Mummy meltdowns, competition crises, showstopping talent… all-new Dance Moms hits UK screens

TELLY' S most tantrum-filled talent show is back! Dance Moms: A New Era brings you more mama drama, big bust-ups – and a tough new coach training tomorrow's stars. The original Dance Moms quickly won an army of fans when it launched in 2011. 2 Child dancers fiercely competed to impress hard-to-please teacher Abby Lee Miller (top) and claim their spot at the top of her infamous points pyramid. This first series made superstars of students like Jojo Siwa and Maddie Ziegler. It also thrust the super-protective mums into the spotlight as they schemed against each other and rowed with Abby, who ruled her dance studio with an iron fist. Expect more twists, turns, tempers and dazzling performances in Dance Moms: A New Era, with nine episodes now streaming on Channel 4. Abby Lee's replacement Glo Hampton battles to take her young charges and her dance school Studio Bleu in Virginia, USA, to the next level – entering them for national competitions each week. Rivalries have sprung up right from the start. In the first episode, one of the students, 13-year-old dance prodigy Audrey, is meant to help fellow student Mina nail some tricky moves during a lunch break. Instead she chooses TikTok over teamwork, scrolling on her phone instead of supporting Mina, eight – which has the mums complaining. Audrey's decision goes down especially badly with Mina's mum, Min – cue the fireworks! Min and the other mums waste no time tearing into Audrey's mother, Tammi, questioning her daughter's leadership ability. But Audrey and Tammi fight back, telling the mums that a child shouldn't be shouldering responsibility for the rest of the team. So tension is already bubbling, and the drama is just getting started! As fans celebrate the excitement of this new chapter, we look back at some of the unforgettable moments from the original Dance Moms that thrilled millions. Ice scream When the drama gets too much, sometimes you just need to escape. And for coach Abby Lee Miller, that meant going straight to a police station. After rival dance studio owner Tammy Croftcheck confronted her for being on her phone during a student's competition performance, Abby decided she'd had enough. In an inevitably dramatic exit, she declared: 'I'm gonna go to Baskin Robbins!' But ice cream wasn't on the menu. Instead Abby went to the police, and afterwards claimed she'd filed a complaint against Tammy. Don't bow down Fans adore JoJo Siwa for her high-energy pop songs and her loved-up romance with reality hunk Chris Hughes. But let's not forget where it all started – Dance Moms! She burst onto the scene with her killer dance moves, glittery outfits and sharp comebacks. Aged just 11, she even faced off against the queen of drama herself, Abby Lee Miller. Abby clashed with JoJo and her mum, Jessalyn, after JoJo was ranked low on the pyramid for scoring fifth place in that week's competition. Abby blamed the position on JoJo not getting into her possessed character enough as JoJo refused to watch a scary movie to avoid nightmares. Jessalyn continued to defend JoJo but things escalated when Abby removed JoJo from the pyramid, declaring she 'deserves nothing' and criticising her tears saying, 'You can't stand there and cry.' JoJo, never one to back down, hit back with her iconic line: 'If you yell at me, I'm gonna cry,' which resulted in her being kicked out of the dance studio. However, after a quick chat with her mum, JoJo showed her maturity by returning to apologise, proving she was the bigger person in the end. Classic JoJo drama with a touch of heart! Dressing room clash The first Dance Moms was packed with explosive moments, but Season 4, Episode 7 – Big Trouble in the Big Apple – delivered one of the most jaw-dropping showdowns. Dance mom Kelly Hyland felt Abby showed favouritism towards other dancers instead of her daughters Brooke and Paig. So during a competition in New York, she decided to tackle the issue head on with Abby in the dressing room. Things quickly spiralled out of control during the explosive clash. Kelly pointed her finger in Abby's face, and the coach started making biting gestures. Next Kelly pulled Abby's hair, and the girl dancers were left in tears. Afterwards Kelly and her daughters quit the show for good. Amazing moves The drama was next level, but Dance Moms also gave us plenty of dazzling performances that amazed fans. Among them was Maddie Ziegler's unforgettable contemporary solo, Cry, which helped catapult her to stardom and made her a household name. A tearjerking moment came with JoJo Siwa's stunning dance, Faith Is All I Need, a heartfelt tribute to her grandmother Kathy, who had cancer. These standout dances prove it wasn't just the drama keeping us hooked – the talent was right up there too!

