Security forces recover IED from Arunachal's Namsai dist

Itanagar: Security forces recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) from Nangtaw village in Piyong circle in Arunachal Pradesh's Namsai district on Saturday, police said, reports Joken Ete. The IED was recovered during a routine operation by Assam Rifles, who reported the recovery to police, Namsai SP Sange Thinley said on Sunday. He said the IED is possibly old and that security forces are examining it. A bomb squad will diffuse the recovered IED on Sunday, the SP said. The official said security has been beefed up in the whole of Namsai district in view of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. On July 17, Assam Rifles had recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation in Miao, Changlang district.

1 2 3 4 Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh education minister Pasang Dorjee Sona on Monday inaugurated, 'Saksham' — an innovative student activity and enrichment centre — for holistic development and empowering young minds at Springdale 5th IRBn Welfare School here, reports Joken Ete. The Saksham centre has been conceptualised to support holistic development through activity-based, play-based, and experiential learning in line with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework 2023. It is equipped with a digital learning zone, library, indoor games corner, and creative areas for music, art, craft, drawing, and theatre. The facility also focuses on life skills including health, hygiene, traffic safety, and value-based education.
