Over 13K Chenchu families to get Indiramma houses: Ponguleti
Hyderabad: In line with the ideas of Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the government will be providing Indiramma Houses to the most backward section of the society, Chenchus, who have not seen their own houses for decades and there will be additional 9,000 houses for the tribal constituencies. In a statement released on Sunday, the Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that 13,266 Indiramma houses were being sanctioned to 13,266 Chenchu families under the saturation method in 21 constituencies under the four Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) of Utnoor, Bhadrachalam, Munnanur and Eturu Nagaram. The Governor, on many occasions had asked the State government to construct permanent houses in tribal areas, and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had also made many suggestions on the development of tribal areas, especially the construction of their residential houses. Based on the suggestion of the Governor and the Chief Minister, Indiramma houses are being sanctioned to the Chenchus in tribal areas, said Srinivasa Reddy. The Minister said that as part of the first phase, on Monday, he would personally hand over the sanction papers of Indiramma houses to the Chenchus along with local MLA Dr Vamsi Krishna in Munnanur, Achampet constituency. The Chenchus are a tribe that lives in the forests. They make a living by hunting in the forests and collecting and selling forest produce. It is unimaginable that they have a permanent home other than small huts, and they do not live in those forest areas. That is why the government has decided to allocate Indiramma houses in the places where they live. No government has even thought about this in decades, the minister said. In Utnoor ITDA limits (10,836 houses), Mancherial 157, Nirmal 153, Asifabad 3371, Boath 163, Khanapur 2257, Sirpur 227, Adilabad 2848, Bellampalli 223, Bhadrachalam ITDA limits Aswaraopet 274, Munnanur Chenchu Special Project (2156) Achampet 785, Mahabubnagar 245, Parigi 63, Tandoor 174, Kollapur 105, Kalwakurthy 120, Vikarabad 63, Devarakadra 64, Nagarjunasagar 17, a total of 13,266 houses. It was announced that the government was sanctioning 3,500 Indiramma houses to each constituency in the state this year, but now it has been decided that an additional 8,750 houses have been sanctioned to the tribal constituencies within the ITDA area. The ITDA Project Officer has been appointed as the nodal officer to supervise the process of sanctioning Indiramma houses in tribal areas.

A big relief to employees, AP govt relaxed ban on transfers
VIJAYWADA: Giving much awaited relief to the employees, the state govt has relaxed the ban on transfers. The relaxation will be in force for about a fortnight from May 16-June 2. Employees who have completed a period of continuous stay of five years at a station as on May 31shall invariably be transferred. Employees, other than those who completed five years of stay at a station, shall also be eligible for transfer on personal request. All such employees shall exercise preference for stations. Employees who will be retiring from service on attaining the age of superannuation, on or before May 31 2026, will not normally be transferred except on request or administrative grounds. Principal finance secretary Peeyush Kumar said that the number of years of service in all cadres/posts at a station shall be reckoned as the period of stay at a station, where station means a place (City, town, village) of actual working and not the office or the institution for the purpose of transfers. He, however, said that preference will be given to visually challenged employees, employees who have mentally challenged children and seeking a transfer to a station where relevant medical facilities are available. Employees who worked for more than two years in tribal areas, employees with disabilities of 40% or more as certified by a competent authority as per the norms of 'persons with disabilities,' will also be given preference over others. Employees seeking transfer on medical grounds (pertaining to self or spouse or dependent children), on account of chronic diseases such as cancer, open heart operations, neurosurgery, kidney transplantation to stations where such facilities are available, female employees who are widows appointed on compassionate grounds, will also be considered on priority. The visually challenged employees are exempted from transfers, except when they make a specific request for transfer. As far as possible, these categories of employees may be posted at a place of their choice subject to availability of a clear vacancy. In the case where both husband and wife are govt employees, efforts shall be made to post both of them at one station or in the stations that are nearer to each other. All transfers affected under these guidelines, including the employees who exercised the option of preferred stations, shall be treated as request transfers for the purpose of sanction of TTA and other transfer benefits. All vacancies in the notified agency areas shall be filled first before filling posts in the non-ITDA areas. Besides ITDA areas, areas which are interior and backward with large number of vacancies shall be given preference while filling up of vacancies on transfers. HoDs and District Collectors shall ensure the same. The employees shall preferably be below 50 years of age should be shifted to ITDAs or the employees who have not worked earlier in the ITDA areas so far shall be considered for transfers considering the length of their service in plain areas in the descending order of preference. Departments shall ensure that officials who are transferred out from ITDAs are not relieved without a substitute being posted/joining in their place. Any employee who does not report to the place of posting in the ITDA areas shall be liable for disciplinary action as per rules in vogue.

Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that the State government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, aims to fulfil the dream of owning a house for the Chenchus, one of the primitive tribal groups (PTG) that have lived without permanent homes for generations. In a statement here on Tuesday, he said nearly 10,000 Chenchu families have been identified through a saturation method within the limits of four Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) — Mannanur, Eturnagaram, Bhadrachaam and Utnur — in the State, and they will be granted Indiramma houses. A total of 9,395 houses will be sanctioned soon. The Minister stated that the government has decided to allocate Indiramma houses in the localities where the Chenchus live, as they have been living in small huts in forest areas. Additionally, 500 to 700 additional houses will be allocated to tribal constituencies within the ITDA limits, beyond the 3,500 houses being sanctioned to each constituency in the State. Mr. Srinivas Reddy underscored that the selection process for Indiramma house beneficiaries has been completed across the State, with 20% of the houses kept under buffer for each Assembly constituency. He also highlighted the government's focus on building apartments (G+3) in urban areas, particularly within the GHMC limits, to accommodate the poor who prefer to stay in their current locations.

Minister promises to develop infrastructure in tribal villages
Vijayawada: Minister for Tribal Welfare, WGC' Women and Child Welfare Gummidi Sandhyarani stated that efforts are being made to develop education, healthcare, drinking water, and roads in all tribal villages across the State. The minister conducted a review meeting on Friday with officials from nine Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) and other line departments at the Tribal Welfare Department office here. Speaking at a press conference organised on the occasion, the Minister said that steps are being taken to ensure basic infrastructure in all schools by June when schools reopen. With special initiative from Minister Nara Lokesh, Rs 156 crore has been sanctioned, and work has already begun. 'Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed the provision of drinking water to people in over 4,000 tribal villages, and drinking water has already been provided to the majority of these villages,' she said. The minister noted that ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) programmes are being integrated with activities in tribal areas. Steps have been taken to provide nutritious food to children in tribal regions. Although doctors have been appointed in tribal areas, they often do not reside there. To address this, appointments will be made to ensure doctors stay in these areas, providing better healthcare to tribals. The minister stated that skill development courses will be offered to tribal youth to create employment opportunities. Birth waiting halls have been set up for pregnant women, and post-delivery, mothers and newborns are safely transported home via the Mother-Child Express vehicle. Over 2,000 jobs are available for tribals in the Mega DSC, which will improve the lives of many tribal youth. The state has nine ITDAs, but Vijayawada and Nellore ITDAs cannot officially represent tribal areas due to the absence of tribal populations.
