Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, Fold 7, and tri-fold availability leaked
Samsung is going to unveil its new Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 foldable smartphones next month, alongside a possible Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Availability for these phones will start shortly after, though the tri-foldable — possibly named Galaxy G Fold — will be available for purchase a little later in the year.

According to a report ( translated source ), the Flip 7 and Fold 7 will become available to the general public in August, approximately one month after their announcement. Samsung will be holding a Galaxy Unpacked event in New York City on July 9, where these phones will be shown off.
The Flip 7 FE, though not directly named in the leak, will most likely also become available in August after being announced in July. Samsung has promised its most advanced foldable yet, and from leaks we can see that the Fold 7 makes the Fold 6 look ancient.

The tri-fold, which will see a very limited release in a select few markets, will also be unveiled in July, alongside the Flip 7 and Fold 7 . However, though there isn't a confirmed date just yet, the report estimates that this phone will become available in October.That tracks with Samsung's plans to launch it this year shortly after its other foldables, before moving on to a wider launch around the globe if it sells well. The G Fold will only see around 200,000 units manufactured for now, as Samsung has very subdued sales expectations due to the cost.
According to the multiple reports we've seen till now, the Fold 7 is shaping up to be a massive leap over its predecessor. The only aspect I can complain about is the battery, which is expected to be the same 4,400 mAh as the Fold 6. It will also only charge at 25W when wired, another somewhat disappointing remnant that desperately needs an upgrade.
However, seeing rival offerings like the Oppo Find N5 and the Honor Magic V5, I think it's about time Samsung caught up. Coupled with the long-term software support ( seven years ) and people's preference for One UI, Samsung could be looking at a winner here. The Fold 7 may even reverse the foldable industry's decline, though that may just be wishful thinking. If you were looking for the most advanced foldable on the market, you'd probably still do well with the aforementioned Find N5 and Magic V5. Samsung looks at its past to test future feature for Galaxy Z Flip
Samsung has recently filed for a patent on a display interface on the edge of a phone that looks like a future Galaxy Z Flip model. The application for the patent was submitted to the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). The patent was spotted by 91mobiles and shows a "battery level graphical user interface" on a foldable clamshell flip-style phone. There is a slight curve to the top frame of the flip phone and the interface will remind you of Samsung's curved display phones of the past. The Galaxy Note Edge was launched in 2014 with a curved edge on one side. The illustration included in the patent shows what appears to be an indicator revealing how much battery life remains on the phone. To make it easier for the user to check out the status of the phone's battery, a line made up of a solid color representing the battery percentage remaining on the phone runs up the curved display. At the bottom is the numerical equivalent of the battery percentage remaining. For example, with 90% battery life remaining the illustration in the patent shows a blue line running up the curved display taking up 90% of the complete line. The remaining 10% is in black indicating the percentage of the battery that has been used. The black color will always represent the percentage of the battery consumed while the other color gives you a quick idea about the status of the battery. With 90% battery life remaining, that line is blue indicating that your clamshell flipper has plenty of battery life left. At 50%, the line is in gold, and with 10% battery life remaining that line is in red which is supposed to be like a "red alert" warning. The patent illustration also shows that the bottom of the phone features a USB-C port for charging and data transfers and there are dual speaker grilles. The patent also shows the edge-to-edge cover display and the dual cameras. The device shown in the patent application certainly resembles a Galaxy Z Flip model. Just because Samsung filed this patent application it doesn't mean that we will definitely see a curved display clamshell foldable with a "battery level graphical user interface." If Samsung does decide to go ahead and add this feature to the Galaxy Z Flip, it wouldn't be on this year's model and would probably debut in 2026 at the earliest. EchoStar pays $500M to stay out of bankruptcy and to buy time for FCC talks
An 8-K filing made by EchoStar indicates that the parent company of the nation's fourth largest wireless carrier, Boost Mobile, and Dish Network, plans on making a debt-interest payment on Friday of more than $500 million. The payment is actually due on Monday and by paying the $500 million, EchoStar gets to delay filing for bankruptcy although it will not make a second payment due July 1st. EchoStar hopes that by making one of the two payments due in the coming week, it has bought itself some time to negotiate with the FCC. The regulatory agency's Chairman, Brendan Carr, has previously threatened to take away some of EchoStar's spectrum licenses. The second interest payment due July 1st, which EchoStar won't pay, comes to $114 million and by refusing to make the payment, a 30-day grace period is triggered. While EchoStar has enough cash on hand to make both interest payments on time, the company is holding off on one of them in order to gain some leverage in negotiations with the FCC. Carr wants EchoStar to give up licenses on spectrum that he says the company isn't using. The FCC Chairman said, "It's my view that right now, we are really working hard to make sure this valuable public resource of spectrum is put to use. No new news to break, but I think the status quo needs to change. There's lots of different paths forward there and all options are still on the table at the FCC." -FCC Chairman Brendan Carr Former FCC chief of staff Blair Levin, who now works as a policy analyst at New Street Research, says that Carr wants to "force a reallocation of spectrum from EchoStar to others." What Levin is talking about is the 2 GHz spectrum licensed by EchoStar which FCC Chairman Carr asked EchoStar about in a letter. Carr wants to know exactly how often EchoStar is using the 2 GHz band. The reason why Carr is so interested in EchoStar's 2 GHz usage is because Elon Musk's SpaceX has its eyes on the 2 GHz spectrum because it is superior for satellite to cellphone communications than the airwaves that SpaceX uses now. The FCC chairman had no comment about a meeting he supposedly attended at the White House earlier this month with President Donald Trump and EchoStar Chairman Charlie Ergen.
