Days of Our Lives Recap: Andrew and Paul Tie The Knot
On today's Days of Our Lives recap:
Steve and Kayla's Place: The duo awaken and get to sexy time. They finish up this round and Kayla says she's been feelings all kinds of sexy after finding this manuscript at the hospital. She shows Steve who wants to get started trying out all kinds of different things (Oh no).
Horton Square: Shane and Tate meet for coffee before the wedding and discuss the baseball game they attended the night before. He says he spoke with Theresa and filled her in on the latest. Tate updates his grandfather on Sophia and says he hoped he would stay around for the baby's birth.
Shane asks how Tate is feeling about everything and apologizes for not being around enough. Tate talks about the pregnancy milestones and Shane thinks he may be having second thoughts about the adoption. Tate says he hasn't changed his mind but doesn't want their child to feel abandoned. He references Eve and how her life was impacted by the adoption. Shane says these are very different circumstances and he is doing what's best for his child's future.
Brady Pub: Carrie and Belle are chatting. Carrie mentions EJ and Belle says they are still going forward. Carrie promises not to judge, and Belle admits she loves him. Just then, Will walks in and joins his aunts before they head over to the wedding. Carrie makes mention of Will's history with Paul (for those who don't know Will cheated on Sonny with Paul before anyone knew who he was).
Wedding Central: Brady and Eric set up for the big event. Eric notes it's the first time he's officiated a same sex wedding. Brady is certain he will be terrific. Brady is happy to be Paul's best man which leads him to remember his father and how much he misses him.
Eric makes mention of Philip waking up and Brady says Xander seems to be in the clear as Philip didn't implicate him. Brady switches topics and asks Eric about Nicole as he gets the feeling something is wrong. Eric says he truly has no clue if his relationship is ok.
Salem Inn – Andrew and Paul's Room: Andrew and Paul get all sexy and cute before hitting the sheets. They finish up and get to talking about their upcoming nuptials. Paul says he is a little nervous thinking about being married to an ISA agent and not knowing where he is or what he's doing. Andrew gets it, especially with John's death, and promises nothing will ever come between them.
They go over the details of the service including a video stream so Kimberly and Theresa can be there. Paul gets teary-eyed when he says he misses his dad and mother (I don't think we knew Tori died). Andrew pulls out a gift for Paul from Marlena, John's watch – something old and borrowed.
Marlena and John's Penthouse: Marlena tells Rachel what she heard her say in her sleep. She tells her granddaughter sometimes we say things in sleep we're uncomfortable saying when we're awake. She encourages Rachel to tell her what's going on but she says her mother told her not to tell. Marlena says she thinks the nightmares and tummy aches are related to the secret she's keeping. Rachel relents saying she knows who shot EJ.
Rachel provides some information about Mama Blake and wanting to keep her and Johnny safe. Marlena is rightfully confused when Rachel says Johnny shot EJ.
Wedding Central: Marlena and Rachel arrive. Eric and Brady scoot Rachel away and Marlena calls Roman, saying they need to talk after the ceremony. Everyone begins to show up for the festivities. Will, Carrie and Belle chat with Marlena and she says how glad they're all there, especially Carrie and Will.
Shane, Tate, Steve and Kayla gather when Eric says it' time to call the event to order. Just then, Paul and Andrew arrive. Kayla walks up and straightens Andrew's tie. She fawns over him and says she can't believe her little nephew is getting married. Kayla offers to be his surrogate mom in Kimberly's absence and Andrew says she was always like a mother to him.
Marlena straightens Paul's tie and says how handsome he is. He shows her the watch on his wrist and how grateful he is to be wearing it. She wants him to keep it so he can feel close to his father at all times.
Eric asks everyone to take their seats, and the grooms take their places up front. He begins the ceremony and says the first part pays homage to Paul's family in Japan. A couple drinks from the same cup, and they are united in marriage. Carrie sets it up as he describes what all each sip represents. Before they drink, Carrie tells them the words they are to repeat and pours the liquid. With that, the two complete the ritual.
