Texas A&M freshman 5-star WR is looking healthy in latest video
Texas A&M's 2025 wide receiver rotation is built on speed and quickness, which should result in consistent separation in coverage after head coach Mike Elko and his staff landed KC Concepcion (NC State), Mario Craver (Mississippi State), and Jonah Wilson (Houston) from the transfer portal, while 2025 signees TK Norman, Kelshaun Johnson and five-star Jerome Myles represent the future rotation. However, after missing a majority of his senior high school season in Draper, Utah due to a knee injury, Jerome Myles is back and 100% healthy with an eye on contributing at a high level during the 2025 season, bringing his notable size at 6'2" and 220 pounds and speed that fits what Elko and OC Collin Klein are looking for to fill the void left by junior Noah Thomas, who transferred to Georgia this offseason. While many worried that health would be an issue after Myles was the last signee from the 2025 class to make it to campus, that is now in the rearview mirror, meaning getting up to speed with the rest of the wide receiver rotation is key to make an instant impact this fall. In a new video from Myles' Instagram, courtesy of On3/Rivals recruiting insider Jaxson Callaway, the Utah native is already looking the part before fall camp officially begins next week. For someone coming off an ACL injury, Myles is looking like a player with a chance to crack the starting lineup, but will more than likely be the No. 4 option for starting quarterback Marcel Reed once he gets acclimated to the speed of college offenses. Either way, this is a great sign for the Aggies, who know that no matter how long it takes, Jerome Myles is destined for stardom. Texas A&M finalizes 2025 football roster ahead of season opener
The Texas A&M football roster is officially locked in for the 2025 season. All player measurements and jersey numbers have been updated on the team's website, offering fans a clearer look at who will take the field this fall. It's been a chaotic offseason for the Aggies starting with the house settlement being approved, which sparked a wave of new lawsuits. The summer also saw a whirlwind of recruiting action, including the high-profile commitment and eventual decommitment of Micah Hudson. On the lighter side, several football and softball players took part in a crowd-pleasing 'Celebrity Softball Game,' giving fans a fun break from the intensity of the offseason. Now, with the season opener just a month away, attention turns toward on-field preparation. In about a week, the Aggie football team will begin gearing up for their August 30 showdown against UTSA at Kyle Field. Among all scholarship players—including incoming freshmen and transfers—only Jerome Myles didn't report early, joining the squad in June. And yes, everyone else is accounted for… except Shemar Stewart, who is working out with the team while he waits for his NFL contract to be finalized. You can view the updated roster here. 'Jerome Myles is already turning heads': TexAgs provides insight on Texas A&M freshman WR
Texas A&M's 2025 signing class includes five-star wide receiver Jerome Myles, who enters the program after enduring a season-ending injury after just a handful of games during his 2024 season. An outstanding athlete with immense potential, the learning curve for any freshman is vast once their first collegiate fall camp begins, but for those on the inside, even more so than us, TexAgs co-owner Billy Liucci provided some insight regarding the freshman's progress this summer. "It's going to be harder because of where he came from, meaning the knee injury, and he wasn't here this spring" Liucci stated. "Marco Jones is here in spring and, non only his spring offseason but spring football and 15 practices with pads on, so that's always a big advantage for any freshman coming in that hopes to play at some disatvange when you can. Freshman edge Marco Jones is certainly a name to watch this fall as a potential name to watch among a relatively new edge rotation after his impressive spring game performance, accounting for nearly every defensive sack and tackle for loss on the day. However, the transition to playing wide receiver at the college level is tougher from a scheme perspective, but it sounds like Jerome Myles will be a name to watch once fall camp begins next month. "With that said, Jerome Myles is already turning heads. I think I mentioned this yesterday: He's 225-plus pounds and running among the fastest times by the data out there, 21-22 miles per hour, so he's really fast for a guy his size, and its turning heads as a wide receiver already." Earlier this year, ESPN writers Tom Luginbill and Craig Haubert proffessed similar praise for Jerome Myles' skillset, sharing Liucci's opinion that he is one of the top athletes at his size, and could end up become an immediate downfield threat if he learns the playbook and has a similiar rise to Alabama WR Ryan Williams, who shined during his 2024 freshman campaign. "Myles is a unique prospect. There are plenty of tall, big targets who lack great speed and quickness because of their size. Conversely, plenty of undersized receivers have great speed. