries to shut her down. Chanel is having NONE of EJ's foolishness and says he hurt the love of her life, and no one gets away with that. When EJ asks if she is threatening him, Chanel confirms she is (Raven Bowens BROUGHT IT!). University Hospital – Lobby: Marlena thanks Sarah for her time and asks about Xander. Sarah's reaction prompts Marlena to say she's there to listen. Sarah doesn't want to bother her, but Marlena says being useful and productive is the best medicine for her. Just then, Brady walks in and Rachel runs into her grandmother's arms. Sarah takes Rachel into an exam room leaving Marlena and Brady to chat. Marlena tells him she will stay with Rachel. As Brady is about to exit to the graduation, Tate, Sophia and Mama Choi arrive looking for a doctor. A nurse arrives and wheels her to a room. Just then, Mama Choi gets a call from her husband. University Hospital – Exam Room: Sarah asks Rachel about her tummy ache, and she says it basically hurts all the time. Sarah digs about what might be bothering Rachel. She takes a seat and explains confidentiality to young Rachel and pinky swears she will keep between them whatever she says. Rachel says sometimes she hears and sees things she shouldn't. Just then, a nurse walks in saying a young woman in labor just arrived. She gives her instructions and sends her on her way. Sarah returns to Rachel who has now clammed up. Rachel says she doesn't know why but she feels better when she's with Sarah. University Hospital – Lobby: Sarah and Rachel return and Marlena sends Tate off with his sister to grab something from the cafeteria. Left alone, Sarah tells Brady and Marlena she thinks Sarah's symptoms may be psychosomatic. She's glad Rachel is seeing a therapist as she thinks grief and worry are the culprit. Tate and Rachel return and Marlena thinks they should have a sleepover. Sarah confirms it's just what the doctor ordered. With that, Marlena sweeps her granddaughter away and leaves Tate and Brady to deal with the birth of his child. Salem High School: Graduation is complete, and Aaron and Holly discuss the day. Holly notes her mother and Eric sat on opposite sides of the arena. She just knows something happened between them. University Hospital – Sophia's Room: Sarah tells Sophia her blood pressure is a little up and she needs to try and relax. Sarah asks what's worrying her most. Sophia says she's concerned about labor but also about not having a family to adopt their baby. She worries when Tate sees the baby he's going to fall in love and not want to give it up. Sophia admits she has feelings for the baby and notes different moments in her pregnancy. That being said, she wants what is best for the baby and her and Tate. Sarah commends her for truly thinking through her decision and knows she will stay strong no matter what. Just then, another contraction hits. The Bistro: Abe and Paulina discuss graduation and how wonderful it was. Marlena and John's Penthouse: Marlena and Rachel are putting a puzzle together. They decide they're both a little tired and Rachel lies down and quickly falls out. University Hospital – Lobby: Tate is freaking out along with Mama Choi as Sophia wants neither of them around. Brady calms his son by checking in. Tate has whiplash by the course of today's events. Just then, Sarah and a nurse wheel out Sophia. Endings Holly tells Aaron about her mother and Eric's relationship. Aaron says folks fight and wants her to focus on her upcoming trip to Paris (I really like Louis Tomeo). With that, he escorts her out to catch up with their families. Sarah explains to everyone how Sophia thought she was in labor as it's very difficult to distinguish Braxton-Hicks from the real thing. Sophia apologizes to everyone, but Tate says all is good. Sophia thinks they should still do something to celebrate and offers to treat everyone to dinner. Brady and Tate say they have other plans, and Mama Choi thinks Sophia should get home, which leaves her less than thrilled. Brady thanks Sarah for everything she did today. He offers an ear if she ever wants to vent about Xander. Chanel walks into The Bistro and runs into her mother and Abe. They ask her to grab a seat for some family time. Chanel seems less than enthused when they all toast to the future. EJ arrives home and fields a call from Rita. He asks her to return the memory stick he gave her several weeks prior. Days of Our Lives Recap: Xander and EJ Unknowingly Compete to Purchase University Hospital
On today's Days of Our Lives recap: DiMera Mansion – Living Room: EJ and Dr Russell chat about his difficulties with getting out of his contract with the hospital. EJ says all will be good as his going to Kayla covers both of their backsides. It also keeps Kayla from realizing they are working together. Dr Russell worries about the hospital and his research going under. EJ assures him the hospital will not be going under as he is going to bank roll it. Dr Russell inquires, and EJ blatantly says he is going to buy University Hospital. Once his drug is approved, the hospital will be fully profitable and they will both be seen as heroes. Horton Square: Stephanie runs into Philip. He says he's on the way to see Roman to get an update on Bo. Stephanie can't go as her parents are waiting on her at home. She also wants to avoid the inevitable celebration he and Kate will have since they realized all of their hopes and dreams. Philip explains Xander kicked him out of the house but not the company. Stephanie gets sarcastic when saying she's glad he can enjoy the spoils of his victory. Philip asks if she is going to spread the word. Stephanie admits she would LOVE to tell Chad everything about Philip's scheme and have it splashed across the front page but will resist the temptation. She says she isn't protecting Philip, only Sarah. Before she can exit, Philip says he is sorry. Stephanie doesn't understand and Philip explains he's sorry for lying, compromising her integrity and treating her like an afterthought for months. She asks why it was so important for him to do what he did. Philip says he wasn't trying to deny Xander his share of Titan but he says that wasn't his intention. He wanted to prove to his father that he was worthy of his consideration. Stephanie understands his motivations as they are very human. She says there are a lot of hurt feelings between them but she would like to think they will eventually be able to move forward. With that, they part ways. Kiriakis Mansion: Xander and Alex are discussing the pharmaceutical company owned by DiMera Enterprises. Alex says they are sitting on