Glamorgan sign all-rounder Imad for T20 Blast
Glamorgan have signed Welsh-born Pakistan all rounder Imad Wasim for the remainder of the T20 Blast 36-year-old left arm spinner replaces Australian seam-bowling all-rounder Hayden Kerr, who pulled out through injury after playing just two was born in Swansea but emigrated with his family while still a young has played 75 one day internationals and most recently featured for Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super has played in the United Kingdom for both Nottinghamshire and Trent Rockets as well as in Australia and West Indies."To be able to bring in someone of Imad's experience and quality at such short notice is fantastic," said Glamorgan director of cricket Mark Wallace."He'll give us plenty of options to bowl at a variety of times with the ball and as another left-handed batting option in the middle order. We're looking forward to welcoming him back to Wales."Glamorgan hope he will be available for the home match against Sussex on Saturday, 14 June providing he gains clearance in time. Wallace also expects Kerr to play a future role for the Welsh county."It's a real shame that Hayden's injury has turned out to be a bit worse than we initially hoped," Wallace added."He has settled in really well and though he won't quite be fit to fulfil his initial contract at the club we hope to see Hayden back in a Glamorgan shirt in the future."

Holder, Russell return for West Indies

PHOTO: PCB Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced the T20I squads for the upcoming series against England and Ireland, with big names like Jason Holder and Andre Russell making a return. However, Nicholas Pooran will be rested for the tour following his involvement in the IPL. West Indies will face England in three T20Is immediately after their ODI series at The Oval concludes on Tuesday. Following that, they will head to Ireland for another three-match T20I series, although several players and members of the coaching staffincluding Russellwill be rested for the Ireland leg. Holder last appeared in a T20I for West Indies in February 2024, having missed the World Cup later that year due to injury. Russell's most recent match was against England in Barbados last November, where an ankle injury ruled him out of the remainder of the series. Sherfane Rutherford returns to the squad after missing the Bangladesh series, while Keacy Carty will only feature in the Ireland T20Is, replacing Brandon King who has been granted leave. New Test captain Roston Chase will also depart after the England series to prepare for Australia's upcoming tour, with former West Indies Under-19 player Jyd Goolie receiving his first senior call-up. Ahead of the first Test against Australia starting June 25, West Indies will hold a Test training camp in Barbados from June 13-21. Pakistan vs Bangladesh: Salman Ali Agha states Pakistan to play 'fearless, not careless' cricket
Pakistan's T20I captain Agha Salman has committed to a bold playing style ahead of the three-match series against Bangladesh, stressing a 'fearless, not careless' mindset as the national side builds toward the T20 World Cup. Addressing the media at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore ahead of the first T20I on Tuesday, Salman explained Pakistan's evolving approach in the shortest format. 'It's not just Islamabad United's style. All over the world, teams are adopting attacking cricket. We're doing the same—fearless, but not careless,' Salman said. He recognised Bangladesh as a skilled opponent and identified captain Litton Das as a key threat. 'Litton Das will be a prize wicket for us. We'll look to limit his scoring,' he noted. Pakistan has made eight changes to the squad that toured New Zealand earlier this year. Salman said the adjustments are aimed at building depth for the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka. 'Based on Sri Lankan conditions, we're forming a core group of 20 to 25 players. It gives us options if injuries happen and helps us find the best XI,' the 31-year-old added. Hasan Nawaz, Player of the Tournament in HBL PSL 10, is among the fresh faces. Salman explained Nawaz's role would remain in the middle order.