People Think JoJo Siwa And Her Boyfriend Chris Hughes Might Be Expecting Their First Child Together After Watching These TikToks

Jojo Siwa just added fuel to the fire as pregnancy rumors swirl around her and her new boyfriend, Chris Hughes. The allegations first started in late June, when the 22-year-old Dance Moms alum shared TikTok videos of herself surprising the 32-year-old former Love Island star with a charcuterie-style board of red snacks. Related: Chris walks into the room to see what she prepared, and his face immediately lit up, as he picked through the assortment, which was filled with sugary and sweet snacks he loved, and some he wasn't familiar with, like Pop-Tarts. As he continued to thank her for the gift, the two embraced multiple times, but what seemed to catch viewers off guard was the way Chris affectionately rubbed her stomach while doing so. Related: They just couldn't keep their hands off of each other... You can watch the TikTok below: JoJo Siwa / Related: But it's also important to know that JoJo has generated a lot of attention in the past with her fans by doing "pregnancy pranks." So, many were left wondering if this was clickbait or if she was hinting at something. So, when rumors began to spread that she might be expecting her first child with Chris, JoJo addressed it the only way she knew how: playfully. Earlier this week, JoJo shared another video on TikTok, this time playing "Two Truths & a Lie." If you're not familiar with the game, it's when you present people with three statements about yourself — two truths and one lie — and someone else guesses which one they think is the lie. Here are the statements she wanted viewers to guess from: 1. I've never smoked a cigarette. 2. I'm pregnant. 3. This song (her rendition of "Bette Davis Eyes") comes out on Spotify on Friday. Related: Jokingly, people in the comments hoped the song release was a lie: But I checked, and her latest single definitely hit Spotify on Friday, so there's one truth. I truly don't believe she's pregnant, but due to JoJo's raspy voice, some assumed number one had to be the lie. Well, I guess it will just remain a mystery. Gotta love how unbothered she seems about the pregnancy chatter, though! Watch her TikTok below: JoJo Siwa / What are your thoughts? Share them with me in the comments! JoJo Siwa's battle with hidden disability that affects thousands - it could impact her dancing, research shows

She's arguably one of the world's most successful child stars of the 21st century. Jojo Siwa became a reality TV star at just nine-years-old, presided over a billion-dollar business at 15 and by 16, sold out London 's O2 Arena. The now 22-year-old, who boasts 45.9million followers on TikTok, gained scores of new fans earlier this year after appearing on Celebrity Big Brother and confirming her relationship with fellow contestant and former Love Island-er Chris Hughes. But the dancer-turned-entertainer-turned-singer has also faced cruel backlash since the show for her moves. In videos posted on the social media platform, offering followers a glimpse of her day-to-day life performing and training, users have mocked her technique, distastefully suggesting she 'can't dance'. 'Isn't she supposed to be a professional dancer?', one wrote. 'For someone who's danced their whole life I've seen people who don't dance do this better,' another said. Jojo—who is from Omaha in Nebraska, US—has long been open about she deals with the learning difficulty dyslexia. But, research has also suggested her dyslexia—which causes sufferers to frequently spell and read words wrong and is known to run in families—can also affect dancing. According to the British Dyslexia Association, these issues mean that 'movement can take time to "settle" into the body and muscle memory.' Aside from impacting the ability to memorise and recall sequences of steps or movements—crucial for learning and performing choreography—it may also affect spatial awareness. In the first episode of her podcast 'Jojo Siwa Now', she said: 'Letters that are similar, I get a little confused. 'It's not bad. I can read, I can write, so it's nothing that's hard for me to deal with.' She added: 'Because my brain doesn't register which way that 'd' or 'b' is supposed to go, they just look the same.' Research has also suggested that those with dyslexia, often also have dyspraxia. Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), also known as dyspraxia, is a common condition that begins in childhood and can make it difficult to perform motor skills and co-ordination. Diagnosis of Dyspraxia or DCD is usually done through a series of tests carried out at a hospital. It isn't the first time, however, Jojo has been trolled for her expressive moves. Last year, she was slated by some fans for her over-the-top moves and head bashing but in response told her podcast: 'I don't think I'm a good dancer, I don't think I'm a good singer. People saying s***, I'm like ok you're not telling me anything I've not already told myself.' Some well-known dancers, however, have attested their success to dyslexia. In a 2018 interview, Darcey Bussell DBE, former Principal dancer at the Royal Ballet and ex Strictly Come Dancing judge said she had no regrets about being dyslexic at all. As well as driving her to work harder, she argued that dyslexia helped her to channel her creativity and skills into areas she excelled at. Intelligence is not affected by dyslexia — but people with the learning difficulty can struggle in school unless offered additional support. Dyslexia is tricky to diagnose early as some signs, like making frequent spelling or pronunciation mistakes, occur normally as children learn to read and write. Most children with the learning difficulty are only spotted in primary school but some people with the condition are missed until well into adulthood. The NHS suggests that parents concerned about their child's reading and writing should talk to their teacher first, then consider seeking advice from a GP. It adds that adults can arrange for an assessment with the British Dyslexia Association. It's estimated as many as one in 10 Brits and in one in five Americans have dyslexia. Some sufferers hide their condition out of embarrassment. Celebrities and historical figures affected include Orlando Bloom, Albert Einstein, Walt Disney, Leonardo da Vinci and Richard Branson. JoJo has sparked a social media frenzy since she confirmed she is dating Chris Hughes, after they met in April. Before confirming their romance, JoJo and Chris played coy over their relationship status—despite numerous cosy public outings. In an interview with Capital Radio, JoJo said: 'I'm sure it's no secret to people, I am in a lovely relationship with a sweet boy named Christopher Hughes.' She also gushed about her romance with Chris in an interview with The Guardian when asked whether things between them were still platonic. 'It's not platonic anymore, and it's been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way,' she told them.

