The comprehensive AI UBB solution comprises four innovative sub-solutions designed to create next-generation network infrastructure: AI FAN (Fixed Access Network) transforms home broadband by turning existing home gateways into unified AI portals, enabling seamless user interaction through voice, video, and gesture controls. The solution delivers industry-leading 50G PON technology, allowing carriers to provide ubiquitous 10 gigabit access – a significant upgrade from current 1 Gbit/s and 10G PON standards. Conventional optical line terminals (OLTs) are upgraded to intelligent devices with edge computing capabilities, supporting device-edge-cloud compute synergy. AI OTN (Optical Transport Network) addresses the critical need for low-latency transmission in AI applications, where one-millisecond compute access has become fundamental for urban AI computing networks. The solution provides higher-quality transmission through native intelligence in network devices and optical-electrical synergy, enabling sub-wavelength-level optical switching and ultra-low latency data center access. An embedded AI digital twin simulation model automates and coordinates optical and electrical scheduling for more efficient service rollout. AI WAN (Wide Area Network) leverages AI models to precisely identify various types of AI services, including encrypted video flows and elephant flows, offering differentiated service assurance that traditional networks cannot provide. Samsung is going to unveil its new Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 foldable smartphones next month, alongside a possible Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Availability for these phones will start shortly after, though the tri-foldable — possibly named Galaxy G Fold — will be available for purchase a little later in the year. Samsung will be holding a Galaxy Unpacked event in New York City on July 9, where these phones will be shown off. The Flip 7 FE, though not directly named in the leak, will most likely also become available in August after being announced in July. Samsung has promised its most advanced foldable yet, and from leaks we can see that the Fold 7 makes the Fold 6 look ancient. Samsung's tri-fold will directly challenge the Huawei Mate XT. | Video credit — Huawei The tri-fold, which will see a very limited release in a select few markets, will also be unveiled in July, alongside the Flip 7 and Fold 7 . However, though there isn't a confirmed date just yet, the report estimates that this phone will become available in tracks with Samsung's plans to launch it this year shortly after its other foldables, before moving on to a wider launch around the globe if it sells well. The G Fold will only see around 200,000 units manufactured for now, as Samsung has very subdued sales expectations due to the cost. According to the multiple reports we've seen till now, the Fold 7 is shaping up to be a massive leap over its predecessor. The only aspect I can complain about is the battery, which is expected to be the same 4,400 mAh as the Fold 6. It will also only charge at 25W when wired, another somewhat disappointing remnant that desperately needs an upgrade. However, seeing rival offerings like the Oppo Find N5 and the Honor Magic V5, I think it's about time Samsung caught up. Coupled with the long-term software support ( seven years ) and people's preference for One UI, Samsung could be looking at a winner here. The Fold 7 may even reverse the foldable industry's decline, though that may just be wishful thinking. If you were looking for the most advanced foldable on the market, you'd probably still do well with the aforementioned Find N5 and Magic V5. China has confirmed details of a trade deal with the United States, saying Washington would lift 'restrictive measures' while Beijing will 'review and approve' items under export controls. On Thursday, US President Donald Trump announced that the US and China had signed a trade agreement and that he expects to reach a deal with India soon. 'We just signed with China the other day,' Trump said. Rare earth minerals The announcement by the US and China follows initial talks in Geneva in early May, which led both sides to postpone massive tariff hikes that threatened to derail much of the trade between the two countries. A top priority for Washington in talks with Beijing had been ensuring the supply of the rare earth minerals for products including tech products, electric vehicles, hard drives and national defence equipment. Beijing confirmed on Friday that an agreement had been reached. 'It is hoped that the United States and China will meet each other halfway,' a spokesperson for the commerce deoartment said in a statement. Huawei ban There was no mention if there would be a lifting of the US ban on Huawei products. When the Trump administration blacklisted Huawei Technologies in 2019 over spying concerns, the move almost wiped out the Chinese company's global smartphone business. Yet it bounced back with the support of China's government and is now at the center of national efforts to achieve technological independence from the West. The remarkable comeback raises questions about whether US efforts to contain China's geopolitical ascent have been effective or adequate and which of the two superpowers will come to dominate in areas such as semiconductor design and artificial intelligence, according to Bloomberg. Some have equally wondered about whether the United States is truly concerned about raising any national security concerns against Huawei, or about safeguarding its dominance of the global technology ecosystem.