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Myles combines both. He's a 50-50 jump ball weapon because of height and wingspan who also has rare speed and acceleration to pose a vertical threat at the same time. His speed is remarkable for his size. He ran a 10.36 100-meter dash, a 4.48 laser-timed 40-yard dash and posted a Max Speed of 20.4 mph. Texas A&M's wide receiver room is loaded with quality transfers and wide-open competition. Expect Myles to fit right in." A teammate of current 2026 4-star QB commit Helaman Casuga, Myles reeled in 18 touchdowns and 1,431 receiving yards over his last three seasons at Corner Canyon HS. 2026 4-star QB and Texas A&M commit invited to Rivals Five-star event
Texas A&M's quarterback future, like that of most major programs, is cyclical due to the transfer portal. However, under coach Mike Elko, the Aggies will return 70% of the 2024 offense this coming season, led by starting quarterback Marcel Reed. Still, Reed is entering a "make or break" season that will affect his future as the starter. In Texas A&M's 2026 signing class, Elko and OC Collin Klein landed one of the top arms in the cycle out of Utah, as four-star QB Helaman Casuga likely represents the Aggies' starting quarterback for the future, especially after 2025 five-star wide receiver signee Jerome Myles was his No. 1 receiving target at Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah. Advertisement Casuga's elite accuracy and tough overtakes any concerns about his 6'1" frame, which is usually the cut off for most successful quarterbacks at the next level. While I could sing his praises throughout this article, Casuga has reportedly been invited to the prestigious Rivals Five-Star event in Indianapolis, Indiana, which features 100 of the top-ranked prospects in the 2026 recruiting class, set to take place on June 23-24. Casuga has been on the rise ever since his productive freshman and sophomore seasons, during which he showcased his arm talent, passing for 6,475 yards and 60 touchdowns, before missing the latter half of his 2024 junior season. Casuga's play-making ability is a perfect fit in current Texas A&M OC Collin Klein's scheme, and if Marcel Reed improves in the pocket this coming season, expect a balanced attack that could lead the SEC in scoring and provide momentum for the future. According to Rivals, Casuga is currently positioned as the 104th-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the 11th-ranked quarterback, and the No. 1-ranked prospect in Utah. Texas A&M HC Mike Elko provides update on 5-star freshman wide receiver
Texas A&M HC Mike Elko provides update on 5-star freshman wide receiver Texas A&M's annual Maroon & White spring game offered the same amount of information for the average Aggie fan as any scrimmage in the past, which isn't much, but that's the point. Spring games give coaches a general review of what players have worked on this spring, especially at quarterback, wide receiver, and pass rush on defense. On Saturday, all three focus areas showed improvement, especially on the defensive line, as freshman Edge Marco Jones recorded five sacks and six tackles for loss. At the same time, transfer additions Dayon Hayes, T.J. Searcy, and Tyler Odyedem looked the part, getting in the backfield multiple times throughout the day. The revamped wide receiver room showed off its speed, route running, and acceleration, led by the newly acquired KC Concepcion and Mario Craver, who looked like starting quarterback Marcel Reed's go-to targets, which will likely be the case next season. However, one name that wasn't available is five-star wide receiver Jerome Myles, who sat out this month as he recovers from his recent injury. Head coach Mike Elko provided an update regarding his health. "Jerome Myles was here today. He has all the physical characteristics to be a great player… He is coming back from a knee injury." "Without question, he will add a lot of value to our program." Jerome Myles enters the program as one of the top athletes in the 2025 class. If he is healthy and ready to contribute next season, he won't see a lot of time on the bench. Besides his downfield speed and large catch radius, Myles provides size to a wide receiver room, which is needed to replace Noah Thomas.