Jojo Siwa Breaks Silence On Miley Cyrus' Controversial Joke About Her At World Pride

Jojo Siwa has responded to a controversial joke Miley Cyrus made about her new relationship as part of a Pride event. In the last few months, Jojo has been at the centre of several headlines about her personal life, following the news that she'd broken up with her long-term partner Kath Ebbs hours after leaving Celebrity Big Brother, and later began dating fellow housemate Chris Hughes. As part of a World Pride event earlier this month, Miley appeared in a pre-recorded video, appearing in a closet, which she quipped she'd not been in 'since the sixth grade'. She then added: 'Alright, I'm going back in to get some more pretzels and find Jojo Siwa and bring her back out.' 'I'm going back to the closet to find Jojo Siwa & bring her back out' MILEY 😭 — Miley Cyrus Updates (@MileyCyrusBz) June 8, 2025 Miley wound up facing a backlash and accusations of bi-erasure about the joke, which Jojo – who shared in the CBB house that she prefers the term 'queer' to describe herself, having previously identified as 'lesbian' – has now addressed. On Thursday morning, the Karma singer posted a picture of herself on Instagram at the age of five, celebrating her birthday with a Miley-themed party. 'I was happy at my fifth birthday having a Miley-themed party, and I'm still happy now at 22,' she wrote. 'If you know me, you know that Miley is my day one, [I] grew up beyond inspired by her from two years old on.' Jojo continued: 'I wasn't sure how I felt about things for a couple of days… but I've started to come to some thoughts. 'I don't believe what Miley said at World Pride was ill intended, honestly I think it was meant to be a joke, but just not very good one. Not what the world, or myself needs to hear any day of the week.' She added that she'd 'messaged Miley light-heartedly about it', claiming that the former Disney star 'replied and said 'All love. Always'.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by JoJo Siwa (@itsjojosiwa) HuffPost UK has contacted Miley Cyrus' team for comment. Interestingly, back in 2019, Miley defended her own queer identity in light of the fact she was then married to a man. 'I think it's very confusing to people that I'm married. But my relationship is unique,' she told Elle of her relationship with Liam Hemsworth at the time. 'I don't know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it's so complex, and modern, and new that I don't think we're in a place where people would get it.' She added: 'I mean, do people really think that I'm at home in a fucking apron cooking dinner? I'm in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women. 'People become vegetarian for health reasons, but bacon is still fucking good, and I know that. I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most. I definitely don't fit into a stereotypical wife role. I don't even like that word.' ITV Love Island's Chris Hughes villa journey to Jojo Siwa romance

Celebrity Big Brother stars Jojo Siwa and Chris Hughes appear to be smitten, with his stint with Olivia Attwood on Love Island a distant memory as the series returns. Long before his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, where he met Jojo Siwa, Chris Hughes was looking for love in a very different place. He was part of the line-up on Love Island back in 2017. Fans were immediately smitten with the now 32-year-old when he entered the Love Island villa in hopes of finding lasting romance. He hit it off with Olivia Attwood, with the pair lasting only seven months in their whirlwind relationship. Chris soon found himself a new level of fame following the show, having gone on to present podcasts, dabbling in television presenting and launching his own clothing brand. His latest stint on reality TV saw him appear on this year's Celebrity Big Brother, where he caused shockwaves among viewers for his 'friendship' with US Dance Moms star Jojo Siwa, 22. The pair have seemingly confirmed their relationship to be more than platonic in recent weeks since leaving the CBB house. After being pressed on his relationship status, he had a one-word answer to sum up their newly formed romance. "Happy. That's my relationship status - happy. Yeah, I'm just happy that's good. I'm happy with that," he confirmed. Jojo has also spoken openly with fans, when she was asked the moment she first felt a romantic spark between them. "I honestly can't say," she admitted. "It wasn't something that just flicked and happened, it happened over time." Despite the vague answers, Chris still gushes about his close relationship with JoJo, admitting she's become his "favourite topic of conversation." He said: "She's just just my favourite human and somebody I can literally talk about relentlessly." Let's take a look back at Chris' time in the Love Island villa, as the new series is set to hit screens on Monday, June 9. Love Island Villa feud Bromance Celebrity Big Brother
