Maalik Box Office Collection Day 2: Rajkummar Rao's film nears Rs 10 crore mark

After a modest opening day collection of approximately Rs 3.75 crore, trade tracker Sacnilk reported that the film showed slight growth on its second day. Maalik made a collection of Rs 5.25 crore on Day 2, taking the film's total in India to Rs 9 crore in two days. On Day 2, the Rajkummar Rao-starrer recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 18.84%. The film saw 6.40% occupancy during morning shows, which rose to 16.95% in the afternoon and 19.14% in the evening. Notably, the night shows registered a strong 32.85% occupancy. The film also faced tough competition from the film Metro In Dino, now in its second week, and Hollywood's blockbuster Jurassic World Rebirth. Indian Express' film critic Shubhra Gupta give Maalik one and a half stars and wrote in her review, 'Rajkummar Rao film is predictable to a fault. The actor goes all out doing the mobster thing, hefting machine guns and goons, killing and rampaging with impunity in the Illahabad (Allahabad) of the late 80s-90s.' Rajkummar Rao's Maalik hit theatres on July 11. The actor has stepped into the gangster genre with this film, directed by Pulkit. The movie also features Manushi Chhillar, Saurabh Shukla, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Swanand Kirkire, and Saurabh Sachdeva in prominent roles.

Metro In Dino Box Office Collection Day 2: Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur's film inches towards Rs 10 crore mark

Metro In Dino Box Office Collection Day 2: Anurag Basu's Metro In Dino, which received mixed reviews, had a poor start at the box office. However, strong word-of-mouth helped the film nearly double its opening day collection on Saturday. Starring Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, and Konkona Sen Sharma, the film saw approximately 71.43% growth in business. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Metro In Dino earned around Rs 6 crore on its second day at the box office, following an opening day collection of Rs 3.35 crore. This brought the film's total to ₹9.5 crore. On Saturday, Metro In Dino recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 32.20%. Morning shows saw 11.65% occupancy, which rose to 30.95% in the afternoon. A post shared by Sara Ali Khan (@saraalikhan95) Indian Express' film critic Shubhra Gupta gave Metro In Dino three stars and wrote in her review, 'Sara Ali Khan plays a Kareena Kapoor-coded character in Anurag Basu's annoying and exhilarating film. This really should be a series, because life is unruly and ungainly, spilling over the edges, annoying and exhilarating, in equal measure, and when Metro In Dino is at its best, it catches all those beats.' Metro In Dino is the spiritual sequel of Anurag Basu's 2007 hit Life In A Metro. The film also stars Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Saswata Chatterjee, Darshana Bainik, Kush Jotwani and Rohan Gurbaxani.