Eric directs Paul and Andrew to exchange vows. Andrew explains how John was responsible for the two of them meeting (John Black Pride King!). He says no matter where he is they are always together. Andrew says he is blessed Paul chose him to walk through this life.
Paul says when he saw Andrew it was love at first sight. He references his mother saying, 'few words speak truth.' Paul says he loves Andrew which is his truth and his vow. He says Andrew knows him like no other, except his dad. Paul says his father was an incurable romantic who told him not to give up on love. He gave him the courage to trust his own heart and take a leap with Andrew.
Eric presents the official vows and Andrew and Paul recite them. They each grab their rings and put them on each other's fingers. Eric then pronounces them married and they hug… (no kiss?).
Endings
Brady gives a funny toast saying he was the cool cat in the family when Paul came in and stole his thunder. He says everyone was enamored by Paul, especially their father. Brady says he is proud to be his best man and prouder to be his brother.
Shane steps up and says how he and Andrew were separated for most of his life but still decided to follow in his footsteps. He wants to make it crystal clear that his son is his pride and joy. A stellar ISA agent and a stellar human being. He is thrilled he found someone just as stellar to share his life. He turns to Paul and says he's gained another father in him.
Marlena chats with Tate and asks about Rachel. He thinks the tummy ache has passed and all is looking good, as Brady listens in. Carrie walks up and says she's headed out. Her flight is later, but she wants to see her dad who is stuck at the pub. Marlena tears up saying how nice it has been to have her there. With that, they embrace (Don't go, Carrie!).
Kayla asks Paul and Andrew about their honeymoon. The two say they've made no decisions, as yet. Shane tells Paul he wants to chat with him after they return about him joining the ISA. He and Andrew shouldn't be apart and there is job awaiting him in DC.
Andrew and Paul toast to all their guests. Marlena thanks them for not postponing the nuptials as they all needed a celebration to look forward to. They look up and Rachel points out the rainbow arched over the wedding party.

Not just Big Bird: Things to know about the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and its funding cuts
Not just Big Bird: Things to know about the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and its funding cuts The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which helps pay for PBS, NPR, 1,500 local radio and television stations as well as programs like 'Sesame Street' and 'Finding Your Roots,' said Friday that it would close after the U.S. government withdrew funding. The organization told employees that most staff positions will end with the fiscal year on Sept. 30. A small transition team will stay until January to finish any remaining work. The private, nonprofit corporation was founded in 1968 shortly after Congress authorized its formation. It now ends nearly six decades of fueling the production of renowned educational programming, cultural content and emergency alerts about natural disasters. Here's what to know: Losing funding President Donald Trump signed a bill on July 24 canceling about $1.1 billion that had been approved for public broadcasting. The White House says the public media system is politically biased and an unnecessary expense, and conservatives have particularly directed their ire at NPR and PBS. Lawmakers with large rural constituencies voiced concern about what the cuts could mean for some local public stations in their state. They warned some stations will have to close. The Senate Appropriations Committee on Thursday reinforced the policy change by excluding funding for the corporation for the first time in more than 50 years as part of a broader spending bill. How it began Congress passed legislation creating the body in 1967, several years after then-Federal Communications Commission Chairman Newton Minow described commercial television a 'vast wasteland' and called for programming in the public interest. The corporation doesn't produce programming and it doesn't own, operate or control any public broadcasting stations. The corporation, PBS, NPR are independent of each other as are local public television and radio stations. Rural stations hit hard Roughly 70% of the corporation's money went directly to 330 PBS and 246 NPR stations across the country. The cuts are expected to weigh most heavily on smaller public media outlets away from big cities, and it's likely some won't survive. NPR's president estimated as many as 80 NPR stations may close in the next year. Mississippi Public Broadcasting has already decided to eliminate a streaming channel that airs children's programming like 'Caillou' and 'Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood' 24 hours a day. Maine's public media system is looking at a hit of $2.5 million, or about 12% of