Zlatan Ibrahimovic texts message of support to Sweden star Smilla Holmberg after crucial penalty miss in defeat to England at Euro 2025

England edged Sweden in shootout Holmberg blazed shot over the bar Ibrahimovic reaches out to compatriot Follow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱 WHAT HAPPENED? At the end of a ridiculous penalty shootout which saw nine shots either saved or missed in total, Holmberg stepped up but could only lift her effort clear of the bar, helping England reach the semi-finals where they will face Italy. THE BIGGER PICTURE Holmberg was pictured in tears after the shootout and was consoled by her Sweden team-mates, but she has also been contacted by Ibrahimovic, according to her father. Ibrahimovic is widely regarded as the greatest Swedish footballer of all time but he also suffered spot-kick heartache in 2004, when his miss against the Netherlands resulted in defeat with a squad containing the likes of Freddie Ljungberg and Henrik Larsson. WHAT WAS SAID Holmberg's father, Ola Persson, told Swedish radio: "It was a sad daughter I held in my arms about an hour after the game. She is strong and she has received a lot of support from both the team, supporters, friends and relatives. She even got a text message from Zlatan here this morning." DID YOU KNOW? Holmberg was the youngest player in Peter Gerhardsson's squad and now has four international caps having made her debut against Italy back in May. She was in inspired form when Sweden thrashed Germany 4-1 during the group stage. WHAT NEXT? The semi-final lineup is in, with England taking on Italy on Tuesday evening before Spain meet Germany on Wednesday. The final then takes place next Sunday at St. Jakob Park.

5 things you missed from the EA FC 26 reveal trailer including new Evolutions hint and new Icons

There was a lot to digest from the EA FC 26 reveal trailer, so we've rounded up some cool things you might not have noticed. EA Sports has given players a first look at EA FC 26 with the EA FC 26 reveal trailer, but there are some interesting details you may have missed. ‌ The hype surrounding EA FC 26 is now starting to build, with EA Sports starting to reveal the first bits of information about the new game. After unveiling Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover star and confirming the EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition pre-order bonuses, EA has now given players a taste of how EA FC 26 looks, with lots of gameplay being delivered as part of the EA FC 26 reveal trailer. ‌ Here are five things you might have missed in the EA FC 26 reveal trailer. ‌ EA FC 26 trailer breakdown – things you may have missed The EA FC 26 reveal trailer told us a lot more about the new game than ever before, but we've dissected the trailer to try and find anything that you may have missed. New EA FC 26 Icons Yes, we all know that Ibrahimovic is coming to EA FC 26 as a new FUT Icon, but did you spot the others in the EA FC 26 trailer? Towards the end of the trailer, former United States striker Alex Morgan is seen, confirming her inclusion in EA FC 26 as a FUT Icon. ‌ But, as well as Ibrahimovic and Morgan, we may have seen another Icon teased. One minute and 35 seconds into the trailer, a goalkeeper makes a save, while the text 'New Icons' appears on screen. Based on EA FC 26 Icon leaks, we think that this goalkeeper could be former Bayern Munich and German player, Oliver Kahn. Skill Moves and Weak Foot indicator Quite a useful addition which wasn't highlighted in the trailer, but it seems we will now be able to see the skill moves and weak foot of each player during games in EA FC 26, both for our own players and our opponents. Only a small addition, but it appeared in all of the gameplay footage, and this can be extremely useful down the line when you are using new players and wanting to know what their skill moves and weak foot are during a game. ‌ New Camera Angle A large chunk of the EA FC 26 reveal trailer was shown from a new camera angle, and although it may not have looked like a new camera angle, it is. It seems EA is adding a new third-person camera angle in EA FC 26, which looks much better than the Pro camera angle currently available in EA FC 25. The camera angle seems to be slightly higher and further out than the Pro camera angle in EA FC 25, giving you a much bigger view of the pitch. The camera also seemed to move quite a bit in the trailer, and I think it looks great. ‌ Goalkeepers in Rush and goalkeeper Evolutions hint After a lot of demand from the community, EA has listened, with goalkeeper set to be a playable position in EA FC 26. This means that games can increase to five players on each team at a time, but maybe more importantly, it hints towards a big update fans have been crying out for in EA FC 25 – goalkeeper Evolutions. The one position which you can't evolve in Ultimate Team, being able to use goalkeepers in Rush means that we should now be able to complete Objectives with goalkeepers to earn upgrades. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but it sure is a big hint. Confetti celebration Lastly, it looks like last-minute celebrations are set to get a whole lot crazier in EA FC 26, with EA seemingly adding confetti into the mix. This could just be a visual addition for the trailer, but I think this will be coming in EA FC 26, so expect to see confetti cannons blasted if you find the top corner in the last minute to win the game. There will probably be confetti left on the pitch when you kick off again though, so make sure you save yourself from embarrassment and don't concede a last-second equaliser.

The EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover has revealed more than just the faces of EA FC 26 EA Sports has released its first concrete piece of information about EA FC 26, with the EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover revealed with a new Ultimate Team Icon. After updating all of its profile photos on social media with the EA FC 26 logo over the weekend, EA Sports has marked the start of the EA FC 26 era today, with the EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover being revealed. The newest instalment of the EA Sports FC series, EA FC 26 has been the hot topic for the EA Sports FC community over the last few weeks, and it appears that EA is finally switching its attention to its new game. ‌ The EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover reveal is not exactly new information, mind. Over the last few weeks, leaks have revealed pretty much all there is to know about the new game. Leakers revealed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would star on the cover, and this leak has been proven true. Leaks also claimed that the Swede will be returning to the game as an Ultimate Team Icon. ‌ Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns in EA FC 26 The EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition has been unveiled by EA, and it features Ibrahimovic, lying on a bed in a bedroom. It's an interesting cover for sure, with the background featuring badges and kits from his career, including Paris Saint-Germain, Sweden, and Malmo. Alex Morgan also appears on the screen of the computer on the cover, which is all but confirming her return to EA FC 26 as an Icon, like Ibrahimovic. It was leaked last month that Morgan would be coming to EA FC 26 as an Icon. EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover star leaked as new FUT Icon set to feature

Another EA FC 26 detail has been leaked, leaving very little for EA Sports to exclusively reveal later this month. Just a few weeks after the EA FC 26 cover star was leaked, leakers have now revealed who will feature on the EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover. The EA FC 26 leaks aren't stopping, with more and more being revealed on social media about the newest EA Sports FC instalment before any official EA Sports announcements. From pre-order bonuses to new gameplay features, a bunch of EA FC 26 information is out there to be seen, and now, it seems we know who will feature on the EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover. ‌ Leakers revealed that EA FC 25 cover star Jude Bellingham will remain on the cover for EA FC 26, but as always, two versions of EA FC 26 are being released, the Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition, meaning we will get two different covers. For EA FC 25, a new Icon, Gianluigi Buffon, was included on the Ultimate Edition cover, and according to leaks, EA is going to do the same once again for EA FC 26. ‌ EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover star leaked Reliable leaker @Fut_Scoreboard has revealed in a Tweet who the new EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover star will be, with Swedish legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to feature on the front of the game. If you haven't been paying attention to EA FC 26 leaks, you may be a little confused. Well, leakers revealed last month all the new Icons coming to EA FC 26 Ultimate Team, and Ibrahimovic was one of them. Throughout his illustrious playing career, Ibrahimovic was never on the cover of any of EA's FIFA games, so if the leaks are true, this would be the Swede's debut on the front of an EA football game. This also may come as a slight shock to some, because not too long ago, Ibrahimovic was involved in a public disagreement with EA. Back in 2020, Ibrahimovic accused EA and FIFPro in a Tweet of using his name and face without permission. The truth about what happened, and the remarks made by Ibrahimovic, had more to do with FIFPro and their backing of agent reforms, with the Swede's agent at the time - the late Mino Raiola - against the reform proposals. But, it seems the dust has settled and Ibrahimovic is back on good terms with EA, especially if he's happy enough for his image to now be used not only in the game, but on the cover itself!

New EA FC 26 Icons leaked with incredible striker set for Ultimate Team return

The EA FC 26 leaks are continuing, with EA FC 26 FUT Icons now being leaked ahead of the game's official reveal It looks like we now know a handful of new players set to arrive in EA FC 26 Ultimate Team, with leakers revealing seven new EA FC 26 Icons that are expected to be added to the game. EA FC 26 isn't set to be released for nearly three more months, but with EA Sports still being in the thick of it with EA FC 25, we already seem to know lots of details about the latest EA Sports FC instalment. No, this isn't some fantastic multitasking by EA, but instead, leakers are revealing all about EA FC 26 before any official announcement. ‌ From the EA FC 26 release date to Ultimate Edition pre-order bonuses, leakers aren't leaving much to be found out when EA eventually lifts the lid on its new game, and now, it appears we may know a handful of new EA FC 26 Icons coming to the game, including one of the best strikers to ever play the game (football, not FC), Zlatan Ibrahimovic. ‌ New EA FC 26 Icons leaked Reliable leaker @FutSheriff has revealed in a Tweet that Swedish striker Ibrahimovic will be a new Icon in EA FC 26, with the former Milan, Inter, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United player currently included in the testing phases of EA FC 26. Ibrahimovic was always a fan-favourite player to use in Ultimate Team, especially his Flashback player item in FIFA 19. According to the leaker, Ibrahimovic is set to arrive as a 91-rated striker with the Power Shot PlayStyle Plus, but with these stats in the testing phase, there's every chance that they may change in the future. The leaker revealed Spanish midfield maestro Andreas Iniesta is set to come as a new Icon in EA FC 26, while fellow midfield genius Toni Kroos was also leaked. @FutSheriff revealed in another tweet that former Real Madrid and Brazil defender Marcelo will also be returning in EA FC 26 as an Icon, while another tweet has revealed that Italian legend Francesco Totti will be coming as an EA FC 26 Icon, which is another exciting addition. Along with these players, leaker @FUT25News_ has revealed that Brazilian legend Dunga and German legend Oliver Bierhoff will be new Icons in EA FC 26, with the duo being added to FC Online earlier this year, just like Gareth Bale was last year, ahead of his EA FC 25 reveal. Two new Icons, Diego Maradona and Franz Beckenbauer, were added to EA FC 25 Ultimate Team as Icons earlier this year, and this duo will remain in the game for EA FC 26. But, we may see some Icons removed from the game or turned into Heroes, with EA having done this a few times over the last few years. Ibrahimovic's return to Ultimate Team may come as a surprise to some, especially if you remember the disagreement between the Swede and EA back in 2020. In a Tweet, Ibrahimovic accused EA and FIFPro of using his name and face without permission. Bale also published a Tweet about the situation, but the Welshman is now back in EA FC 25, so it's not an issue that stuck. The truth about what happened, and the remarks made by Ibrahimovic and Bale, have more to do with FIFPro and their backing of agent reforms, with the players' respective agents at the time - the late Mino Raiola and Jonathan Barnett - against the reform proposals. These four players are not guaranteed to feature as Icons in EA FC 26, but it's looking more than likely that these players will be available once EA FC 26 is released later this year.
