CM Dhami targets Rs 100 crore turnover for 'House of Himalayas' by 2030

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami (Image: ANI) DEHRADUN: Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has set a target of making the turnover of the state's umbrella brand 'House of Himalayas' Rs 100 crore by the year 2030 and has given instructions to ensure marketing of its products through Unity Mall as well. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday reviewed in detail the progress of the game-changing schemes, including the chief minister udyamshala yojana, growth centre yojana, house of himalayas, and centre of excellence yojana, which are operated under the rural development department at the secretariat. While giving instructions to make special efforts to promote rural entrepreneurship, the chief minister said that along with increasing the resources of livelihood in rural areas, it is necessary to give every possible encouragement to people who are returning to rural areas. He said that for better implementation of the schemes, the 'doorstep delivery system' should be strengthened. The chief minister stated that to create a market for the state's products at the national and international levels, a concrete marketing strategy for the umbrella brand 'house of himalayas' should be developed. Special attention should also be paid to the quality of its products. The chief minister stated that concerted efforts should be made to enhance the products of Growth Centres by adopting a business approach, thereby increasing the livelihoods of local people. Work should also be done to connect growth centres with skill development. The chief minister also directed to make appropriate arrangements to ensure training, financial assistance, and access to the market, along with providing necessary skills, resources, and support under the centre of excellence scheme, to promote women's entrepreneurship in rural areas. In the meeting, secretary rural development Radhika Jha gave a presentation on the Game Changer schemes of the rural development department. She informed that so far, one lakh sixty-five thousand women have been made Lakhpati Didi in the state. The target is to make one lakh more Lakhpati Didi in the next three years. Under the chief minister udyamshala scheme, assistance will be provided to fifteen thousand rural enterprises in three years. Work is being done in a phased manner to add more than 150 products of the state under the house of himalayas.

New Delhi [India], July 9 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday offered prayers at the historic Marghat Hanuman Temple located in Kashmere Gate on the auspicious day of Lord Hanuman, and prayed for the well-being of the nation, the state and its citizens. During his visit, the Chief Minister sought blessings from Lord Hanuman and expressed his devotion, stating that he had prayed for prosperity, happiness, and the removal of obstacles facing the country and Uttarakhand. While speaking to ANI, CM Dhami said, 'Today is the day of Lord Hanuman. We have visited him and taken his blessings... I have prayed for everyone's happiness and progress. May our country and state, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, become a global leader and a developed India, and may all obstacles be removed. I have taken blessings and prayed for everyone's well-being.' Earlier on Tuesday, CM Dhami also inaugurated the 'House of Himalayas' outlet at the Uttarakhand Niwas Complex in New Delhi. The initiative aims to give global recognition to the natural and handmade products of Uttarakhand's mountainous regions. This outlet will become a powerful medium to present the traditional heritage and organic products of Uttarakhand in an organised form in the national capital. Through this, not only will the rich folk culture of the state be brought to the country, but local products will also get new markets. The Chief Minister stated that this initiative is the result of the vision of the state government, which aims to garner global recognition for the natural and handmade goods produced in the mountainous regions. 'This step will strengthen the rural economy and also provide new opportunities to local artisans and craftsmen,' the CM said. In line with efforts to support the Chardham Yatra and local tourism, the state government has also set up attractive floor-standing units and retail carts at more than 13 key locations. These include Naini Saini Airport, Pantnagar Airport, Dehradun Helipad, GMVN Shri Kedarnath, Badrinath, Harshil, Guptkashi, Kaudiyala, Mussoorie, Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh), Snow Crest (Badrinath), ATI (Nainital), and Centria Mall. These outlets aim to promote the sale of local products at prominent pilgrimage and tourist destinations. (ANI)

Secretary Rural Development Radhika Jha said that the 'House of Himalayas' brand has created a special identity based on its quality in a short time. To promote the cultural and traditional identity of Uttarakhand and connect high-end tourists with local products, strategic partnerships have been made with reputed hotels like Taj (Rishikesh, Ramnagar), Hyatt Centric, Hyatt Regency (Dehradun), Marriott (Ramnagar), Westin (Narendranagar) and JP Group (Mussoorie). Under this initiative, retail carts of 'House of Himalayas' have been set up in various major hotels of the state, which are providing direct availability of special handmade and organic products of Uttarakhand to the tourists. This step is not only encouraging local producers and artisans towards economic empowerment, but is also an important initiative towards sustainable tourism and self-reliant Uttarakhand. The concept of the 'House of Himalayas' brand was first presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Global Investors Summit 2023. Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], May 18 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday presented the products of 'House of Himalayas' to Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda, highlighting the significant contributions made by the women of the state and local communities in the field of self-employment. The Uttarakhand Chief Minister stated that the 'House of Himalayas' is a collection of pure and quality local products of Devbhoomi, the tireless hard work of women's power. 'By presenting products of House of Himalayas to the Honorable National President and Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Honorable Shri @JPNadda ji, he was informed about the unprecedented work being done by our women power and local people in the field of self-employment,' CM Dhami wrote on social media platform X. Earlier in the day, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda on his arrival at the Jolly Grant airport in Dehradun. Sharing the update on social media platform X, the Chief Minister wrote, 'Welcomed and greeted the Honourable National President of BJP and Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Honorable @JPNaddaji at Jolly Grant Airport on his arrival to Uttarakhand, a symbol of valour and courage, imbued with religion, spirituality and natural beauty.' Meanwhile, on May 17, CM Dhami launched the 'e-Rupi' system, a technology-based initiative aimed at modernising agricultural support in the state. During the launch, the Chief Minister also introduced four ambitious agricultural policies (Kiwi Policy, Dragon Fruit, Apple Post-Harvest Harvesting Scheme and Millet Mission) to give a new direction to the agricultural system of the state. He said that the government will soon prepare a Flower and Honey Policy in the state. Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said that the e-Rupi system is a new initiative for the food producers of the state. The e-Rupi system will become a new medium of transparent, fast and middleman-free digital payment for farmers. Under this system, the subsidy amount received by the farmers in the pilot projects will be sent directly to their mobile through e-voucher (SMS or QR code), which they will be able to use to buy fertilisers, seeds, medicines, etc. from authorised centres or vendors. For the successful implementation of the e-Rupi system, the Chief Minister directed the officials to organise training programmes in every village and make the farmers aware so that they can properly take advantage of this technology. The objective of all these initiatives is to strengthen agriculture and employment in the hilly and plain areas of the state so that problems like migration can also be effectively controlled. These schemes will prove to be a milestone in making Uttarakhand a self-reliant, strong and leading agricultural state. 'All these schemes will promote agricultural diversity of the state and will become the basis for increasing the income of farmers,' CM Dhami said on the launch of four agricultural schemes. (ANI)

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan congratulated the state government on the initiative and said that the opening of 'House of Himalayas' stores at various airports would give a major boost to this umbrella brand, showcasing Uttarakhand's local produce. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said the opening of the store would offer a new platform for Uttarakhand's products, reflecting the dedication and craftsmanship of the state's farmers, artisans, women, and small entrepreneurs.
