This comes as it was revealed that a dirty joke about the actress and judge was cut from an America's Got Talent episode. Howie Mandel - Out of all the panelists, Howie Mandel is the longest-tenured judge on America's Got Talent. Howie joined the hit reality series during the show's 5th season, replacing David Hasselhoff. 'During the audition, Howie said that Sofia should get on the stage and 'be next.' He was apparently implying it'd be funny to have Sofia on stage topless like the contestants were. 'When he said that, those in close proximity who overheard the comment gasped, with some even saying it was 'gross,'' the insider claimed. One notable one was from 49-year-old Charity Lockhart, who failed at first try, but, by the grace of Simon Cowell, became Mel B's Golden Buzzer. 'I absolutely love to sing, I love music. But I also love my children,' the mother of two said. She joked, 'I have two children. They're little. One is 27 and the other one is 21.' Before she sang, Charity related a heart-touching story of early struggles when she and her two children were living in a car after a divorce. 'All I had was my voice. So I went to clubs and bars and I asked live bands if I could sing with them,' she related. 'They would give me a little money at the end of the night, so I entered vocal competitions. Not this big. It was a local competition, and we won a monetary award. And that gave us our first apartment.' 🎬 🎬 Now, Charity is at AGT hoping to win an even bigger prize. 'You have definitely earned your place here,' Simon told her. 'After everything you've gone through, what would be the dream now?' 'I want to keep singing and collect a Grammy along the way,' she boldly said. Mel B turned to Howie Mandel and said, 'Me, too.' Simon continued, 'Charity, what I've learned over the years is, if you've got talent, I believe anything is possible now. Seriously, I do. We are all honestly rooting for you right now.' After not making it to the finale on America's Got Talent in 2019, the Messoudi Brothers went home and developed a new danger act, so they could return to the AGT stage just in time for the show's landmark 20th season with its new composite of judges: Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Mel B and Sofia Vergara. Their initial Messoudi Brothers act was a balancing act, not knives, and this time around only two of the three brothers competed -- Karim and Soffien, while brother Yassin remained at home. 'There are still three of us,' Soffien explained, 'We left our brother at home. He decided to sit this one out because he has two children at home and he does some time off every now and then. We still work together but we are trying something new that's quite a lot more dangerous than what we did last time.' 🎬 🎬 The new act consisted of juggling knives that the brothers threw at each other but also stripping down to their skivvies while juggling and then getting dressed again. 'It was breathtaking,' Simon said. 'That may have been the only time I liked a juggling act. I'm being serious. It felt different and we always say, this show relies on moments and that's what I call a moment. Big time.' 'It's incredibly dangerous,' Howie said. 'I ripped a hole in my jacket,' Karim told him. 'That's why I couldn't get my arm back in.' Related: 'This act was spectacular, no?' Sofia said. 'And to see how hard it was because I felt you had a little bit of trouble trying. That made it even better. We realized how hard it is.' "Well, can I just say, having seen you before, I didn't think you'd be able to top it,' Mel B said. She then jumped up and said, 'I do want to say one thing to you,' when she was interrupted by Sofia shouting, "No!" But Mel B went on, 'I think you are perfect,' and she hit the Golden Buzzer, sending the Messoudi Brothers directly to the Live Shows. Last week it was the Osaka Philharmonic, this week it's Loco Pop Familia as the wacky acts from Japan continue to bless the America's Got Talent stage for its landmark 20th season. It was hello, kitty with lots of tail wags and paw poses when the 13-member crew from Tokyo took to the stage with a synchronized dance routine to Christell's 'Dubidubidu.' Dressed in black-and-white cat costumes with their faces made up with kitty whiskers and noses to continue the feline theme, the performance was the cat's meow. 🎬 🎬 Related: The video doesn't give any backstory on the group, nor does it contain the judges' comments, but we did see Howie Mandel smiling, Sofia Vergara getting her boogie on and Simon Cowell saying, 'This is good,' so it looks like they may have gotten at least three yeses to make it through to the Live Shows. Young Singer Wins Over ‘AGT' Judges With Ed Sheeran Cover
Chase Varnes had a rough start on Tuesday night's episode of America's Got Talent, but the 13-year-old singer from Vancouver Island ended up delivering one of the most memorable performances of the season so far — thanks to a little help from Ed Sheeran. Varnes began his audition with an original song on acoustic guitar, but was quickly interrupted by judge Simon Cowell. 'I hate to do this,' Cowell said. 'I didn't love the song; however, I like you. Have you got another song?' 'You know, you remind me of a young Justin Bieber,' said Howie Mandel, referencing Varnes' Canadian roots and early busking background. The compliment made the teen visibly light up on stage. Sofía Vergara also applauded the performance, saying, 'I know it's nerve-racking to be on this stage, but I thought it was better the second song. Simon always knows how to stop it and make it better. I think the girls are gonna go crazy for you.' Mel B, however, had a more measured response. 'You were great. You were a diamond in the rough with so much potential,' she said. 'But I can see your nervousness. You're not quite there yet for me.' While Mel B gave him a 'no,' both Mandel and Vergara offered their yeses. That left Cowell to cast the deciding vote. 'Sometimes we have on people your age, and I'm like, 'Okay, I'll be sort of nicer because you're young,'' Cowell said. 'You, I actually do believe, that you have something… You've got everything going for you. The audience loved you, which is why you're gonna get three yeses.'
