Former Indianapolis Colts TE Jack Doyle shares initial impression of rookie Tyler Warren
Former Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle recently shared his thoughts on rookie tight end Tyler Warren. From 84 to 84, former #Colts TE Jack Doyle on rookie TE Tyler Warren:'He is just a all-around tight end. Obviously, I'm biased to the position, but the willingness to block, his body control, his balance, his RAC…I think it's gonna be a good thing for the Colts.' Former Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle recently shared his thoughts on rookie tight end Tyler Warren. Doyle sat down with Jeffrey Gorman on the latest episode of 'High Volume,' and the two discussed a variety of topics, including Doyle's initial impression of Warren. Doyle also spent time with JJ Stankevitz to break down Warren's 17-catch performance last season against USC. As GM Chris Ballard noted after the draft, this particular game told the Colts everything they needed to know about Warren during the pre-draft process. In that game, Warren caught 17-of-20 passes for 224 yards with one touchdown. He rushed the ball once in that game as well. 'He is just a stud," Doyle said of Warren. "I mean, an all-around tight end. Obviously, I'm biased to the tight end position, but the willingness to block, his body control, his balance, his run after catch, the dragging guys four, five yards. Getting 10 yards after a seven-yard catch that saves your team from getting another first down. It's huge and maybe something you don't notice when you're a casual fan just watching, but being able to not make your team convert more first downs, that's good. We want to get yards. Doyle continued: "And a tight end just helps a quarterback get in rhythm. It builds confidence. So, usually easier throws. Get him the ball early, make some rhythm throws, I think it's gonna be a good thing for the Colts.' Warren totaled over 100 receptions and over 1,200 receiving yards for Penn State in 2024. He will immediately provide the Colts' passing game with a needed boost and has already been a favorite target during offseason programs. Stephen Holder, who covers the Colts for ESPN, wrote recently that it was "practically impossible to watch an Indianapolis practice and not notice how often Warren touched the football." However, Warren's impact within the offense will go well beyond the passing game. As Doyle mentions, he's an "all-around tight end." Warren has the versatility to line up across the formation and is a capable run blocker. That do-it-all presence at tight end adds some unpredictability to an offense with that player able to fill so many roles and the flexibility it then provides Shane Steichen as a play caller.

Advertisement The first two aforementioned items are facts. The third one is a projection ... and. major storyline as the schedule for the summer has been released on the Baltimore Ravens' website. So here's the plan ... Rookies will arrive on the 15th of July, and returning players will show up a week, after, on the 22nd of July. Well, were going to be treated to another with the Indianapolis Colts on Aug. 5, while the one with Washington will be on the 21st of August. Isaiah Rodgers thanks his ex-team Philadelphia Eagles for being his backbone through troubled times
(Image via Getty: Isaiah Rodgers) Isaiah Rodgers expresses gratitude towards his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles. Why so? 'Everybody in the building knows that I wouldn't be here today without them.' The Indianapolis Colts gave up on him. But the Philadelphia Eagles? They gave him a chance to prove himself. They became his backbone. They asked him to better himself. And look where it got him? The 27-year-old current cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings was a minor contributor to the Super Bowl LIX win against the Kansas City Chiefs. He defended one pass in the 40-22 win! But what was so scandalous about his past? Let's find out. Indianapolis Colts released Isaiah Rodgers while the Philadelphia Eagles signed him and believed in his potential In June 2023, the Indianapolis Colts suspended their chosen cornerback, Isiah Rodgers. He was caught placing bets at the team facility. He violated the league's policy by getting involved in gambling. In August 2023, the Philadelphia Eagles signed him. But he was still under suspension. So he sat through the entire 2023 NFL season. On June 30, 2025, Rodgers talked about this heartbreaking chapter of his life with Ed Kracz of Sports Illustrated. 