its budget, for the next fiscal year. The state's rural residents rely heavily on public media for weather updates and disaster alerts. In Kodiak, Alaska, KMXT estimated the cuts would slice 22% from its budget. Public radio stations in the sprawling, heavily rural state often provide not just news but alerts about natural disasters like tsunamis, landslides and volcanic eruptions. From Big Bird to war documentaries The first episode of 'Sesame Street' aired in 1969. Child viewers, adults and guest stars alike were instantly hooked. Over the decades, characters from Big Bird to Cookie Monster and Elmo have become household favorites Entertainer Carol Burnett appeared on that inaugural episode. She told The Associated Press she was a big fan. "I would have done anything they wanted me to do,' she said. 'I loved being exposed to all that goodness and humor.' Sesame Street said in May it would also get some help from a Netflix streaming deal. Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. started 'Finding Your Roots' in 2006 under the title 'African American Lives.' He invited prominent Black celebrities and traced their family trees into slavery. When the paper trail ran out, they would use DNA to see which ethnic group they were from in Africa. Challenged by a viewer to open the show to non-Black celebrities, Gates agreed and the series was renamed 'Faces of America,' which had to be changed again after the name was taken. The show is PBS's most-watched program on linear TV and the most-streamed non-drama program. Season 10 reached nearly 18 million people across linear and digital platforms and also received its first Emmy nomination. Grant money from the nonprofit has also funded lesser-known food, history, music and other shows created by stations across the country. Documentarian Ken Burns, celebrated for creating the documentaries 'The Civil War,' 'Baseball' and 'The Vietnam War', told PBS NewsHour said the corporation accounted for about 20% of his films' budgets. He said he would make it up but projects receiving 50% to 75% of their funding from the organization won't. Influence of shows Children's programing in the 1960s was made up of shows like 'Captain Kangaroo,' ''Romper Room' and the violent skirmishes between 'Tom & Jerry.' "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood' mostly taught social skills. 'Sesame Street' was designed by education professionals and child psychologists to help low-income and minority students aged 2-5 overcome some of the deficiencies they had when entering school. Social scientists had long noted white and higher income kids were often better prepared. One of the most widely cited studies about the impact of 'Sesame Street' compared households that got the show with those who didn't. It found that the children exposed to 'Sesame Street' were 14% more likely to be enrolled in the correct grade level for their age at middle and high school. Over the years, 'Finding Your Roots' showed Natalie Morales discovering she's related to one of the legendary pirates of the Caribbean and former 'Saturday Night Live' star Andy Samberg finding his biological grandmother and grandfather. It revealed that drag queen RuPaul and U.S. Sen. Cory Booker are cousins, as are actors Meryl Streep and Eva Longoria. 'The two subliminal messages of 'Finding Your Roots,' which are needed more urgently today than ever, is that what has made America great is that we're a nation of immigrants,' Gates told the AP. 'And secondly, at the level of the genome, despite our apparent physical differences, we're 99.99% the same.' Audrey Mcavoy, The Associated Press

Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson are 2025's newest 'it couple': Why fans are rooting for the co-stars and their 'budding' romance
Pamela Anderson and her "budding" romance with Liam Neeson have captured the public's attention. (Image via Getty Images/Yahoo Canada Illustration) Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson are, without a doubt, the most buzz-worthy couple of 2025. Fans spotted the pair's undeniable chemistry while promoting their new film The Naked Gun — there were flirtatious moments on the red carpet, alongside plenty of laughter, smitten smiles and seemingly intimate body-language. The press tour for the reboot of the Leslie Nielson comedy has generated buzz — not for the film itself, but for letting spectators fall in love with the idea of 72-year-old Neeson and 58-year-old Anderson finding love. According to People, the pair are enjoying the 'early stages' of a 'budding romance.' Advertisement 'It's clear they're smitten with each other,' an anonymous source told the magazine. Social media has gone into a frenzy at the prospect of Anderson and Neeson being the real deal. (Images via Getty Images/X/Yahoo Canada Illustration) Although the source said the relationship began after filming the movie, Neeson has been effusive of his feelings for Anderson. 'With Pamela, first off, I'm madly in love with her. She's just terrific to work with,' Neeson said in an October 2024 interview. 