a goldmine. He has found the breakthrough drug they need to make all of the money. Alex found DiMera was looking for a cure for sepsis, which is specifically relevant for Xander's brother Bo. Xander tells Alex to direct the company to go full force towards creating the drug. Alex says there is one catch as someone might be beating them to the punch. Alex says research at University Hospital is competing with them to get the drug to market. Xander congratulates Alex on his work and sends him off to take the night for himself. Alex promises Xander will not regret giving him a second chance. Brady Pub: Shawn Douglas and Belle run into each other and chat a bit about Bo (and we get a Claire Bear mention!). Belle believes Bo won't give up without a fight and Shawn D says neither will he. Shawn D knows Belle can relate and they chat a bit about the search for John. University Hospital – Kayla's Office: Steve arrives and comforts Kayla about Bo's condition. She says if they are going to steal the drug to save his life it has to happen now. Steve says they should quiet this stealing talk down in public (smart man). Kayla says she knows she's going to be implicated if Steve and Shawn D are caught. Steve is concerned about the risks and Kayla agrees. That being said, it could save Bo's life. Kayla tells him to steal one dose so, perhaps, no will notice. Just then, Sarah arrives and Steve makes his exit. Sarah asks if there is anything she can take off her plate so Kayla can call it a night. She says if it would help to save the hospital money, she is willing to skip her conference in Chicago. Sarah gets to the real point and says she actually wants to skip the conference and spend it at a cabin with her husband and child. She isn't sure Kayla can find anyone who will be able to take her place… Kayla tells Sarah to spend the weekend with her family, and she will figure out someone who is more research focused to send. Sarah hugs her boss and makes her exit. Dr Russell returns and Kayla says she wanted to show him there were no hard feelings by throwing an opportunity his way. She gives him the opportunity to go to the Chicago research conference. Dr Russell says he isn't great with people skills and thinks he is the wrong person to represent the hospital. Kayla pushes just as EJ arrives on the scene and she sends Dr Russell on his way. Kayla inquires about EJ's intentions and he says he wants to be the hospital's savior. Kiriakis Mansion: Sarah returns and asks Xander what she is reading. He tells her a bit about the pharmaceuticals and asks what she knows about sepsis. She brings up Bo and asks for more details about the diagnosis. Sarah gives him some information and says the mortality rates are very high. Xander gets very specific and asks about any research going on at University Hospital. Sarah switches topics and says she got out of her conference and booked them a cabin on Lake Geneva for the weekend. He inquires as to why and Sarah says they need to get away. Xander pushes back but Sarah thinks surely Alex can watch Philip for a weekend. Sarah does a little sexual convincing which seems to push him over the edge. Xander is now relaxing with cucumbers on his eyes after Sarah returns from putting Victoria down. He still isn't convinced of a spa weekend and wonders why the getaway is so important to her. Sarah explains how difficult the last few months have been. She thinks they both need a break from everything. Xander agrees and says they are alone tonight allowing him to give her a taste of their weekend. Brady Pub: Steve meets up with Shawn Douglas and says Kayla is on board and thinks they need to move quickly. Shawn D is ready to go but Steve says they have to hold off until they figure out Dr Russell's schedule. Horton Square: Belle runs into Philip, and he updates her on remaining as co-CEO of Titan. Belle can't believe it but he explains legal thought it would be too big of a mess to let his fraud go public. He goes on to say he looped Justin in, who was very disappointed in him, as well as Maggie. Philip hates disappointing everyone and realizes he must be Victor's son. The person he feels most guilty about hurting is Xander because they actually were starting to feel like brothers. Stephanie's Place: Stephanie and Alex arrive home, and he surprises her with candles all over the bedroom (how did he make that happen?). He has set up a movie night for his beloved with popcorn and wine. They discuss what they will be watching and she suggests something a little sexier. Alex mentions he found her manuscript. Stephanie is embarrassed but Alex says her writing is amazing and he can't wait to finish it. She says it's a romance novel, but he notes how graphic it is. Stephanie begins to blush, but Alex thinks it's great she has written a steamy affair. He is excited to know more about her inner most fantasies and desires. With that, they decide to act out a few chapters. Days of Our Lives Recap: Gabi Admits to Taking Rafe's Gun The Night of EJ's Shooting Endings Belle thinks Philip is mourning the loss of Xander because he is also worried about losing Bo. Philip thinks her insights are poignant and takes the opportunity to ask that she not spread the word of his fraud. Belle says he is covered under attorney client privilege but also because they are friends. She tells him to keep his nose clean but to also watch his back because he has pissed off all kinds of folks. With that, she exits. Steve says they have to be careful so as not to endanger the future of a drug which could help millions, as Bo would think the same. Shawn Douglas agrees but also reiterates they have to hurry. Kayla wonders from whence EJ's generosity came. He talks a bit about the care he got that saved his life. EJ, perhaps, wants to give back to those who saved him. He asks Kayla if she will help him save the hospital by purchasing it. Kayla isn't convinced and says it's a hard pass. She knows he could solve all the hospital's problems, but experience tells her there are always strings attached. Kayla says the fundraiser gave the hospital enough wiggle room to avoid a ridiculous offer. EJ says he will go over her head but Kayla is certain her influence with the board will have more sway. EJ winces as he stands and says she will soon come crawling back. With that, he exits. Stephanie and Alex sleep in their afterglow as he hears his phone buzzing. He extracts himself from her embrace and answers Xander's call. Xander says he has a plan that will save University Hospital, Sarah's job and allow them to get their hands of the drug.