'It was hard. But things happen in this business. You never know. It was a smooth process, but at the end of the day, you have to do what's best for your family. Howie knows it's all love. Howie(Roseman), Big Dom(DiSandro), Jeffrey(Lurie), everybody in the building knows that I wouldn't be here today without them. Those are my guys. We're all still good. There's no bad blood.' Super Bowl LIX Champion Isaiah Rodgers said he made a mistake and did his time It was in April 2024 when the NFL revoked the suspension of Isiah Rodgers. He shared with NBC Sports Philadelphia in May 2024, 'Rules are rules, and they are there for a reason. So you break them, you get your consequences. I'd say, just being away from the locker room, that brotherhood feeling, and just understanding that I made a mistake and I did my time. Just being back around a great team and a great culture of guys and just finally getting that locker environment back into my heart feels real good. It brought me closer to my loved ones. It brought me closer to the game. It made me actually not take this game for granted and just understand the league doesn't need anybody. I can do whatever the team needs me. I can play defensive end and come off the edge. I'll do that as well. Whatever coach asks me to do, I'll lock into my playbook and study it.' Rodgers played so well and diligently that he contributed a little to the Super Bowl LIX win for the Eagles! Cornerback Isaiah Rodgers is still in touch with Philadelphia Eagles fans and Indianapolis Colts fans It has only been a few months since Isaiah Rodgers' contract expired with the Philadelphia Eagles. Although he was signed immediately by the Minnesota Vikings, his love for the Philadelphia Eagles fans is boundless. Rodgers shared with Kracz, 'I interact with the Philly fans as much as I can on social media. It's a team that revamped my career, bringing me back to life. So, I'll never look at a situation - That I'm a Minnesota Viking, and I'll never deal with you guys again. I still interact with Colts fans, Eagles fans, and Vikings fans now. I'll still be around as much as I can.' 2025 Indianapolis Colts roster preview: LB Zaire Franklin
Let's take a closer look at this Indianapolis Colts team as we go player-by-player through the roster. Up next is LB Zaire Franklin. With offseason programs now behind us, we will be getting a jump start on our training camp preview by going player-by-player through the Indianapolis Colts' 91-man roster. Going alphabetically, up next is linebacker Zaire Franklin. Zaire Franklin's profile 2024 Snap count totals 2024 PFF grades 2024 Season Review Franklin is coming off his most productive season to date. He totaled 173 tackles, which was the most in the NFL of any defender. He also set a career high with 15 quarterback pressures, four sacks, and two interceptions. The end result was Franklin making his first Pro Bowl, along with being named a second-team All-Pro. Like any player, Franklin has areas of his game that can improve. According to PFF's metrics, he had a missed tackle rate of 11.6% last season--which ranked 43rd among linebackers--and quarterbacks were efficient when targeting him in coverage, with a completion rate of 87% and a passer rating of 105.5. Looking ahead to the 2025 season I believe this new-look Colts defense under Lou Anarumo will really benefit Franklin. In this scheme, there is going to be a greater reliance on defensive backs. In turn, I anticipate that this will mean more opportunities for Franklin to play closer to the line of scrimmage, which is where he is at his best. The more aggressive scheme should result in more opportunities to get after the quarterback as well. I also really like the pairing of Jaylon Carlies with Franklin. Carlies, a former college safety, brings a needed coverage presence to the linebacker position. This element will pair well with Franklin's skill set, again allowing him more flexibility to do what he does best, operating near the line of scrimmage.

Indianapolis Colts again go QB in way-too-early 2026 NFL mock draft
In the latest way-too-early 2026 NFL mock draft from PFN, the Indianapolis Colts again take a quarterback in the first round. In the latest way-too-early 2026 NFL mock draft from Pro Football Network, the Indianapolis Colts again take a quarterback in the first round. Until we see how things unfold this season with either Daniel Jones or Anthony Richardson, this is going to continue to be the case in these mocks. Now, the obvious caveat here is that with the 2026 NFL draft being so far out, predicting what will actually happen is a nearly impossible task. Team needs will change while prospects will slide up and down big boards. So, instead, use these mocks as more of a guide to which players to watch as the upcoming college football season unfolds. PFSN analyst Joe DeLeone put together this mock with the Colts picking seventh overall, as determined by the Pro Football Network Mock Draft Simulator. And with that selection, the Colts took LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. "If the Indianapolis Colts are picking in the top 10, it's time to reset at quarterback," wrote DeLeone. "Anthony Richardson was very inexperienced coming out of Florida with immense potential. They can right the ship by drafting Garrett Nussmeier, who is the same age as Richardson. Nussmeier presents a quick trigger arm and impressive touch as a passer." The 2024 season was Nussmeier's first as a starter. He would complete 64% of his passes while throwing for 4,043 yards with 29 touchdowns to 12 interceptions, according to PFF. Among eligible quarterbacks, Nussmeier ranked 38th in completion rate, 35th in yards per attempt, and he was seventh in big-time throws.