'I can't compliment her enough, I'll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with." Anderson reciprocated, calling the British actor a 'perfect gentleman.' Plenty of press tours rely on the chemistry of stars to sell tickets. You don't have to think too far back to the likes of Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell seemingly leaning into rumours of an on-set affair while doing press for their 2023 film Anyone But You. And you can forget (or perhaps forgive) Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper for purposely leading audiences to believe they 'fell in love' through their film, A Star is Born (2018). Advertisement So, what makes fan fascination with Neeson and Anderson any different? It turns out, plenty. Neeson and Richardson (pictured in 2008) were married for 16 years prior to her death in 2009. Musician Tommy Lee and Anderson (pictured in 1996) made headlines for their sometimes tumultuous relationship. (Images via Getty Images) Aside from being a revered and celebrated actor, Liam Neeson's personal heartbreak has endeared him to fans. In 2009, Neeson's wife, actress Natasha Richardson, died after sustaining a head injury while skiing. The couple had been married for 15 years and shared two sons who were in their early teens at the time of her death. Richardson was a beloved actress in her own right, and a member of the Redgrave acting dynasty. Her role in the '90s film, The Parent Trap, as Lindsay Lohan's lovable bridal designer mother Elizabeth James, cemented her as a sentimental touchstone for millennials who viewed her death as the loss of a pseudo-mother figure. Even though he previously denounced dating, the prospect of Neeson finding love again is heartwarming, but it's whom he's "smitten" with that fuels interest in his personal life. Anderson's past contains its own heartache. She's been a misunderstood public figure and in many ways, a modern-day Marilyn Monroe. Anderson's past contains its own heartache. She's been a misunderstood public figure and in many ways, a modern-day Marilyn Monroe. After experiencing sexual abuse during her childhood, she was catapulted to fame as a sex symbol. Her tumultuous romantic relationships made headlines, as did her private home video with ex-husband Tommy Lee which was stolen and sold without her consent. However, unlike Marilyn, the dismantling of a toxic Hollywood star-system has allowed the mother-of-two to rewrite the narrative assigned to her. In 2023, Anderson debuted a new look that included minimal makeup and high-fashion designer clothes. (Photo by) The former Baywatch star has shed all remnants of her former image, opting for a high-fashion, minimalist, fresh-faced aesthetic. Through her autobiography and documentary, the public has been able to see Anderson as a woman who has struggled with depression for "decades," a dedicated mother and artist who leads a "lonely" and "solitary" life. While there's shame in how she was treated by the media (and rightfully so) the public's embrace of the real Anderson includes rooting for her to find happiness, which might come in the form of a romance. While there's shame in how she was treated by the media (and rightfully so) the public's embrace of the real Anderson includes rooting for her to find happiness, which might come in the form of a romance. Advertisement And while we all know that romantic relationships aren't the be-all and end-all of life, it's touching to see people find love in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond. Prior to Neeson and Anderson, the internet rallied behind actors Meryl Streep, 75, and Martin Short, 76, who began a relationship while filming the TV show Only Murders In the Building. Streep had separated from her husband of 45 years, Don Gummer, while Short's wife of more than 30 years, Nancy Dolman, died from cancer in 2010. Meryl Streep and Martin Short have become one of the internet's favourite couples. (Photo by JC Olivera/WireImage) While the internet can be an ugly place, the support for Streep and Short, as well as Neeson and Anderson, is wholesome. If we were to speculate why, it could be that aside from being beloved celebrities, these couples are examples of people finding love later in life and shining a spotlight on a demographic of people often excluded from traditional dating narratives. Many people are led to believe that women over 40 or post-menopause have somehow lost their appeal and are no longer desirable. It's not uncommon for men, particularly male celebrities, in their 50s, 60s or 70s to suddenly appear on a red carpet with a woman in her 20s or 30s on their arm. But having Streep and Short, Neeson and Anderson as examples of age-appropriate couples helps shift the discourse around what sex and romance can look like for people in their later years — even if its done unintentionally. They represent hope that no matter what twists, turns and heartbreaks you may suffer, good things can come to good people at any age.
