Gandhinagar: Chief minister Bhupendra Patel chaired a high-level meeting to review various programmes being organised as part of the International Cooperation Year, 2025. He also discussed preparations for various programmes organised during the visit of Union cooperation minister Amit Shah on July 5 and 6. Shah will be present in Anand on July 5 and 6, and apart from laying the foundation of the Tribhuvan Cooperative University, he will participate in other programmes related to the cooperative sector. Upcoming programmes under International Cooperation Year were finalised at the meeting, an official statement said. A cooperative dialogue will also be held in Ahmedabad, and cooperative leaders from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan will participate in this dialogue programme. On July 6, Shah is scheduled to inaugurate new projects of NDDB and Amul in Anand, the statement said. Cooperatives, local bodies collect 50k waste from religious sites in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: As part of the 'International Cooperation Year' observance, a special drive was jointly conducted by cooperative institutions and local self-govt bodies at religious sites , in which 50,000 kilogrammes of waste was collected. The drive was launched to coincide with the state's Foundation Day on May 1, an official statement a bid to raise awareness about cleanliness and the sanctity of religious sites among citizens, various cleanliness activities were organised at 25,000 religious sites in 252 talukas and 13,000 villages, highlighting the principle of 'cleanliness with cooperation'. Cleanliness drives were held at places of worship like temples, mosques, gurdwaras, and churches, the statement district registrars of cooperatives , cooperative institutions, district, taluka, and village-level cooperative leaders, stakeholders, as well as members and employees of the Gujarat State Milk Marketing Federation–Amul, Gujarat State Cooperative Bank, Gujarat State Cooperative Union, milk unions, milk societies, and primary agricultural credit societies participated in this mega campaign, the statement ensure the success of this programme, over 1.5 lakh villagers, including school teachers, principals, and members of local self-governing bodies such as sarpanches and deputy sarpanches, participated.
