Featured pricing is subject to change. The ball has finally dropped on 'Into the Millennium.' After announcing their Las Vegas Sphere residency way back in mid-February, Backstreet Boys put on the first three concerts of their 21-show run at the visually-spectacular venue this past weekend. On Friday, July 11, their inaugural night, Nick, AJ, Howie, Kevin and Brian performed 25 songs according to Set List FM. And, while the Sphere residency is named after the group's best-selling 1999 album they didn't play the iconic record in order. Advertisement 'Larger Than Life' — the album opener — kicked off the show but from there they jumped into the lively 'It's Gotta Be You' (the fourth track) instead of 'I Want It That Way.' From there, they continued mixing things up and keeping fans on their toes. Classics from the self-titled 1996 'Backstreet Boys' like 'As Long As You Love Me,' 'Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)' worked their way into the show. 'Black and Blue' was represented by 'More Than That' and 'Shape of My Heart.' Perhaps most exciting of all though was the inclusion of 'Millennium' tracks that hadn't been performed live in years. 'I Need You Tonight' and 'The Perfect Fan' made their first appearances in over a quarter century; 'Spanish Eyes' returned after nearly a decade on the shelf. They even debuted their new single 'Hey' off the recently re-released 'Millennium 2.0.' Outside of the music, the show itself was…'Larger Than Life.' Advertisement '…this was more than a mere concert, it was a thrill ride, and the vibrating haptic seats and nonstop visuals elicited shrieks in their own right,' USA Today gushed int their glowing review of the July 11 concert. 'The nearly two-hour joyride came with a futuristic spaceship theme – a nod to their bazillion-selling 'Millennium' album, the celebratory theme of these Vegas shows.' Plus, ''I Want It That Way' marked the first time a Sphere concert has involved a moving apparatus,' USA Today reported. 'The guys stood atop a platform that rose astoundingly high during the finger-snapping pop behemoth while lasers zigzagged around them.' If you'd like to see the beloved boy band live, tickets are available for all remaining Backstreet Boys concerts from now until Aug. 24. The emotionally charged track was originally written for the band's 2019 album 'DNA' but ultimately didn't fit in with the album. 'We wanted to hold on to it and [then] this announcement happened, it was like, 'Oh my gosh, what better way to present a brand-new song?' So it turned out perfect,' Brian Littrell shared with The Today Show. Advertisement If you'd like to hear the guys' latest heartbreaking bop, you can find 'Hey' here. For those that want to dig even deeper, we recommend checking out 'Millennium 2.0,' which features the original 12 tracks, 'Hey,' a few other new songs, alternate lyrics to 'I Want It That Way,' a couple demos and live versions of songs. Backstreet Boys setlist: All the blissful pop songs from Sphere Las Vegas residency

LAS VEGAS – In the late-'90s, the Backstreet Boys reigned as the princes of pop. Now, the group of Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, Kevin Richardson, AJ McLean and Howie Dorough hit a new historical height as the first pop group to play the vaunted Sphere in Las Vegas. For nearly two hours at the July 11 opening concert, the quintet stormed through a 25-song setlist that hammered the necessary hits, from the set opener 'Larger Than Life' to the dance floor closer 'Everybody (Backstreet's Back).' In between, they catered to devotees with album tracks (2005's 'Siberia') and new songs ('Hey,' from their 'Millennium 2.0' album that also arrived July 11) while celebrating their landmark 1999 "Millennium" album. Given the blank palette of creativity provided by the Sphere, BSB took full advantage of the visual toys at their disposal, including recreating their disc-floating video for 1996's 'Get Down (You're The One for Me).' This 'Into the Millennium' residency will stick around with 20 more shows through Aug. 24. Here are all the songs played in Las Vegas. Backstreet Boys 'Into the Millennium' setlist

Backstreet Boys return to Vegas, hint at NSYNC reunion

The Backstreet Boys are preparing for their Las Vegas residency, 'Into the Millennium,' which runs from July 11 to August 24 at the Sphere. The show will feature 24 songs, including the full Millennium album, fan favorites, and a new single titled 'Hey.' Designed with immersive visuals, the performance will incorporate 4D effects, a 350-foot LED screen, and over 167,000 speakers. AJ McLean described the show as 'next-level,' with one segment being 'very cold and intense,' and noted that Kevin Richardson may become emotional onstage. As part of their return to the spotlight, the group is also addressing fan interest in a possible NSYNC collaboration. Nick Carter confirmed in an interview with Parade that discussions have taken place with management teams. 'We've talked about it a ton, actually,' he said. Joey Fatone has also publicly expressed interest, though NSYNC has not announced any reunion or joint plans. For now, both groups appear open to the idea, but no collaboration is scheduled. This residency marks the first time a pop group will headline at the Sphere, following previous acts like U2 and Dead & Company. The Backstreet Boys say they hope to honor their past while introducing new material using the venue's advanced production technology. The focus remains on the upcoming shows and new music, with potential crossovers still in the discussion phase.

Las Vegas Strip Sphere sets popular band's final residency shows

Some of the most popular classic rock bands in music have occupied the stage at Sphere Entertainment's (SPHR) Sphere Las Vegas, and two huge bands, U2 and The Eagles, have scheduled some of the longest residencies in the venue's short existence. Iconic rock band U2 opened the Sphere on Sept. 29, 2023, with its U2/UV Achtung Baby Live at the Sphere residency, which ran for 40 shows and ended on March 2, 2024. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter The Eagles added the final 2025 shows of their 44-show residency at Sphere Las Vegas with eight shows in October and November, but the band could still return to the spectacular venue in 2026. The Eagles, however, won't have the record for the most shows performed at Sphere unless they add more shows to their residency in 2026. Classic jam band Dead & Company launched its Dead Forever residency on May 16, 2024, finishing its 30-show residency run on Aug. 10, 2024. The band extended the residency for 18 more shows, scheduled for March 20 to May 17, 2025, and broke U2's record for most shows at the Sphere on April 26, 2025, when they performed their 41st show of their residency. Dead & Company will continue to hold the record for most shows after they complete the extension of their residency for a total of 48 shows. The band's record will likely last at least into 2026, when The Eagles could overtake Dead & Company's record of performances at Sphere Las Vegas, if they add more shows to their 44-show now, legendary superstar 1990s boy band The Backstreet Boys has signed on for the final shows of its "Into the Millennium" residency at Sphere Las Vegas in July and August 2025.
