More info Rylan Clark has humorously remarked "it doesn't work" while opening up about his quest for romance and an important revelation he's had concerning relationships. The 36-year-old presenter, known for his BBC Radio 2 spot, has recently started on the search for his perfect match following his break up with former husband Dan Neal. Rylan and Dan, a Big Brother celebrity, tied the knot in 2015, but their marriage came to an end in 2021 after Rylan admitted to being unfaithful earlier on in their relationship. Rylan had hoped Dan would "understand", but instead, he was met with the "exact opposite" reaction, resulting in a personal crisis that saw Rylan stepping back from his broadcasting work for four months. Now, moving forward three years after the split, Rylan has unveiled a new podcast called How to be in Love, alongside exploring the dating scene again. When chatting with ex-adult entertainer Rebecca More on the podcast, he realised something significant about finding love. He shared: "I've really got to be comfortable with myself and I've really got to love myself before I let anyone else love me." (Image: @rylan/Instagram) Rebecca, a mother of two, also uncovered her own insights about love, admitting: "I'm still on my journey as well. When I decided I want to look for love, I was like, 'Right, I'm looking for it, I'm going to treat it like a business'." But Rylan quickly interrupted with a candid: "It doesn't work. It doesn't work." leading Rebecca to impart some wisdom: "Let it go, it's not down to you, it's going to show up when you least expect it." To this, Rylan uttered with frustration: "I f***ing hate it when people say that." Rylan recently bagged a BAFTA for his travel series with Robert Rinder. 'Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour' saw the duo sharing deeply personal experiences about how they coped with their individual divorces - with Rob's separation occurring in 2018. (Image: BBC) The ex-Big Brother presenter found the project to be cathartic, revealing he "wasn't fully over" his own split. This revelation fuelled speculation about a possible romance brewing between them, but Rylan has put such rumours to rest by affirming that they are simply "just friends". Following the BAFTA triumph, Rylan opened up: "For me, the show, it happened at a really weird time for me like I still wasn't fully over sort of the breakdown of my marriage and was flung with the judge. It was the best therapy I needed, put it that way." (Image: Rob Rinder X/Twitter) He reflected further on the experience: "I think the journey, and I hate that word in telly but it's so true, when you watch our series, that journey from when we meet to sort of how raw, especially I was at that time." Rylan's journey to stardom kicked off with his memorable stint on the X Factor in 2012, where he reached the live shows. Shortly after his exit, he joined the Celebrity Big Brother house and emerged victorious. Having carved out a niche on popular programmes like This Morning and Gogglebox, Rylan bolstered his TV presence with a gig on BBC Radio 2 in 2018, stepping up as a full-time host the next year.
